I wish it was possible to give a zero…
I wish it was possible to give a zero star. but i cant. this company is unprofessional. they outsource all their service. they rely on third party techs. their customer service is horrible. they also did not fix my furnace when i most needed them. their technician also gave a B violation because something was in his way when he entered the basement
stay away from this company.
I reported gas leaks to Enercare four times and no one showed up
No one showed up after I contacted Enercare four times on Monday, January 26 to report two furnace gas leaks.
The issue began when I booked appointments with both Enbridge (routine gas metre replacement) and EnerCare (annual furnace cleaning and inspection) for January 26. I have subscribed to the latter’s heating and air conditioning maintenance plan for at least 10 years at a current cost of $59.93 per month. Besides offering the annual maintenance check, it covers repairs, parts/labour and same-day service if customers call by 6 pm.
The Enbridge technician arrived at my home about 1:45 pm. When he came inside to synchronize the new meter with my furnace, he discovered two gas leaks plus an issue with my hot water heater. He immediately shut off my furnace and waited while I called EnerCare in a panic to report the leak and hopefully expedite the technician’s arrival.
The operator was unfazed and repeatedly told me that she could not locate the tech or determine his arrival time. She guessed he would turn up around 3 pm.
The second employee told me to call 911 and then hung up.
I called back a third time to learn that my inspection appointment had been moved to the following week. Frustrated, the Enbridge technician took my phone and reiterated there were two serious gas leaks, issuing an ATAG code (an SOS in HVAC terms). We were put on hold while the operator spoke to a supervisor. He returned to say a report had been prepared and a technician would be dispatched. He then read a rambling statement about Enercare’s policy on new equipment recommendations. Upset, I interrupted him to ask a question about the leak and he snapped back “you’re not letting me do my job.”
Wanting a definitive time for the technician’s arrival, I called a fourth time. A woman confirmed that a dispatch report had been prepared but “it could take two hours” for the tech to arrive. This final call was made at 2:49 pm. There was never a hint of urgency uttered by the employees.
Two hours passed and the house was growing cold as the temperature outside had dropped to -15C degrees with a cold weather alert in effect. Scared and alone, I contacted an independent HVAC company. The owner was alarmed and showed up 20 minutes later. He immediately set to work replacing well worn pipes and remediating the leaks. (A total of six gas leaks were ultimately discovered.) He stayed until 11 pm., promising to return the following day.
I shivered through the night (the outdoor windchill temp fell to -30C) and the technician returned the next day. I had heat by 3 pm for a cost of $1500. It’s been more than two weeks and no one from the company ever showed up. When I contacted Enercare to complain, I was assured my calls had been fully documented. A very snippy woman told me that Enercare does not cover gas leaks.
I hope my experience serves as a warning to consumers and Enercare customers who may require emergency service.
Extremely difficult to deal with
Extremely difficult to deal with, its very hard to get anyone to speak English. They want to rent you a unit but hide the buyout information, you have to fight to get it. I spent 3 hours on the phone, now have to wait 3 days for a reply for a simply ask. They are not transparent, very rude and ignorant. I would not recommend, its a nightmare
Great service
Great service. Tech top notch.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.

Don't Do It.
The water heater rental cost is excessively high. The cost and process to exist the contract is also extreme. Enercare has the process down to a science where they extort every penny they can from you the consumer. Even the last buyout bill cost me an additional $45 in late fees and extra month rental because they failed to follow the billing process that they advised during the process. I'm so tired of dealing with this extortionary company that I won't pursue wrongful billing paying and will pay the final bill to end the pain and suffering.
I have a contract with Enercare for plumbing services
I have a contract with Enercare for plumbing services. on February 5, 2026, I called for service to repair a leak under my kitchen sink. I was told that the earliest I can have an appointment was February 10. The service technician went to the wrong entrance for my community (I live in a gated community) and refused to listen to my directions to get to the correct entrance. He hung up on me. I called the head office and was told someone would call me back. Even thought I explained my situation, almost 2 hours later I have had no one call. The service provided by this company is no longer reliable.
I would give this a zero if I could
I would give this a zero if I could. Furnace failed last Thursday. After 24 hours someone arrived and “fixed” it. For 8 days. It failed again in the middle of Saturday night. There is no appointment until tomorrow so another 36 hours of no heat. Space heaters were promised by 3 pm and now by 5 pm. It is 5:10.
Nice on the phone. Zero delivery.
False information /unjustified billing
Ener care water tank was installed in my condo in 2020 by the builder. Not a single maintenance on the rental tank. I called because hot water was shutting down when in use. Enecare sent their plumber to my house and also demanded to be paid upon completion of replacing of malfunction valve and workmanship.
The false information provided about peace of mind for renting the water tank.
Toilet Issue
We had an issue with the toilet installed our main bathroom. We booked a service appointment online and lucked out to have Craig respond. He solved our issue, was professional and very personable. He went above and beyond to help us and we greatly appreciate it.
I cannot say enough about Mohammad…
I cannot say enough about Mohammad Kazem the HVAC professional from Enercare provided for me. His wisdom corrected the heating problem even though it was the third visit within two weeks in this winter cold snap. The previous tech fixed the problem temporarily but this man Mohammad advised us about correct furnace filters to buy and use. I got educated on correct Merv filter s 8-10 for the appropriate size of my dwelling. The next issue is blockage, thus a duct cleaning is planned for the spring. Mohammad is a thorough troubleshooter kind of professional and thank God he attended my home that evening. Thank you again Mohammad Kazem
Avoid at all costs
Do not rent any product from this company. I was left without hot water for days waiting for an appointment. Never heard back when my claim was escalated because I have a baby at home even after calling multiple times. When I asked to just end the contract they said the buyout was $1200!!!
After a scheduled maintenance appt (Money Grab)
After a scheduled maintenance appt. we received an email stating our furnace was not efficient and we should look into replacing it soon. The furnace was 7 years old and installed by one of their technicians as a side job referred by the rogers cable guy who installed the cable and internet when we moved into the house. The furnace was installed poorly due to the vent pipes not angled properly which gave the furnace a gurgling sound as moisture was not being removed. I fixed this myself!!!! He installed a low quality furnace under the table so we got a new furnace and A/C from them above the table on an installment plan and all was great until we moved about a year later. We were billed $12,000 for the job. What an absolute ripoff!!!! Could have had it done for half that by another company. I call them Enerdonotgiveacrap!!!! My brother had them do a scheduled maintenance at his house and told the tech the furnace was making a whistling noise for about a week, the tech did his stuff and said the furnace is working fine and there is nothing wrong with it yet it still makes the whistling sound which I beleieve is worn bearings from the blower motor.I believe they are waiting for the funace to quit so they can replace it completely as it is on the older side.Scam Beware!!!!!!
I do not like enercare at all .
I do not like enercare at all ..this month I had to pay more Money for my water heater its now more than $29 per Month and I wander who can stop them from rising their fees !!
The technicians are excellent
The technicians are excellent, despite chronic problems with appointments being honoured. have had at least 5 incidents where appointments are given and confirmed and no one shows up, because the appointment is cancelled without warning. The planners have given ridiculous excuses and have no concept of customer service. I plan to switch suppliers.
Consumer beware !!!!!
Consumer beware !!!!!
Disgusted with their service
run if you can!!!
Sunday,January 25
Sunday,January 25, was severely cold and no heat, but a call to enercare promised a technician that afternoon. Rob showed up and we had heat with a promise to replace the faulty part later in the week. Sure enough Rob and Barry called to install it. They where very efficient and component.
Unprofessional
The conduct of Enercare personnel during this visit made me feel unsafe in my own home. I am further concerned that the manner in which the equipment was handled has caused damage to justify or conceal prior workmanship issues.
Worst company to deal with
Worst company to deal with. Enercare has the worst service because they really don't care.
During the snowstorm last week I was left without heat for 2 n8ghts and 3 days.
Finally the technician came and fixed the heating and left.
Today 2 days later the heating dies again.
I called and got an appt for 12-2pm.
Nobody shows up. No call, no courtesy, nothong.
Then I get an email that my appt id now on Sunday. Today is Friday. So now another 2 freezing nights.
Every call goes to agents in columbia and of course they all tell you they are sorry but hnfortunately cannot do anything. How convenient.
We have the protection plan and still get this shit service.
No phone numbers can be found for Victoria Tam or anyone else on the internet and her slogan of we Treat your home like ours is a LOAD of BS. SHE DOES NOT CARE EITHER.
Enercare should change its name to Enercare does not care.
Very disgusted and disappointed customer of over 30 years.
Sent from my Bell Samsung device over Canada's largest network.
The service technician Bernard…
The service technician Bernard Bizindavyi cam to my house to do the yearly heating maintenance, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. He provided me with an excellent customer service.
Thank you
