I paid nearly £100 to DCBL to trace a former tenant who owes a considerable amount of unpaid rent and legal fees. The next day, a generic report came back essentially saying, "Sorry, we couldn't... Mehr ansehen

This is the easiest way to trash your…
This is the easiest way to trash your companies reputation. It says a lot about your company by who you use and this company will show all your customers that you frankly dont give a S@*T
Poison
Poison - typical of everything that is wrong about Britain at this moment in time and one of the core reasons consumer trust is at an all time low. I have written to these guys 3 times re a debt they are pursuing on behalf of Parkmaven (who have 186 1* reviews on here, not a single review giving them more than 1*). The responses are unclear and there is no reasoning. This charge relates to my fathers car. He's been dead 14 months and his car is now kept in Norwich, (he lived in the Peak District). There's a picture of a car branding his reg number in Birmingham??!! The car has never been within a 100 miles of B'ham in the two years he has owned it? If this was your company... on hearing that... do you think you'd at least stop chasing until Parkmaven had replied? Of course you would. Not DCB Ltd of course. Lets just ignore everything anyone is trying to tell us. IN FACT - lets insist we can only deal with the dead person as a reason to not listen to me???!!
Predatory, aggressive tactics and complete refusal to look at evidence!
I had a horrific experience with DCBL. They suddenly started sending threatening letters to my current address for a 3.5-year-old parking charge that was legally unenforceable from day one (the original parking company breached the PoFA 2012 statutory time limits).I never received the original notices back in 2023 because I was moving house and had legally updated my address with the DVLA. Instead of doing a basic trace back then, they waited 3.5 years to suddenly "find" me and send aggressive letters threatening a County Court Judgment (CCJ). The staff were incredibly rude, flat-out refused to look at my official DVLA proof, and applied severe psychological pressure to force me into paying £125 under extreme duress. But here are the two most alarming issues that need immediate investigation:1. Shady Data Collection Practices:
On every call, they forcefully demanded my Date of Birth. When I filed a complaint, they used the excuse that it's to "ensure they are speaking to the correct person". This is completely unjustified and excessive, as I had already provided my full name, current correct address, and their exact case reference number! This raises massive concerns about improper personal data harvesting. I strongly urge anyone who has experienced this unnecessary demand for their Date of Birth to file a formal complaint with them and escalate it to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). 2. Refusal to Issue Receipts:
After I was forced to make the payment over the phone, the agent explicitly refused to provide a payment receipt or invoice! I literally had to file a formal Data Protection complaint just to get an email confirming that my case was paid. Collecting money and refusing to issue basic financial receipts is a massive red flag. It raises very serious questions about exactly what is being paid, how these funds are being processed, and whether proper taxes are being declared on these collections. I strongly urge government authorities (such as HMRC, Trading Standards, and the FCA) to investigate this company's financial and data protection practices immediately. If they force you to pay under duress, do not let it go – raise a Chargeback dispute with your bank!
Do not be bullied by these people
Do not be bullied by these people, tried to take me to court over a parking fine, that I did not commit, used the courts to bully me into paying. So I told them to bring it on… got a court date and within a couple of weeks dropped the case, there attitude was appalling, treated like a criminal, absolute disgrace, should be a law to stop them using the courts as a tool to get money out of you
So confused!!
So confused they contacted me to say that I have an outstanding parking fine. I could not recall but agreed to pay. 2 weeks later they called to say that I owe another parking fine for 2021. Asked why they took so long to contact me and they said that the debt had been transferred from another debt company but they do not have the details on the system.
Collect irrelevant information for marketing or other purpose
I called to discuss a parking ticket, but the staff requested my name and address, which are already in the letter they sent. She also requests my email, mobile and Day of Birth.... I stop her questions and asks why she needs such information as it is irrelevant with the case. She then stop to ask. I request she explain the purpose, she then explain it is used for verifying who am I. I query that this is the twice to call about my case on the same morning due to no power of my phone. I gave different email and phone no but she can't detect. On the contrary, I can verify they didn't use my information for verification, but maybe for data collection to sell to another company for marketing purposes or other illegal purposes.
Poor communication and bully tatics
Unfortunately, DCBL fall down when it comes to communication and rely on bullying tactics. They like to imply that they are the final word and that you must pay them, but in reality they are just a non-legal entity with no power to force payment unless and until the matter goes to court — and even that isn't their decision to make. They are not bailiffs and have no legal authority, so don't give in to their bullying tactics.
Received a letter to pay £170 for…
Received a letter to pay £170 for parking at David Lloyd. This was my first letter from them. Iv parked in non restricted areas, total shock receiving such huge fine On the phone to them a very unhelpful response. They display notices saying that the highest amount would be £100. Don’t understand why they charge me £170.
Take detailed notes on all correspondence and keep calm
I called DCBL in regards to 2 parking fines. I asked for the name of the person who represents DCBL, they told me their name was Amara. I explained my situation, the person was curt, rude threatening that they will escalate the process of I did not pay, I told them I can only afford £5.00 pcm, but was told, that was not enough. I told them I had mandatory bills that come before any fines. The person did not care, was obviously not Intrested in assisting, was rushing to get off the phone. If any person has issues with DCBL, refer them to the ombudsman and they will start a process. Be polite and keep them on the phone to ensure they understand your situation. Do not be pressured into paying what you cannot afford. Keep calm, do not rush. Had they been polite, endeavoured to assist, I would not be writing this. Take detailed notes and do not panic.
Rang yesterday due to receiving a fine…
Rang yesterday due to receiving a fine from April, I appealed and it was removed but because there were two fines for the same reason and visit. The person I spoke to, had no interest in hearing what I had to say and kept cutting me up. She told me it was pointless contacting BPA as they had sent the fines to them and there was nothing that could be done. I have since appealed AGAIN, asking why only one fine was removed when I had shown proof of blue badge and parked in a disabled bay. Waiting for a response but not holding onto much hope, even when you explain to them. They have no interest just expect payment!
Awful company
Awful company.
They sent me the same fine 2 years later and expect me to pay the full £160.00 charge without being able to contest it.
The phone operators are shocking. They don't allow you to speak, lie about addresses being changed through DVLA and can't provide records as to when this was supposed to have happened.
They're now demanding I pay up with 4 day's notice after their letter was sent.
Horrible people, even for debt collectors!

Received a debt recovery letter out of…
Received a debt recovery letter out of the blue about a parking ticket (I wasn't using the car at the time). I obviously wanted to investigate why I didn't receive the original letter (I've lived at the same address for years) and the context of the ticket.
I was confronted with an aggressive member of staff who wouldn't tell me the amount of the original fine or who to contact to find out or what timeline I was working to or the debt collection process (my 1st experience). She demanded my email address and mobile number 'for GDPR'. I refused which made her more aggressive and actually intimidating. They've now got that information as I had to complete it in order to pay them! (I have asked them to clarify why they need that info and how it meets the principles of GDPR). So, I guess their call handlers are on commission for people paying them the debt and also on commission for obtaining peoples mobile numbers and email addresses which I can only presume they sell on.
I would giev a 0 if i could
I would giev a 0 if i could. claim to not harrassment people but do harrass peope and even when the account is market as vunerable they ignore it and continue to harrass and bully vunerable people on the phone. They have been told just emails and letters no calls But according to their staff in South Africa they can do what they want till debt is paid. Now my whole day is ducked up as i am soo worked up by the call.
Shockingly inept and scammers
No letter received notifying me of a parking violation for 2 months and then states no right of appeal given I haven’t sorted it sooner. This was a doctors surgery for which I had an appointment. I knew nothing about it. Very suspect and now believe this could be a scam. No idea - shocking approach by this ‘ethical company’. Reminder - an NHS doctors surgery has instructed them to do this (£170 fine). 🤬
Tony Evans has been super proactive and…
Tony Evans has been super proactive and the debts we've struggled to settle, have all had positive results so far.
It started well enough
It started well enough. My daughter had a County Court Judgement in her favour against a motor trader who had miss sold her a vehicle. DCBL were very friendly and receptive when I telephoned them to seek collection of the unpaid debt. I paid them £80 and they told me that if they were unable to collect the debt for any reason, they would not get paid and would look to me to pay them an additional £94.80. They assured me that this was most unlikely, giving me the impression that they were well used to companies who didn't want to pay their debts. Unfortunately this was not the case and I have just had to pay them this additional sum of money. My daughter's CCJ against the motor trader was not acted on quickly enough and the crook sold the dealership to someone else (all above board and legal according to DCBL) who apparently is not responsible for the debt. They say they are not allowed to visit the home of the director of the company which is still active according to Companies House unless I can prove he's trading from that address. So no, I'm not happy. Their communication was very slow, their actions slower still. Cannot recommend.
DCBL to enforce a County Court Judgment
Instructed DCBL to enforce a County Court Judgment via High Court Writ of Control against a company that owed me significant rent arrears. Paid the £80 court fee upfront in good faith. After enforcement agents attended two addresses (one derelict, one repossessed) and found no assets, I was then charged a further £94.80 "abort/compliance fee" — bringing my total outlay to £174.80 with zero recovery of the underlying debt. DCBL later offered a further paid service (expensive service to take further action ) to pursue the debtor's bank account directly, which I declined — I'm glad I did, given the outcome so far.
To be fair, DCBL's complaints team responded promptly and explained the fee structure clearly, referencing HCEOA industry rates, and they were transparent that they don't guarantee results. But that's exactly the problem: a service marketed on the basis that "we only get paid on results" still left me £174.80 out of pocket with nothing recovered. If your debtor has any realistic chance of having vacated or gone under, think very carefully before paying anything upfront — you may end up paying fees on a case that recovers nothing. 1 star, because the no other practical optional offered by DCBL, financial outcome for me was a total loss on top of the debt I was already owed.
Gave up waaayy too easily!
Unfortunately, the 'agent' took the word of the debtor by phone and declared that the debt was unrecoverable.
Turning up to a sole trader (plumber's) house in the middle of the day means that there is no vehicle.
And yet, despite the agent stating that there was no prospect of recovery, this tradesperson has continued to work and has had a new website made.
Not short of cash!
Got issues a parking fine at Tesco…
Got issues a parking fine at Tesco while I was working there overnight. Informed dcbl that the fine is not a legally issued fine and that I can provide all the evidence they need to see I was legally allowed to park. The person on the phone who was incredibly rude tells me she suggests I pay it. I eventually recorded the call and she was suddenly happy to talk to a manager. A manager then said I have to pay it, there's no disputing the payment and horizon will not help sort it as it's now dcbls debt. Funny that cause I just informed horizon and they said that's totally incorrect and they will look into this for me.
This company will knowingly chase illegal debts and will double down when they get told it's illegal. Should be investigated for misconduct
Wouldn't trust these lot to collect your debts, no one will pay someone who treatens you.
Try Lowell. I pay them a debt cause they are respectful and help. These lot are scum
