Unprofessional Administration staff need training
I instructed Court Enforcement Services to obtain a transfer up high court writ in October 2025. 6 months later they still had not been successful in obtaining the writ, blaming the court system.I requested that they try a different court and they refused. The application failed eleven times in total due to administration problems. Eventually, in April 2026 I obtained a full refund of admin and court fees which were paid in advance and another company took over my case. I would never recommend Court Enforcement Services based on my own experience. Appalling administration.
Other companies do so much better and in fact another company took over my case and the debt was paid in full on the first visit. It took just 7 weeks from instruction to payment reaching my bank account.
HCEOA labelled them as "seriously careless"
CES were found by the HCEOA to have acted with "serious professional carelessness" on behalf of us as creditor. The findings are damning. Instruct this firm at your peril.
• The Return of No Goods of 8 December 2025 was not issued on the basis that
enforcement was genuinely exhausted. It was issued following a decision to cease
acting for reasons of staff welfare. The certification does not accurately reflect the
true position. This is the most serious finding in this decision.
• The EA's own report records that goods were present at or regularly moved through the
enforcement address by van. This evidence was not acted upon and was subsequently
mischaracterised in CES's formal response to this office. No forced entry was considered.
• The first physical visit was inadequate. No photographs were taken. No telephone contact
was made. The neighbour's intelligence about weekly van attendance was not acted upon.
• The second visit was not a visit. It was a telephone call recorded as an enforcement
attendance.
• CES acted on a document from separate proceedings (case 663MC403) to suspend
enforcement without disclosing to the creditor the basis for that suspension. Whilst Mr
Warren had no legal entitlement to demand the document through CES, CES was not
entitled to rely on it against the creditor’s interests without transparency as to its contents
and relevance.
• Enforcement was suspended from approximately 2 December 2025 without any court order,
stay, or legal basis.
• Incorrect advice was given regarding forced entry at commercial premises and was not
corrected promptly.
• A hold was placed on the case on 13 October 2025 without client notification or authority.
• The formal complaint of 15 October 2025 was not acknowledged within 2 working days as
required by CES's own complaints procedure.
Absolutely disgraceful
Absolutely disgraceful. Been trying to sort out 3 fines since the beginning of January. We moved address and all we wanted was the original fines we didn’t receive! The amount of emails we have sent Trying to sort this out, that have been ignored and when they do reply it’s so unclear of what we need to do. Our fines have now increased over £1000. It’s so unfair. They are so unhelpful and vague. I dread to think how an elderly person would cope with this stress
Avoid using this firm for enforcement
Avoid using this firm for enforcement. They were instructed back in August 2025 and made only two visits to the debtor. After securing only a part payment in September from the debtor's brother, they retained over £700 in fees for Stage 1 Enforcement. They then did nothing for four months, no further visits and no further updates. Despite several emails from myself asking for updates, they would simply tell me they would 'chase' the enforcement officer. They ignored complaints, missed deadlines and then closed the case by issuing a Nulla Bona falsely certifying that the debtor had no further assets, after allowing the case to stagnate for 4 months. The overall clear message from CES is that once they have retained their fees, they stop all work. I am now having to start all over again with a new enforcement firm.
Fantastic Company
Fantastic company to do business with. Highly professional and excellent results. Would highly recommend and they are pleasure to deal with.
A DECEITFUL, UNTRUSTWORTHY Company that refuse to comply with their own T&C!
Court Enforcement Services are a disgraceful company that blatantly mislead on their website then refuse to honour their own Terms & Conditions - SHOCKINGLY DECEITFUL behaviour from an UNTRUSTWORTHY Company with VERY RUDE, arrogant staff who are patronising, disinterested & uncaring.
CES also do not understand basic Contract Law, (very worrying for a company in this field), where the Terms & Conditions form part of the Contract, (as even most laymen know is true, but CES apparently DO NOT, or they arrogantly think they're above the law), because they wrongly claimed on the phone that the T&C are not contractual, which is utter rubbish!
OF COURSE, the T&C are part of the contract, but CES REFUSE to honour their OWN Terms & Conditions - HOW CAN ANYONE TRUST a company that wilfully* FAILS to comply with their own T&C?
*And surely knowingly too, as despite the ignorance & obstruction of the rude staff, the company itself MUST KNOW that T&C are contractual, (otherwise what's the point of having them in the first place)!
The webpage appears to be deliberately DESIGNED to MISLEAD about the timings of charges! I believe this is a breach of Advertising Standards Authority rules that say claims on companies own websites cannot be misleading, and potentially a failure of their legal duty to trade fairly as they're using misleading, untrue claims, (LIES in other words), to influence people to choose them over other HCEO service providers, (to gain an unfair competitive advantage over more honest & transparent HCEOs)!
There are multiple instances on the website where CES falsely & misleadingly state that all the claimant needs to pay upfront is an £80 Court Fee to transfer a CCJ up to the High Court.
There are multiple references to the Compliance Fee (£90 inc VAT) which infer or state this is claimed from the debtor and ONLY PAID by the claimant LATER ON in the process, IF REQUIRED, and is NOT charged upfront.
It even states in their Terms & Conditions that you, as claimant, will ONLY have to pay the £90 in the event they fail to collect the money from the debtor** and if that happens, they will INVOICE YOU for the compliance fee, with 30 days to pay.
**They list a variety of reasons why they might fail, but neglect to mention their own INCOMPETENCE, (which based on their misleading & untruthful claims; REFUSAL to honour their own T&C & apparent ignorance over the basics of contracts, I judge to be highly likely)!
Their upfront charges are VERY CLEARLY displayed, MULTIPLE TIMES, as just £80.
HOWEVER, after you've filled in all the information & instructed them to transfer up to the High Court, they send a payment link demanding £170 - NOT the £80 they promise is all you will pay upfront!
They then claim their T&C has changed (though they have not altered them on their website or on the webform I completed - meaning that LEGALLY, the T&C in place are the ones I agreed to on the date I signed the transfer instruction form, (which cover an upfront cost of just £80), as it is unfair and UNLAWFUL to attempt to retrospectively impose NEW T&C relating to an agreement signed prior to the changes.
CAN YOU TRUST a company that UNLAWFULLY attempts to impose NEW, DETRIMENTAL Terms & Conditions on you at a later date?
CES are also difficult to get through to on the phone. It took several attempts where I got hold music for about 15 minutes, then without warning they hung up & ended the call so I had to try again.
Eventually, after 3 attempts, I got through to someone who insisted I had to pay the unfair amount of £170 rather than the £80 they had promised, which I refused to do and insisted they honour their own T&C - I was told that someone else would have to look into that, so I asked for a call back by that person.
The rude, 'superior', arrogant, bullying woman whom called back later, clearly didn't want to listen, rudely talking over me repeatedly, and not letting me finish important points, (even after I explained that I suffered mental health disabilities - which mean I lose the thread if interrupted, she persisted in that unacceptable, rude, bullying behaviour), and was generally OBSTRUCTIVE whilst very obviously pretending to be polite, (the smug, condescending tone of voice gave away her intent to annoy and obstruct me and revealed she was gaining satisfaction from knowing she had done so)!
In my opinion Court Enforcement Services have NO INTEGRITY and are either CLUELESS toward BASIC principles of contract law, or worse, deliberately ignoring it!
CES are happy to make multiple, fundamentally MISLEADING & UNTRUE claims to trick you to think engaging them for HCEO services involves a cheaper initial outlay than their competitors, then REFUSE to HONOUR their own Terms & Conditions!
AVOID this deceitful, untrustworthy company in favour of more honest HCEOs!
I'm an anomaly
I assume, given the nature of this business, they often get good reviews from those collecting a debt & bad reviews from those needing to pay a debt.
So this will be one for people to marvel in amazement.
I am someone who OWED money to someone, now, initially, when this company made contact with me for the first time, the man who showed up was verbally aggressive, making demands left & right & telling me I needed to prove to him I was disabled & let him into the apartment block & open my door, unfortunately for him, I know my rights.
Anyway, I digress, this was many years ago & one b*mhole won't put a sour taste in my chompers.
After a brief call, I was able to set up repayment that was affordable to me & given that the company in question was a big, multi billion pound organisation, I didn't feel the least bit guilty that they got the money back eventually. (I wouldn't skip out on money owed to small business.)
Today, however, I found out I had finally finished paying this debt, I was in my 20s when I started paying & now I'm mid 30s, its great to have that weight off my shoulders & finally have it reflect positively on my credit file.
I don't blame the collectors or those I owed money to for what I did, that can only lay with myself, I did not understand how to pay bills due to my mental health but over time was taught how to... and hence why I am now in this position & debt free.
Appalling.
Appalling.
Very little communication.
They agreed a payment plan with the Debtor without our consent.
Worst of all trying to get our money out of them!
They have received payments from the Debtor, but not have not passed them on, at this rate we will taking them to court to get our awarded money.
STRICTLY - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Illegal practices and cowboy outfit
The previous resident of my apartment was evicted and owed lots of money to many organizations. I have been bombarded with mail which the mail man is automatically returning. I had a visit while out once form a debt collector and I have grown increasingly frustrated with this situation. I put a "Statutory Declaration" on my door which explained that they are no longer here and I have no association with them and you have no authority to enter or take goods etc. I said in no uncertain terms that they must leave and "go away." This is a legal document and binding. Including within it was a withdrawal of their implied right of access, not that I needed it because my building and its apartments all are behind a locked door which only residents can enter. I made it clear that I would consider any contact harassment, trespassing and a violation of my civil rights, which it would be.
I had a visit from Court Enforcement Services while at work and a letter slipped under my door. They broke in, entered my block, read and ignored my notice and left a letter for the previous resident using threatening language and not identifying who actually called and giving a clearly fake name "John Hancock" who is a founding father of the USA and a colloquium for a signature.
They were warned in writing, chose to break the law, broke and entered my building, trespassed, and violated my civil rights. This is a rough trader and needs to be shut down and they are operating outside the law. I am taking them to court for these breaches.
Exceptional team, well worth pursuing
Exceptional service from client services. Regular updates until recovery of debt

Court Enforcement Services have no integrity …
There are legitimate cases where money needs to be recovered. However, there's cases where wrong person is prosecuted. The Court Enforcement Services are required to serve legal documents, and in doing so have to work with integrity, unfortunately CES are lacking in this concept, with a lot of untruthful statements to me and the ico. Having had a wrongful CCJ issued to me in default, I had to spend a lot of money having it set aside. Once I did, I simply asked CES to remove my details from their system, they have refused to do so.
"Court Enforcement Services (Court Enforcement Services)"
Edit:
Having again, double check the links on emails I have, I can confirm that this is the company who I was in correspondence with. I have now forwarded one of the many emails to this company which highlights the Court Enforcement Services web page..

Vehicle Repair - Dispute
After a dispute with a vehicle repair garage who refused to refund me for not fixing my car, my money claim was processed very swiftly by Court Enforcement Services. The County Court ruled in my favour by default judgement since the garage (defendant) failed to respond to any correspondence for a dispute resolution. The judgement had to be enforced by writ from the High Court which Court Enforcement Services were able to acquire swiftly and proceed with enforcement. The whole process of recovering the funds from start to finish took less than 2 weeks. I am very pleased with the professional service provided by Court Enforcement Services and would recommend them to anyone who have been manipulated and ripped off by a vehicle service/repair garage or any other retail/business.
Very helpful and a very speedy service…
Very helpful and a very speedy service to ge our money back.
Recovered one debt - but communication could be better
I've had two debts I'm trying to chase. One eventually was recovered, but I feel like communication could be better to make it more satisfactory. Despite stipulating times for when debt collectors are best attending properties, I am told they choose their timings and manage their own workload, meaning they ignore your advice of when it is best to get an answer or questions about when they will return. I advised one of the debtors is away during school holidays and not at home during the day, and so a majority of the visits were scheduled during the during the day and in school holidays! The process could be a lot easier to retreive money. It also appears all they've done with my second debt collection is knock on the door a few times at ad-hoc hours. As I say, could be better, although I've had one positive outcome.
I cannot praise the system highly enough
I cannot praise the system highly enough. They did a first class job.
After spending about eight months attempting to recover a large debt I lost patience and set the legal wheels in motion.
The Court went into action straight away and literally the day after the legal notification period elapsed respecting my debtor the enforcement officers went in to their premises and came away with payment in full.
You simply can't ask for more than that and I therefore unreservedly recommend this service to anyone struggling for justice.
An absolutely disgusting useless…
An absolutely disgusting useless service. Hired them to recover the outstanding debt from the debtor adress , they waited sufficent time allowing the debtor to disappear then decided to trace him. Guess what?
All of the sudden agent knocks on the doors of the creditor- my doors ! :D :D Then even although of giving them a current debtor adress they have decided to close the case and send me an invoice for compliance fee. I did not get the money owed and will have to spend 90pounds more just for nothing on top of 71 to create the writ. so additional 160 lost on the top of my debt- Thank you. I wish your businness a quick shut down!
Totally unprofessional company charged…
Totally unprofessional company charged me 300 for an income and expenditure form with never arrived, then the automated payment took 5k out of bank, instead of 500 took them 2 weeks to refund it, terrible company
Excellent service
This is the second time we have used CES and once again it was a simple process and full payment was received including our costs. We provided the information and CES did the rest. We would definitely recommend this service.
