Not only are their scores completely inaccurate (50+ points below), but they filed a loan application with 'Avant' through the app without my consent and claim I did it myself and now are trying to refer me back to Avant. I have successfully deleted my account with them and warn anyone who has this app to be very cautious. Also, their credit card 'approval chances' are totally inaccurate.

CK sends me emails describing easy to get loans for credit card consolidation, so I check out the offers, I see FOUR at 7.85% but when I submit, they tell me I am approved but the rate is 11.79% and a $1200 fee. WTH? So I try again and same deal. I thought CK was a trusted source of financial resources. Then I start reading all the bad reviews. What a world where this kind of ethics and way of doing business is the norm.

As many have posted here, CK is a lead generation company which is how they make money. They lure you into applying for CC and loans with teaser rates and guarantees of approval and then when you apply, you get denied. Now they have all your financial info to sell to other loan shark operations.
They tell you how to get rid of your high interest CCs by applying for loans at 35% interest rates. Bait and switch. Can't believe this stuff isn't illegal. Avoid these non bank companies. Call a local bank yourself and speak to a local person.

Do not use this app! They are running a massive scheme with everyone’s money. Never fails, if you have a transaction that gets voided immediately then they literally hold your money for a week or more. Then if it’s a dispute that is in fact proven fraud they make you wait over two weeks to get money refunded!! It’s just an illegal operation that probably has zero ftc backed. It’s a complete scam

I dont know why turbotax send my tax refund to credit karma now I have to struggle to get my money its like a roller coaster I have spent 2 hours just to take to the cs

I took money out of their credit builder and told them it was an emergency and I needed to close my account. They refunded my money then next thing I know my credit score went down 53 points!!! All because I was putting money into their credit builder account which is nothing more than a savings account!! They’re UNBELIEVABLE and should be shut down.

Beware of credit karma money. They are accomplices of fraudsters, they helped to steal my money from my card and refused to return it. When someone unknown tried several times to pay an amount greater than on my account, there was not one message, not one call. The scammer matched the amount to transfer it to the purchase. This damned bank was silent, but when I made a dispute, they did not even listen to my arguments and immediately refused (denied). The worst financial service in the USA. Beware of this organization, cursed Crefit Karma, and you will save money and nerves. Damn you, you stole my hard earned money.

would have gave it a zero if i could. Terrible customer service. Needed help getting back into my account. They took my info and stopped communicating. Terrible service and company to have people identity.

In my personal interactions with CK, everything about these people is suspect. Their "credit rating" process is dubious at best. I have applied for loans recommended by CK, using their "score" as a starting point, only to find, from the lender, that the actual credit score is substantially lower.
I am currently in the process of hoop dancing over a recommended CK loan, and their "guarantee" if said loan was not granted. It has now been several weeks, and numerous communications (just finished a "chat" with "Hector L" who has referred me to the same department that has now been ignoring my previous emails) with CK over their "guarantee". It's only a $50 "guarantee" so it's NOT about the money. It's about Customer Service and keeping a promise. Without the hoop jumping and dancing.
Anyway, I await the next ignored email.....

Very misleading website, always sending you false information about lenders and banks!!!!

I have never had issues with Turbo Tax or Credit Karma. Now, they are giving me the run around about my state tax return. State website says they issued the deposit, Credit Karma says they don't have any info about it because they are an online bank. Well, Varo & Chime don't have this problem and they are online banks. If I ever get my state refund, I am transferring the money out and deleting my Credit Karma account.

I have been given the runaround about my check being sent to me in the mail by them since the beginning of January. It is now almost the end of March. Worst company to work with.

Absolute worst move TurboTax ever made was partnering with Credit Karma. Probably the worst business move in history! 2020 I filed a tax return with TurboTax partnered with Credit Karma, promised early refund if I opened account. So I did. Advancement was accepted, Turbo Tax had filed, IRS accepted...it's 2025!!! Now, March 31, 2025 they'll stop deposits to my account because they will no longer offer this service. It's a constant battle of whose at fault, who is responsible, end of the day...still no refund! Do not get involved with either business!

Credit Karma offers $50 if you apply for select creditcards through their site and are turned down. Last week this happened to me. I used their chat and got to an agent. After explaining my problem the agent abruptly hung up.

I later received an email from customer support stating tht they had confirmed with the bank that I was approved so I'm not qualified for the offer. Problem - they cited a different bank and credit card - from last year. I emailed back the rejection email from last week and got ghosted. The worst part? My credit score dropped by 29 points after being declined. They are nothing but a scam.

I was mislead by a credit card offer. The offer was for Citi card with 0% for 18 months covering a balance I had on another card. I applied and in return Citi card approved for a fraction of the balance and said the card was in the mail. And this was done with a hard credit check, not the promised Credit Karma soft check. Very misleading and upsetting!!

Well I have used credit karma for 3 years now getting my taxes. NEVER again! I try to send money or take money out of the ATM and no matter what amount it declines it. Upon speaking with customer service they say it's a general decline and they can't tell me why or how to fix it...so I can only legit use the debit card and even then it's iffy if it's gonna work

First year with CK for my refund & it’s sucks. I will never use CK again for my refund. I usually use Chime & get it earlier than expected for the last 5 years. I assumed CK was similar since the advertising said up to 5 days early but it’s not. I will not being using TurboTax or CK next year. You shouldn’t either. My deposit date is today & it’s 9am with no deposit.

What kind of banking illegitimate banking institution won’t let you speak to someone on the phone? I had my taxes deposited into a recently opened credit karma account. I do not have access to my money via external transfer. I’ve been getting the run around the lack of knowledge on credit karmas end is appalling- nobody can give me any answers and we’ve been going in circles! Do not bank here it is not worth getting taxes a few days early for it especially when there is no customer service!

I filed my taxes with TurboTax this year and was prompted to create a Credit Karma Spend Account in order to access my refund and refund advance. I applied and was APPROVED. I was able to get my refund advance deposit and a week or so later on 2/18/2025, I logged into the app to check if my state or federal refund had posted to my Credit Karma account, I noticed a red banner at the top of my account saying that my spend account had been frozen for my protection and to call customer service.30 minutes after noticing this, my state refund was deposited to my account. I called several times and was told something different everytime. One rep I spoke to escalated my concern with a case # because he said after looking at my account, there was no reason for it to be frozen, but he couldn't do anything except send my info to the higher ups. I finally called and was transferred to the Resolutions Team. They sent me a link to my phone number and I had to upload my ID and take a selfie, which I did. I passed that verification, but they still will not unlock my account so I can get access to my funds!! The first couple of times calling, I was being hung up on etc. No one had an answer for anything Now, my 6 year old daughter who was born at 23 weeks and depends on medication might be without her medications until this is resolved! As of this complaint, my money is in the account, but is still locked after trying ALL DAY!! File complaints with the FTC, BBB and the Attorney General.

I am not sure why I gave them two stars (too many)! I was with them twice before and quit because they constantly endlessly bombarded me with many notifications with virtually every cup of coffee (too many) that I bought. But I was to try them for a third time. This time they want to send a text which they never did before. Or else you have to photograph yourself and send it to them. Too bad I only have a flip phone at my disposal that does neither. In the last couple days I have been in touch with several financial institutions and they all use a two factor verification. But they also ALL have the ability to call your phone to give you the audible code if you don't text. Even Trustpilot sent me the code through an email. Simple. But the new modernized Credit Karma dinosaur has no such ability to accommodate. It's either what they want or you cannot be their customer. Just another shortcoming among all the others that made be quit twice before!
