I've only bought two watches from Neil, a good year apart between both orders, each time the service has been perfect.

On my most recent order I got an email from Neil within an hour or so saying the watch will ship that day, a few hours later I get tracking info and see its been passed to Royal Mail for delivery. Arrived quickly, all packaged well and all warranty cards etc stamped.

Can't fault the service at all.

I have purchased several watches from Neil. Never any problems. QC is brilliant, always perfect condition and less than 24 hours service. What’s not to like? Highly recommended. Buy with confidence. They even stocked the piece that is sold out EVERYWHERE. (Blue ocean 39 with MOP dial).


I had only read good things in reviews about Neil and Chronomaster before making my purchase. I suspect many reviewers know Neil from face to face meetings or significant interaction over time whereas my experience is limited to my first online transaction with him. And since it was a hassle that left me with no watch and out of pocket (return carriage) it’s not one I will be rushing to repeat.
And, unless the presentation on the website develops, I would definitely only make a further future purchase from Neil after first checking the stock position with him as I think the site is perhaps misrepresenting things a little. It lists a number of items as sold (unavailable) and a number of items as available to buy; the checkout dialogue indicated that the watch should be dispatched within 48 hours but fairly soon after completing my purchase (and paying) Neil emailed me to say that the item had - by amazing coincidence - “just sold out”, that more were due in very shortly and he would dispatch the order promptly when his delivery came in.
A week later with no dispatch confirmation and no update I prompted Neil and he responded that he was expecting his delivery “tomorrow” when he expected to dispatch my order. [Note that throughout this time the watch that I thought was available to buy from stock remained apparently available to any others browsing his website.] The watch was dispatched the following day as Neil indicated/expected and it arrived with me the next day. But unfortunately there was no pin in the middle of the clasp and so the watch just fell apart (thankfully softly into my lap!) when I tried to put it on to size it.
With no clear indication as to whether a replacement would be coming promptly “out of stock” or another week plus down the road (once he sourced a replacement), I returned the watch for a refund which Neil did process very promptly but that still left me out of pocket for the return postage charges.
My conclusion from my experience is that the site appears to list as available for purchase some items that he does not hold in stock but will aim to source once he has your money. I have seen (and used) other sites that do this but next to each item they clearly indicate an expected dispatch date of, say for example, 2 to 3 weeks depending on their experience with that supplier/product. And I don’t have a problem with that as they are upfront in managing your expectations and I don’t expect small businesses to necessarily carry large inventory and tie up capital. But I do feel that Neil and the information presented on the website could do better in managing expectations and I would rather he was straight with me as the “just sold out” explanation rang rather hollow.
Perhaps this is less of a concern for modest purchases (which mine was) but, for a high value purchase, you would be exposed to potentially losing your money (or at best a protracted reclaim process) if Neil’s business (or possibly the business he pays your money to in sourcing your purchase) were to fall into difficulties. Again not necessarily unusual but I think Chronomaster should be straight with purchasers - before payment - if the item being purchased is not going to be promptly delivered from stock since purchasers then face much more risk. To be fair for the very high value items the Chronomaster website does require you to call/email first in order to purchase but for some quite high value (to me) items it does appear that you could just add them to your basket, checkout and pay and then be caught out as I was.

This was by far the best experience I've had with online ordering. Wanted to order a Steinhart Metropole 39mm, out of stock on manufacturer's website. I looked around and stumbled upon Neil's site, ChronoMasters. Found the exact watch I was looking for at a discounted price for being pre-owned (maybe worn once?). Purchase took less than 3 days to receive from the U.K. The packaging was superb and even came with the original box and SKU tag from the manufacturer. This is a beautiful piece and ChronoMasters gave me the chance to find it. I'm still shocked by how quickly I received this watch! Not to mention, I was emailed directly regarding the invoice, a thank-you, as well as shipping updates along the way. Overall, I'd recommend ChronoMasters to any watch collector, enthusiast, or layman looking for a nice piece. Thank you all again, I will be checking your site often from here on.

A really TOP SELLER. purchased on an afternoon and watch arrived early next morning. I purchased the Steinhart ocean one 39 with green ceramic. (Superb Watch for the money). I have owned quite a few high end watches in my time, but after watching and reading reviews on this make, I had to find out for myself. This watch is as good as any, made with quality parts and beautifully finished to a high standard. Recommended to watch snobs who purchase watches for there brand name only... I was after a new Steinhart Ocean One Vintage Red. I thought I would have to go direct to Germany but stumbled across Chronomaster whilst Googling. Emailed Neil late Friday with a question. Response by early Saturday. I ordered and paid. Neil informed me when it was posted on Monday and sure enough it arrived before 1pm on Tuesday. As described.
New. 2 year warranty.
Even came with a bar of Swiss Steinhart chocolate. Don't waste your money paying over the odds on an auction site second hand one as you really don't know what you are getting. I originally bought an auction site second hand Ocean One that looked great but only had a 15 hour power reserve and a service by a local company was £250 !
Buy new for peace of mind and that warranty.

I Purchased a CWC SBS 1987 diver watch from Chronomaster on Friday. Neil was really nice to deal with and could not have been more helpful. The watch is fab! and I was also really pleased with the price. I would definitely recommend contacting Neil if you are looking for another timepiece.
