Unacceptable service failure, misinformation and corporate avoidance at Cork City Cornmarket branch
I presented a valid prescription for a child’s critical medication at the Cornmarket Street branch in Cork. The duty pharmacist turned me away, claiming the medication was completely unavailable across their entire supplier network. This resulted in an expensive, completely wasted trip into the city centre. On the exact same day, I checked two alternative Chemist Warehouse branches, alongside an independent local pharmacy. All three easily confirmed the medication was stable and ready for immediate next-day ordering. Because all branches use the exact same procurement system, this proves a localized failure of basic professional effort and training at the Cornmarket Street branch. When escalated, local management acknowledged the error but refused appropriate retail redress, deflecting blame onto a locum. Worse, when the corporate head office responded, the company’s highest clinical authority explicitly chose to sign the correspondence under a "Data Protection Officer" title. They used a privacy administrative shield to summarily declare a severe patient care complaint "closed" and refused further correspondence. Furthermore, their public-facing customer care email addresses are broken and bounce back, leaving customers with no direct channel to retail management. Turning away patients with false stock information is a dangerous failure of pharmacy standards. Corporate management continues to hide behind administrative titles instead of addressing this branch failure.
Chemist Warehouse Prescription collection frustration
Myself and my husband purchase many products and medications from Chemist Warehouse (primarily Broadmeadows) and although happy overall with staff assistance and products, pricing etc, they really need to come up with a better system for prescription collections.
The following has happened on multiple occasions, last occurrence I was told my prescription would take about half an hour to complete, which is fine as I understand how busy they are, so I do other shopping in the interim.
My issue is whenever I go back to pick up the items, I am surrounded by many people also waiting for their scripts. On the last occasion I was there, there were at least 10 people hanging around, with no formal queueing option. I feel very uncomfortable about approaching the counter as you feel like you are jumping in front of them and many give you a weird look, but not knowing how long they have all been waiting for, then comes the multiple questions to each person, have you been served, how long have you been waiting for etc. As it turns out some had put their scripts in either around the same time as me, some earlier and some only more recently. Everyone seems confused whether to approach the counter and as staff quite often aren’t at the prescription pick up counter, when they do appear to call the odd name out, many customers waiting look around at each other trying to ascertain who has the right to go next. Very awkward !!
It would be a far better system if they had a screen with either a name of script that is ready for collection or a number system allocated at time of submitting it, to advise what scripts are ready, taking out the 2nd guessing during their busier periods. It would be a simple thing to introduce. As each prescription is completed, a number/name is entered, which in turn can be displayed notifying waiting customers.
If this is not doable, at least have a staff member that attends the counter on a more permanent basis, as at present it can take a while for anyone to come to assist which is very frustrating when you’ve been there long after the timeframe initially advised.
It just looks very unorganised and puts people in an awkward position. This has happened on multiple occasions.

I called Chemist Warehouse asking if I could place a review for a recently purchased item and was informed no. I can only place a review if I receive an invite. Therefore I am placing a review here to advise other customers of my experience. I purchased a pair of Maseur Gentle Massage Sandal Black on the 21/05/2026 and after 2 weeks I had to give up using them as they were terrible for my feet. There are much better choices out there so buyer beware. STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
40% off items that didn't exist for sale
Chemist Warehouse had items on special at 40% off, and free shipping over $70. Stock was showing as available so I placed an order paid and receive4d confirmation.Then, it was was cancelled without explanation. 24 hours later, stock was still showing as available so I placed an order, paid , received confirmation and they cancelled again. Stock was always showing as available for delivery but now the items are back to full price and the free shipping offer has finished. It is explained as some system issue "Sorry!".... because the store the order was allocated to didn't have stock. Orders are cancelled even if 1 of 10 items ordered aren't available. If their system is so poor that they are allocating orders to stores that can't fulfill them, and they continue to list the item as "in stock for delivery", then they have no business selling online until their system is corrected. I am relly annoyed as the savings I missed out on medical items were really substantial to this disabled pensioner.

Same product, large price difference between stores
I bought a product from Chemist Warehouse Heidelberg, and my family member bought the exact same item from Chemist Warehouse Balwyn on the same day — but paid $15 more for identical stock.
Today she drove back to the Balwyn store with my receipt and a photo of the product, expecting a simple refund of the difference. She was refused outright and only offered a full refund instead.
It’s very frustrating that the same product can be priced so differently within the same chain, and even more disappointing that no price adjustment was considered. Customers are effectively left to shop around different stores just to avoid being overcharged.

They have an internal IT issue causing no more the 20 products to be purchased online for delivery at a time, however customers are expected to pay shipping twice to put the 20 items through in one order and then the remaining items through on another the lady on the phone was hopeless. Rooting everyone from behind great job Australia’s Number #1 Chemist “why pay more” is your slogan but i’ll make you pay twice for delivery for an IT issue that’s our fault, can’t guarantee you’ll get the second shipping for free if you raise it with our customer service team.

Disgraceful customer service and…
Disgraceful customer service and experience at Manly Chemist Warehouse store in Sydney.
Just to get another two very normal, basic prescribed inhalers the second time, just a less than 10-minute job for the pharmacist to pick up, (another local pharmacy store took just 3 mins).
I waited more than 40 minutes at the counter like an idiot and let everyone in the queue pass by, and I had to cancel another appointment I needed to go before sunset due to the long wait. And this is the second time experience. Have no beef with any staff before, and I am always polite.
But the pharmacist seemed deliberately slowed down to my order to just let me wait longer, deal with other orders first and put my order behind others till I countered him the second time.
I can understand he is careless because the store is a monopoly and he has been working there for a long time and is facing many customers, but I cannot understand and explain his outrageous different treatment and the experience the second time, as I have no beef with him or anyone ever.
This is the second time and it was very obvious terrible treatment and attitude targeted to specfic ethinics. So surely this pharmacist is a racist and terrible guy that need to be avoided.
Yes the prices are higher at this store.

Go somewhere else - it will be less frustrating
Online app is rubbish. I have tried to reset my password hundreds of times - I never get a reset email but I am flooded with advertising from them. Tried to fix it through their helpline - blamed it on a new system. I went online because the service instore is incredibly slow. I used the texting script service and they never fulfil the script or notify me why they haven't fulfilled the script. They don't reply to emails asking why a script wasn't fulfilled. When you ask them about it in store, they don't seem to know how their own online prescription service works. Maybe invest in a better online system and spend some money training your staff.

Ordered 15 items online, over $260. Received an email the following day advising my order was cancelled with no information as to why. Lodged an online enquiry with no response. Phoned and was advised order cancelled as 1 item was not in stock. Why have items available to order online if they are not in stock, why not dispatch the rest of the order and refund the out of stock item rather than cancelling the whole order. Received a refund straight away but didn't receive anything I ordered. Unacceptable. Fix your website so items can't be ordered if not in stock.

Wife brought a pen razor for face from Shellharbour Chemist Warehouse which was defective, took it back was asked a heap of questions what was wrong with it, the manager finally agreed to exchange, we had original receipt this wasn’t good enough he wanted to look at our banking app to prove the purchase amount, how can they do this, I said no u are not looking at my personal information u have the receipt that should be enough, manager had poor English which my wife struggled with as she has poor hearing, he was very rude and submissive, obviously this is something that they are taught in training I won’t be going back to chemist warehouse, they have lost another customer and will tell everyone to avoid.
