Myson Kick space 500 Duo Eco Heater:
23rd August 2021. Heater ordered from BHL (Bumford Heating Ltd)
3rd September 2021 Heater delivered
2nd May 2022 Heater installed in delayed new fitted kitchen
4th October 2022 Email to Myson, following Central Heating start up, Heater not functioning.
8th October 2022 Email from Myson, confirming that the internal thermostat within the base unit has failed and that the unit should be replaced via the original point of purchase as the unit was still within the 2 year warranty period.
10th October 2022 Email to BHL requesting a replacement heater as it was still within the 2 year warranty period.
10th October 2022 Various Emails from BHL. Suggesting that as the unit was over 1 year old and outside their warranty period, that the warranty lies with the manufacturers and that I should contact them. As per BHL's terms and conditions.
18th October 2022 Contacted citizens advice ref the situation as to my rights.
25th October 2022 Their response and I quote “To confirm, the statutory rights we have advised under the consumer rights act are to be argued against the retailer you purchased the item from. These rights cannot be restricted in terms and conditions.”
25th October 2022 Letter sent recorded mail to BHL quoting the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and I quote “Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) goods you supply must be of satisfactory quality. As there was a problem with the goods when I bought them, I request that you provide me with a replacement.”
31st October 2022 Email from BHL stating letter received and I quote “the letter you have sent us is on the Managing Directors desk at the moment. He is currently on holiday and will be back this week, we will be in contact soon.”
9th November 2022 Email from BHL suggesting I take the heater unit to a third party and they will ‘resolve’ it for you. I quote “We have spoken to Wolseley and although this is outside of theirs and our 1 year guarantee, they will resolve it for you. Take the faulty unit into their Hereford branch (3 Harrow Road, Hereford, HR4 0EH), our contact there is Len. Depending on how you want to proceed, they will either process a refund or arrange replacement.”
14th November 2022 Email to BHL. Reminding them of their obligation under the sale of goods act1979 (as amended) and suggesting to them that if they arrange for a fitter to come to my property and remove this unit (I’m not a kitchen fitter) and then when a replacement unit is available, this fitter comes back and refits the unit (I’m not a kitchen fitter) this might rectify the situation.
No response.
21st November 2022 Spoke to this 3rd party organisation and they have confirmed no arrangement had been made……
22nd November 2022 Emailed BHL advising them of the response from this 3rd party company.
I then advised them that they have 1 week to either provide me with a replacement or a refund.
Failing this, I would submit a review on Trustpilot and contact the ombudsman.
28th November 2022 No further response from BHL.

Quick and friendly service
Quick response, phone call to see if we would be at home for delivery, and when asked to drop off at a neighbour did so exactly as requested. Great friendly and efficient service.

Delivery cost not reflective of delivery speed
The product was okay but I paid over £6 for standard order delivery and the order did not arrive for 2 weeks!
I received an email fairly quickly after ordering to say my order had been dispatched but my order still hadn't arrived after about 10 days so I contacted a friendly gentleman called Jerome on the online support to find out where the order was.
Jerome assured me that if a product has been dispatched it does not mean it is on its way for delivery and he informed me that my parcel would arrive on Wednesday.
The order hadn't arrived on the Wednesday so I emailed to ask where my order was and if I would get a refund for delivery cost as paying £6 delivery for an order which doesn't come for 2 weeks doesn't feel like value for money! I was told the parcel would be with me soon and it then suddenly turned up the next day.
Those on the online support and staff via email were helpful but you are unable to track your order (BHL have to speak directly with the driver to find out where your order is) which in my opinion doesn't make the delivery cost acceptable, especially when many other sites charge less and enable you to track your order.

First class delivery. Everything well wrapped and protected. Would certainly consider them for any future purchases as prices were excellent

What you pay for might not be in the box
Ordered a new heating controller. I have received the box of the item I have ordered but in it was a (lower cost) controller from the same manufacturer.
Not sure how this would happen "accidentally"...
The heating engineer I called out to fit it laughed and charged me the call out fee.
Called BHL to be offered no suitable option.
I'll return the item today and take my business elsewhere.

My Fast Response Time.
My online order to BHL was received by them and processed on the 11th October and dispatched with an estimated delivery between the 12th to 17th October; in the event it was actually received at 10:50 hrs on the 13th, a pretty good response time, aided by the efficiency of Evri the courier. My thanks also to Lee Cooper for his assistance and keeping me informed.

Bought a water feature but received no…
Bought a water feature but received no confirmation e mail, so went on chat on their website, and the person I spoke to sent me a confirmation e mail straight away. I received the item within the expected time frame, delivered in perfect condition (although won't be using item till next spring) and all is well. Excellent experience and I would recommend them to anyone.

Poor service
Poor service, courier did not inform me in advance of the delivery, therefore missed them twice. Eventually got the goods but damaged, informed customer services twice about this but still hasn’t been resolved.
