Where do I start
Where do I start. The issues that I have experienced from buying a motorcycle here have pretty much all been turned on the head and made out to be my issues, they make you feel like you are the issue. They have moved premises now and this was the reason I kept being provided for the poor service and delays.
I initially deal with a salesman called ian who was INITIALLY very engaging and talked a good game. The motorbike I bought then went through their garage for the checks and I had already seen the MOT advisory at this point being a blowing exhaust which to be fair to them they did come back to me and said they were not happy with it and will replace it as the mechanic I very particular about things like that. I thought fair enough but then the lengthy delay where 5 days passed no update so I kept chasing and ian kept telling me they are in the middle of moving premises and they can’t fix anything. I then complained and lo and behold the part had arrived that day apparently?? So they said they will get the part time mechanic on it to fix it as he was originally helping with the move. I picked up the bike had to wait 2 1/2 hours and went to set off no fuel in it!
It was only afterwards the aftersales was shocking ian was so rude, dismissive and completely disinterested. I contacted them about the terrible smell of fuel in my garage I took it to a friends garage who said all the carb were leaking. When I rang up he said he will get it in but it was ok to ride. someone then came the next day to pick it up.
Exactly a week later no update from ian, rang and messaged him just kept saying no parts. Eventually I asked to speak with a manager who is still illusive to this day, instead I got dave! I still don’t know who the manager is probably so they don’t find out what goes on. They told me the parts were on back order and I won’t see my bike for some time. I looked on several websites for jap parts, all available next day. Very confusing!!!! My mechanic had ordered the bits I told dave they could use the set I had, they picked the bit up and next day complete. Told me
They were Chinese bits we only use original bits, well the original bits were available everywhere I looked and the kit I bought my friend has used for years and never had a single bike back with an issue. When I got the bike back is the starting point of the very bad side of kjm. The delivery guy put the bike on the drive (this is all on CCTV as explained to dave) he then saw me come out my house said there you go got in the van and drove off. I hadn’t even checked the bike over. I looked at the carbs which were still filthy, a spring hanging out of one of the heater plugs which had not been replaced and all the heater plugs brass fittings were the same ones Obviously they had the whole kit and had the carbs off apparently, so why wouldn’t they replace all the parts because that would mean putting old ones back on.
I rang ian, he was rude and unhelpful and just put me on hold mid sentence and said he wasn’t dealing and dave will.
I feel sorry for dave and you can tell he is a nice bloke but instead of owning issues he just make you feel like you the unreasonable one.
He said oh the driver isn’t a people person, the mechanic said he only needed to replace the parts that were leaking, the carbs were cleaned in the degreaser bath which annoyed me why lie, I got some brake cleaner and they were all clean and no stains which took 2 mins. This is basics. I said if they have not used what I provided I wanted the rest of the kit back. The fuel tank trim Was missing which must have already been like that until I showed them a picture the day before with it on. Dave was to find out and ring me back, he did ring back and it was just excuses. He was going to locate the trim and the parts and get them back to me. He hadn’t offered to pay for the kit of mine they used so I mentioned this and he said when the Yamaha kit came he will send me that to replace it.
The day after they returned the bike I thought I’ll give it a run out and while on the drive noticed a dint in the brand new aftermarket exhaust can on the right side with flakes of white paint, I looked at the other side and the rubber on the can strap was ripped. I checked my cctv and the guy wheeling it out the van bangs the can on van and the bike stops! No wonder he was in a rush to leave. I rang ian he dismissed me and said dave will contact me, nothing for a week again.
This is where I am at now, I got hold of dave who is going to ask the driver lol! What difference that will make I have no idea. If they told me they degreased carbs they were filthy and the tank trim was not on the bike I’m sure they will say the brand new exhausts fitted the previous day were already dinted with white paint on! If I don’t get any joy I will make a civil claim. I hope the mystery manager reads this.
Still not had the replacement kit and they lost my fuel tank trim so I purchased a new one which they didn’t offer to pay for.
