It is absolutely brilliant to hear that the new Deceuninck 2800 flush casement windows have so completely transformed your Andover workshop and showroom. Agate grey is a stunning choice, and the Graf welding really does provide that seamless, premium finish.

I will be sure to pass your high praise on to the installation team. Powering through the extra hot weather to deliver a stunning job is a real testament to their hard work and dedication, and they will be thrilled to read your comments.

We are incredibly proud of our straightforward approach from the initial quote right through to manufacturing and installation. Mark Pearce Managing Director replied in June 2024 with this email to Robert Hall.

Good evening Robert

I have all the complaint emails you made about the doors initially and sadly there is no mention of the doors not operating properly. You tried to reduce the balance owed by making various allegations against KJM, most of which in my opinion lay at your builders failure to put the bottom course at the correct level.

I have not contacted the manufacturers because there currently is no reason to do so. The surveyor said what I have already told you, both doors are not working because both thresholds are falling away towards the corner post. If the thresholds are not level then the doors will not function correctly. As many of my previous emails state to you, at your request the doors were set at the lowest level possible so on the brick/block course beneath. The doors were not packed at all on the threshold so are reliant on what they are sat on. The fact that both doors have the same problem points to the stability of the underside of the doors.

Although I cannot be certain, I am 99% confident that the brickwork beneath is the cause. So if we remove the doors and this is the case are you going to foot the bill for our time? Our warranty is based on faulty products, not what they are sat on. With the doors removed if there is a big enough gap at the top we could pack underneath to level them, but if this continues to fall away the problem will return.

Just like you I would like a resolution but not at my expense if we are not the cause of the fault.

We then offered the following:-

Hi Robert

That is the problem, the doors did work, so something has shifted under the doors. So I would refer you to my original email sent a few weeks ago

“Good morning.

I’ve been made aware that the bifold doors are not operating properly because the frame threshold on the doors has dropped. I understand a solution has been offered to remove the doors and see if we can level them up again.

The purpose of the email is to clarify that if it is found that this is due to the brickwork underneath the doors (I believe we sat the doors direct to the brickwork to get the threshold level as low as we could) then this will of course be chargeable to you.

Please can you confirm that you are happy to proceed on this basis”

An email from Robert Hall stated the following (contrary to the review)

“Thanks for the email and I think you're right about being on the brickwork without shims. What's the proposal to take out and re-fit, how do you think that might work?

I also agree that the door support is off level, but it could have been off level at the start. What makes me think it may have been off before is that there is no evidence elsewhere of movement. Even the slightest movement in the front part of the house (the original part that can't have moved) has led to some cracks.”
