I manage a non-profit that runs summer camps. Due to COVID-19, there were parents who registered their kids for camp but decided to not send them, so refunds were required to be issued. Since some o... Mehr ansehen

Do not use Wepay
Do not use Wepay. I got an email at 2 am saying they froze 2 weeks of income. When I called to find out why I got thrown around between 5 different departments every employee passing me off. 2 weeks later the most I could get out of them was for PROPRIETARY reasons we will be shutting your account down. I have had zero disputes and run a legitimate small business. Absolutely unacceptable. They are also holding the income for 120 days and sending it back to the customers. What a mess.
Awful ZERO business class say NO to CHASE and WEPAY
Awful! They are holding our money for 30 days for suspicious activity, we have had no charge backs and now we have run credit cards in the thousands that they will not release to us. Total BS! Making all my cash flow go negative! This is just not right and they should be stopped... first they told us a 3 day hold then today oh we have to close your account AND your not getting your money for 30 days! Now left with no processor!! WTH !!
Don't use WEPAYwit in chase
As a former employee they use social media, customer reviews to decide if you will have a account or if you get your money 💰 we will place your fund under review just because we can and don't care about your business needs you are better off with square at least they actually care about your business
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! Warning!!! They are crooked and move very slow to push transactions through. I called about 8 times over the past week and was lied to many times, and the last call i got angry and they ended up closing my account because i threatened them if they didn't push the transaction through that they were dragging their feet on. DO NOT use this service! There are many other payment processing companies that have their stuff together, unlike this company and their operation.
We changed our depositing bank account…
We changed our depositing bank account (still registered to our business) WePay flagged it and refused to deposit thousands of $ worth of customer payments they had collected. Held our funds ransom requiring all newly updated documentation even though nothing changed except that we moved banks.
It has been weeks where they do not provide any way to communicate other than through an email thread where a different rep provides vague requests for new documentation after meeting each prior demand with little clarity as to why they are requesting it... We still have not received our funds which are now nearing 10s of thousands.
Do not use this company, their customer support is poor, they charge far too much to process payments compared to competitors, and you run the risk of getting your funds hijacked with little information as to why.
Buyer beware
Don't use WePay
WePay is not a reputable processor. They have held our money for over a month and have not returned any communications as to why they stopped processing our transactions.
Support is dismal to say the least.
Negative Zero is the only why to…
Negative Zero is the only why to describe this company. I had a transaction come through on February 1, 2023 I was told that it was in review and it takes up to two business before payment will be released. ( That’s fine I understand the wanted to make sure it wasn’t a fraudulent transaction) On February 6th I call them back and they stated oh it’s still in review but since it’s been two days I can go ahead and expedite this and either they need to release the funds or send some type of documentation asking for additional information. Within 60 minutes of me hanging up I get an email stating that the payment has been cancelled and they are requesting that it gets processed outside. Now I have already sent the customer their order and now I have to call the customer and get payment again. Customer service is a joke your on hold with them just to tell them that they can’t find your account so you have to keep calling back until you find someone who knows how to do their job. I have been on the phone just today alone with 8 different people who just can’t find my account but I spoke with someone earlier who had no problem finding it. I have been transferred to several different places. After all of that my problem still has not been resolved. If you are looking to play a game with your funds and business then by all means sign up with Wepay. If you are trying to run a successful business I suggest that you look at other companies.
For starters they have No contact…
For starters they have No contact number, horrible customer service. We use them for 3 payments and only one was successful, the other two got held and then they closed my account with no explanation.
I have been a chase business customer…
I have been a chase business customer for years. I process a lot of credit card payments and was excited when they added wepay option. Signed up and was immediately disappointed. I have had issue after issue with wepay and the most frustrating part is that the customer service agents can’t do anything to help you. I will def be switching back to my old processor and would say do not even consider wepay, it’s a joke.
Completely Unresponsive
Completely unresponsive to emails which is the only support option they provide. They claim that they respond within two business days, meanwhile it's been 6 business days with no response. No phone number available with over $22,000 of funds that I have no idea where they have gone.
WePay is A Scam With No Customer Service
For the last few months, WePay have consistently been randomly holding up my money with no notice, telling me I need to fix some tax info that doesn't line up, telling me it's fixed, release my money many days to a week later as customer service is all thru email and often takes days to get a response, I get a different person every time so no one understands the full picture of what I am dealing with re: this company and every time I finally get help, they do the easiest possible solution to move me along and then I have another issue soon after and have 0 dollars to operate my business or pay bills with and never anyone to talk to about it. I am switching to Stripe as soon as the funds finally transfer, it's insane that they are allowed to operate much less part of a huge corporation like Chase Bank now-- a bank that is historically horrific to deal with. In fact, I ever had these issues until Chase took WePay over. Avoid at all costs. I operate a small dogwalking biz and the profit margins post-COVID barely exist. Shame on them. The only reason I made contact with anyone to figure out what is going on with my money held up today was by going thru the app I process payments with WePay thru and threatening to leave unless they got me an answer immediately.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I've been trying to get my money from them since February (over 6 months!!!) and still cannot receive the help I need from them. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he told me the exact same thing as the agent before him, which was absolutely unhelpful. They sent money to my bank account once, then paused all deposits and told me: "the bank account information you supplied is not working" every time I tried to link that same bank account again...
The WePay support is non-existent
The WePay support is non-existent. There is no way to contact support directly - as in speak to a human. Any response is a canned email message.
It feels like they are living in the old days of 10:00-3:00 banking when there were people were beholden to the banks and were treated as if it was a privilege to actually speak to a banker. I thought the financial industry had evolved from those days. Sadly, I guess not.
If you can avoid using WePay (and the parent company Chase) you should at least until they find a way to provide customer service to their paying customers.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Canceled a non-profit/charity account before the first donation was accepted. No reason why, they just did it.
Avoid at all cost.
Lawyers and CFPB are involved
Lawyers and CFPB are involved. Enough said!
Utter waste of time and demeaning
Could never get my bank account verified. Every request for help got me an automated email saying I'd get a response in 1-2 business days; even just to reset a password. No tech support; no help page; no chat help, no one to talk to. Patronizing emails. When my payment didn't go through I got this, "This can happen for a variety of reasons. We recommend working with the person you were attempting to pay before submitting this payment again." Thanks for nothing.
WePay was inconvenient, an enigma, and useless.
I wish I could give WePay ZERO stars!
I wish I could give WePay ZERO stars! And I wish I would have looked here before signing up with them. They haven't had a 5-star review in 2 years, and have ONLY 1-star reviews for the last year. It sounds like the company might have been good years ago (or those are all fake reviews, more likely), but they are awful now. I had no problem opening the account and linking it to Authorize.NET (ANET) or my business checking account. I tried to run a test transaction to myself, which ANET had no problem with, but WePay rejected it. I tried with a different card, and WePay rejected it. I reached out to them and they said they don't allow test transactions or transactions from someone with your own name (even with a non-related credit card). So the only way I would know if it was working was to pay a friend to use her credit card to run a transaction. There's no way I was invoicing a customer on a system that I haven't tested. And I'm glad I didn't, because it was a major fail. I had a friend pay $10 with her credit card on sunday June 26th. That was a Sunday, so ANET settled it on Monday the 27th. WePay didn't even acknowledge it in their system until Wednesday the 29th - 2 business days later, and 3 business days after the actual charge was made. It is now July 6th - 10 days from the transaction date - and the payment is STILL "under review"! Apparently WePay has a review process for transcations. I was told "it happens more often for new accounts", which means that it happens to non-new accounts too. This company is an absolute joke! DO NOT use them unless you don't care if you ever get your money!
Horrible experience
If I could give WePay no stars that would be the rating. I recently received payment from a client in the form of a digital card. This was my first time using WePay. There was an instant review of my account for 4 days and after the fourth they sent an email stating my account would be closed. No one can explain as to why the account is closing after my very first payment. I've shown all documentation that the business is legit and it's been a week later and I'm still waiting on a supervisor to call me back.
Really bad service and system
Really bad service and system , i really don't know how chase use them to handle payment transaction, late response system approve then denied transaction with any explanation. Please don't use them , use paypal better working system.
Don't bother, terrible company.
Your businesses reputation and income are far too important so I highly recommend against using WePay as they might damage the relationship you have with your customers and cost you time and money.
We are an established business representing the estate of a rather famous artist from the UK. We’ve been selling art related products over the last few years without issue. In fact, after several hundred orders we’ve had no issues with payments or complaints with Stripe or SquareUp and just one dispute with Paypal, (a damaged item received which we resolved).
Then we added WePay through our Ecwid store and an order came through for $231.99, our first and only order with WePay. Two days later I received an email stating:
“Unfortunately, we can no longer support your business and we'll need to cancel any pending payments."
And they canceled the order in our store!! It happened without our knowing and it doesn’t make us look very reputable because, WePay IS NOT reputable.
Why was this? Because they decided that our “account is susceptible to a high chargeback or dispute rate.” However, if we only had this one sale, no other activity, no chargebacks, no disputes, nothing, and a track record of success, then this decision is unsubstantiated.
Many others have similar complaints and if the WePay response is true, that their “processor holds them to high standards and has rules regarding accounts that are seen as high-risk” THEN WHY DIDN'T THEY DEEM US A A RISK TO BEGIN WITH?
Why would anyone ever want to do business with such an untrustworthy company like WePay? If we lose this sale or our reputation is damaged, that negatively impacts our business.
If you read their reviews/complaints, they have a consistent track record of holding money hostage and damaging a businesses reputation.
Customer service is non existent, they replied to me with the exact same email as they sent the first time, no personal service and no explanation. Absolutely terrible company.
