Fraudulent 1099-K from a fraudulent company. My second bad experience with WePay.
WePay withheld my clients funds in their "Reserve Account", closed my account, and refunded the money back to the client after weeks of protest. The money never touched my account, however, WePay issued me a 1099-K for the invoiced amount that was never received, then reported those unearned funds to the IRS as income.
There is no customer service whatsoever. When you call the number on the 1099, you receive an automated recording that repeats itself. This damaged they caused will not be easily corrected.
Read the reviews - this company need to be shut down and class action lawsuits filed. WePay is not acting in good faith, they are bad actors, and a rogue company.

This company is a scammer and they should not be allowed to operate. Useless, heartless, worthless company ever. Everything about them is zero and full scams. Useless customer service, heartless support team. They are designed to destroy companies. Especially startup businesses.
WePay is the worst credit card processor
Being in business from 2006 I had many payment processing systems but WePay is absolutely the worst one. Choose anybody else just don’t trust with your money to WePay, Their “top of the line Smart Terminal” is very outdated and using very old technology- But biggest problem is the company itself, they’ll screw you as soon as they have opportunity. This is company which will always work against you ,not for you.
If you ever get chargeback from the customer they’ll always take customers side, not yours. They don’t take their useless equipment back and you will just loose your mob

I would give them 0-Stars if I could. Suddenly and for no reason that they would explain, they not only stopped accepting credit card payments from my customers but payments made by customers were refunded back to them. Sounds absurd because it is. Terrible company. They damaged my cash flow with their unjustifiable actions.
These people are the worst
These people are the worst. They make it almost impossible to work with them. First they take control of your money and will not release it until they are satisfied with all the unneccary documents they ask you to provide. I gave everything from Articles of Incrp, Sunbiz annual reports, licenses, utilities, etc..and they still refused to release my funds, ultimately telling me after a month of back and forth that they rejected my claim and will hold the money I earned for 120 Days before releasing it back to the client I serviced...which means I won't be able to go after those funds and walk away with nothing. Do not work with these vultures. These people deserve everything torturous that comes to them.

For some reason, they are holding all transactions for all clients for 120 days.. Been using them for over 2 years with no disputes or chargebacks, but for some reason started this October, the started holding all transactions for 120 days..Class Act in the works.
Deceptive standards
Wepay started off a great company processing my business services invoices, anything less than $2,000, but the minute I try to process a $4,900 payment for services, they immediately decline the transaction and tell me that I need to process it off Wepay. Let's face it, backed by JP Morgan and they cannot process a $5,000 business services payment. I will never use them again nor will I recommend them to anyone.

this service used to be one of the best i have ever used. now their "trust and safety" team is ran by literal nazis who demand document after document and trying to tell me that my address is not my address. um i'm pretty sure i know where my business is located and some guy behind a computer screen in probably a different country does not. avoid this service at all costs!

WePay ALWAYS sides with the customer on chargebacks. We are a logistics company so our transactions can take days or even weeks to complete from beginning to end. We have had a few chargebacks in the last year and we have provided signed contracts, signed receipts, pictures, emails, texts and recorded phone calls from throughout the transaction and they still side with the customer who is committing fraud. They take the money from us and when we ask for the case to go into the appeal process they simply reply the matter has been closed and we should look to address this directly with the customer. They are in the process of doing it yet again to us for almost $4,000. It appears they simply don't want to deal with it so they just dump it on their merchants.

Absolutely horrible. Would not ever use again. Our small business Used WePay for only days to try it out. Had a chargeback request from a customer. First one in thousands of transactions/sales after 13 years in business. WePay asked to concede or challenge. I challenged as we have proof that goods and services were 100% delivered and used for duration of event. We provided full documentation limited to 5. They did not respond and have pulled monies from our account back to customer. We are justified as a business and now are looking at small claims court option as Chase WePay could not have properly read the documents and sides with client in the wrong. The lack of communication and proper evaluation is beyond frustrating and now very costly

They put it under review for 4 days. i had to provide more information then i did for both a business loan and a personal loan. Finally approved it, and still did not post to our business account.
"Customer Delight Team" is an insult
I would not use this company again if my life depended on it. I would not wish WePay customer service on my worst enemy.
There is no good way to get in touch with the "Customer Delight Team" (least delightful experience I've ever had, by the way). There is no contact phone number, nor a live chat option, only a ticket request form and a customer support email address that may or may not respond to you. If they do choose to respond, they often take days to do so. My team wasted hours upon hours of our time across multiple departments simply trying to get a straight answer from WePay.
Multiple clients of my company who requested refunds were not refunded by WePay, and WePay would not give any explanation as to why.
This company will harm your credibility as a business and you will lose customers. Do not entrust them with any of your finances. Shame on JP Morgan for allowing this kind of ineptitude.

The only reason I clicked on one star is because there is not a review with zero stars!
Our organization is out approximately $1200 because we pay does not recognize who we are! And that after processing us for two years. Some of the money has been refunded, but we cannot confirm that the rest of the money has been refunded to our donors. I would never ever recommend we pay or their owners for any transactions whatsoever, and will never use them for banking business.
WePay are criminals that need to be stopped
Sadly I found out too late that WePay is crooked. Many businesses have the same story, randomly stopped processing payments, held funds and refuse to release to me or refund to clients and it's been 70 days and counting. I've read businesses never get their thousands of dollars back even 1+ year later. Seriously considering a class action lawsuit against these criminals.

I recently started my own business and decide to use WePay for credit card processing. It was recommended by the accounting software I use, and is a subsidiary of JP Morgan, so I trusted it would be a good service. I process 2 credit card payments. The first one went threw easily, and I had no issues. The 2nd payment I process went into review. Two days later I get an email that my account is closed and my client is being refunded. That same day I get an email that they are not refunding the client, but instead holding the money for 120 days, and then will determine IF it'll be released.
I sent several emails asking why my account was being closed, why they're holding this money and not refunding my client. I kept getting the same copy and pasted answers. I then researched them further and found several BBB complaints about this happening to other businesses and the money never being recovered by the business or their client after the 120 days. There is no live person to talk to, no live chat support, nothing. They eventually just stopped replying at all.

Because they don't pay. i have email proofs stating the money will be deposited in my bank in 1-3 business days but for 9 days nothing and then reached out to them and poof account closed. your business is 'High risk"... no chargebacks ever... no nothing and on top 120 days funds freeze and even after that i have to request them... idk frustrated(we are a web design company)
