Avoid like the plague

Placed an order on the weekend, realised very quickly it was not going to work with what I was after so I cancelled the order straight away.
No full refund given! Absolutely livid... could understand if it had been processed but id cancelled before anything had actually happened... will avoid this company like the plague on future!

I ordered the Hanah sideboard from Vaunt Design. Initially, I was quite unsure about buying heavy furniture online—what if the quality or look isn't what I expected? This is common with online purchases and also involves the hassle of returning if something isn't right. So, I finally took the plunge and bought the sideboard to upgrade my old TV unit. Despite all my doubts, the sideboard was delivered in perfect condition. It looks lovely. I'm not too sure about the door opening mechanism, but I hope it will stand the test of time. Comfortable and stylish

I found vauntdesign.com accidentally when searching for a bar stool for the garden so I can sit by my raised pond and watch the fish! The bar stool is comfortable, well proportioned and stylish, delivery was prompt and trouble free. I am very impressed with the quality, souch so that I am saving up for the set to use in my kitchen.

AVOID ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY

AVOID ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY. The bar stools I received were beyond unacceptable. They arrived with a strong, unmistakable smell of manure. It was absolutely vile and overwhelming. It made the chairs unusable from the moment they were unpacked. It was so bad that it may have actually been toxic.

What made this even worse was the complete lack of customer service. I reached out multiple times to report the issue and ask for a resolution, whether that be a replacement, return, or refund. Every single attempt was ignored. They eventually responded AFTER I left a bad review, to offer me a 10% refund, which was completely pathetic, and a tactic just to get me to change my negative review. After offering this to me, they once again disappeared. No refund was issued, multiple emails once again ignored thereafter. It’s been almost 2 months and I have heard nothing.

This is not just poor quality control, it’s a complete failure of basic customer care. When a company sends out products in that condition, that are very likely toxic and harmful to your health, and then refuse to engage with the customer, it shows a total lack of respect and accountability.

Avoid Vaunt Design at all costs. There are plenty of other companies out there that actually care about their customers and the quality of what they sell. This experience was disgusting, frustrating, and a complete waste of money.

They will probably respond to this review and make up some sort of fake story to make themselves look great (as they do with all their marketing), but do not believe what they say. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Regarding the smell, this is caused by an organic eco-treatment used on some of our packaging boxes. We have identified this as an issue and are already in the process of resolving it with our packaging suppliers.

Poor

I’m very sorry to report that the experience has been extremely disappointing.

The first shelf I received arrived with a manufacturing defect and was not standing straight. It was then replaced a week later with another unit that unfortunately had the exact same issue.

It goes without saying that I won’t be purchasing anything else from your company. Especially considering the shelf cost over £250, this was far from IKEA-level pricing, yet unfortunately the quality was clearly faulty.

Overall, this is not a website I would recommend.

Second time i have used as quality of…

Second time i have used as quality of product is great
Price of items although slightly higher than nor.al stores the quality outweighs other cheaper brands. Bar stools bought at 150 pounds each compared to cheap stools at around same price. You can defo tell and see the quality and a talking point.

I recently ordered a 3 seater garden…

I recently ordered a 3 seater garden sofa. I absolutely love it and it looks gorgeous in my gazebo and appears to be very well made and of extremely good quality. The cat loves it also. It was delivered quickly and efficiently with plenty of communication from the courier and questions I had prior to going ahead with the order were also dealt with efficiently. A huge bonus for me was that it arrived ready assembled and I have no hesitation in recommending this company to others.

Quality stools

Quality stools, the guys at the end of the phone were super helpful when there was an issue with the courier and sorted immediately. Can’t fault the company, will use again!

Very happy with my beautiful oak coffee…

Very happy with my beautiful oak coffee table. Solid, well designed and has the feeling and look of a quality piece of furniture but at a good price. I will definitely be buying more from vaunt design.

I honestly wish I had never ordered from Vaunt Design. The bar stools I received were beyond unacceptable. They arrived with a strong, unmistakable smell of manure. I want to sincerely apologise for the experience you have had with your recent order. Reading your review, I completely understand your frustration, and I want to personally address the issues you have raised.

First, I am incredibly sorry about the condition in which your bar stools arrived. The strong, overwhelming odour you described is completely unacceptable. We have looked into this, and this specific "manure" smell is caused by the packaging rather than the stools themselves. When recycled cardboard is produced, the breakdown of the materials can release specific organic compounds. If the aeration process to remove these compounds is missed, or if the cardboard absorbs any moisture during transit, it can releases a concentrated, foul-smelling odour. While we can assure you that this is a byproduct of the recycled paper and is not toxic, it is deeply unpleasant and absolutely not the experience we want for customers such as yourself. For that, I am truly sorry.

Secondly, I must address the severe communication breakdown you experienced. I have personally investigated this matter and can see on our system that our customer service team has issued a prompt response to each email you have sent us. We are genuinely unsure as to why these replies have repeatedly failed to reach your inbox but we can only apologise for the frustration and dissatisfaction that has been caused as a result.

I want to make it absolutely clear that we are in no way ignoring you or the valid issues you have raised. We never want a customer to feel disregarded, and I am deeply sorry for the immense frustration this apparent radio silence has caused you. We take full accountability for ensuring our customers are looked after.

Our priority is to provide you with a swift and satisfactory resolution to this problem. Because our emails have proven unreliable in reaching you, a member of our customer service team will be reaching out by phone shortly to speak with you directly and get this resolved for you immediately.

Very pleased with my purchase

I bought the small Okazu trinket bowl to actually use in the kitchen to hold a seasoning mix. It looks great on my kitchen surface and is easy to scoop up a pinch of seasoning for cooking. I’ve now just bought 4 more which I will use for gifts for friends and family. I will give them together with a large tub of Cornish Sea Salt & Peppery!

Damaged item but refund received

Sent item too damaged to work and their customer service would not respond until I left a poor review publicly. They have since given a refund but were incredibly slow.

Poor customer service

I really liked the look of Vaunt; the website, the design of products, fair price points, and where and how the products are made by partners in India and other places. So I ordered shelves. They arrived, and look great, but are without the instructions of how and where to position two vital struts. I emailed three separate times (no response whatsoever), and called four times. I've now given up, and won't be ordering from them again. There's no excuse for such poor service.

High return costs

I have purchased VauntDesign Jord Stoneware Mug and Vaunt Design Aska Coffee Mugs set. Unfortunately, they were a bit of a letdown for me, given the glorious hand picked and unique style as advertised, the mugs were quite heavy and made from thick ceramic. The outer surface has a slightly rough texture, almost like fine sandpaper, and there are some visible marks. They don’t quite give me the impression of unique handmade pieces — they feel more like something produced in a standard ceramic workshop rather than the artisanal finish I was expecting. Returned.
Please be aware of returns policy - returns for 6 piece of mugs were quoted with £15 charge (as of Feb 2026).

Delivered the wrong item then made me…

Delivered the wrong item then made me wait to receive the correct item (whilst they collected the wrong item),
so I couldn't gift item when needed. I raised concern and got no reply - poor service in my opinion.
