So, my bank account ALWAYS tags this as suspicious activity and I have to do it twice. I've used these folks for many years and never have had issues with the receiver getting the money or fraudulent activity on my account. Now, sadly, I always just expect the first transaction will be declined, I have to tell my bank it's cool, and try again. But my friend always appreciates the sentiments so it's worth it. I keep coming back for a reason.

I buy most of my gift cards through this website. They often send out coupon codes that discount their fees, which makes the online purchase worthwhile. The discount code I wanted to use did not apply to the fees charged for "boxed" plastic gift cards, just the "unboxed" ones. So, went with those.

The selections are great & the site is normally easy to use. Only downside is that I have to reset my password EACH & EVERY TIME that I log in! WHY? I write it down, so I know it is correct when I enter it!

Absolutely stay away from buying these cards. They have non-existent help. You can not speak to a person. Their phone system gives you options but NEVER to speak to someone. Additionally, with an active card and sufficient funds it got rejected by Amazon. Amazon can not tell you why it was rejected and they point you back to VanillaGift. This is a horrible company and just want to take your money when you can't purchase things and won't help you resolve issues.
3/27 VanillaGift reached out via email with a link to provide "additional" information which was only more personal information and a reference number (that could mean any one of three things). Question for Customer Support Team...have you actually ever tried using your integrated voice response (IVR) system to try and get to a real person? My personal belief is this is by design. If the company makes it extremely difficult/impossible to resolve issues they anticipate consumers giving up which then leaves all the money consumers paid for the card as pure profit for the company.

UPDATE - STILL TRYING TO GET MY $500 BACK FROM THIS COMPANY AND STILL GIVING ME THE RUN-AROUND. SO MUCH FOR A CHRISTMAS PRESENT. NOW IT IS ABOUT PRINCIPLE. I HAVE PROVIDED THEM WITH THE RECEIPTS AND THE CARDS NUMBERS THAT DON'T WORK AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT REFUNDED ME MY MONEY.

I could give a "0" I would. Purchased 2x$250 vanilla prepaid visa gift cards from Wal-mart and both did not work. Keep in mind this was back in December 2025. Here we are in mid-March and after numerous attempts providing them with the required documents they still have not reimbursed me with a replacement cards or my money back. I keep getting the run around that the dispute department is looking into it.

I got a $25.00 Vanilla Gift card from Walmart, because I had a $12,000 domain name that I had to renew. I activated it online, but it wouldn't let me set it up for online use, so I called the number on the back of the card, and asked them if they could set it up for me. I gave them the card number, and info to set it up for me for online use... They said that the card wasn't a card on their system, and then they made a purchase on eBay for $24.47 without my permission. The same company that I trusted Vanilla Gift was the same company that defrauded me out of my money on a card that I bought from walmart, that was one of Vanilla Gift the company's cards that they sell. I disputed it, and I have to wait 45 to 90 days to get my money back, while they make money off of the interest before they have to give it back to me. So, I had a little over $22.00 left on the card, and it was placed on hold...a gift card! The only...the only solution was to send me a replacement gift card for the balance. I can't stop laughing at the stupidity. It's a gift card, not a debit card or a credit card. Synchrony must be involved with this company. Just another way to scam people out of money. If I truly needed it right now, I would be screwed. Some homeless people receive gift cards...sooooo, they are going to wait for you to mail it where? You guys sound ridiculous. It's a gift card! This isn't the only issue I have ever had or heard of. I'm done, shame on me. I will never purchase one again from this company. I have too many other options to use my money on. I bought a pack of gift cards for the holidays, and I am using what I didn't give out or use last year myself. Now I'm just ranting out of frustration. Anyway, just don't buy gift cards from this company, even though it appears they have a monopoly on the market.

absolute WORST and lamest "gift card" visa. first off it states no where that there are certain places you cannot use the card. its a VISA! isn't that accepted almost anywhere? well not according to vanilla gift. tried first and declined so tried again cause i had more than enough and declined. called customer service and now my card is no good and i have to wait 7-10 days for a new card. sounds like an absolute scam to me to hold onto YOUR FUNDS. this company should be out of business. that's a couple hundred dollars i received as a gift that i couldn't use and have to wait 7-10 days for a replacement that i hope works or i am in the same boat.
