I left the following review on google and had a call from the director Matthew asking me to take it down - I did agree but my husband said no other customers need to know - I’ve now found other reviews that had similar experience and can see a pattern of anyone who leaves a less then perfect review will get a “management call” - I thought these reviews were for the customer benefit so we know what could happen and how it’s handled??
The fitters were lovely but we had to miss our grandbabies 3rd birthday celebration because they needed to work late 9.45 pm! There were a few problems with the fit (they forgot to fit our cat flap which we had to supply to the surveyor) so we ended up staying up until the early hours until our cats came home (3 nights) ! Some windows that they tried to fit were the wrong size and had to be reordered - all that I can deal with - but what absolutely ruined the experience was the office staff (won’t mention names) were harassing with their constant phone calls for payment! I told them I would pay the balance immediately the work was completed satisfactory- but when they came to repair and replace the windows that were broken/didn’t fit on installation- even before the fitter had finished they were on the phone 6 TIMES in less than 5 mins wanting payment! - then the receptionist told the fitter not to leave until I had paid! He did leave my house but returned 2 mins later as instructed by his employer! I felt totally harassed ! The final bill was paid immediately- but I won’t now use this company or recommend them again

Thank you for the review and the feedback. I believe all reviews need a response and I would like to provide more clarity to the situation mentioned above. In saying this I really appreciate your custom and your feedback even though obviously disappointed you felt necessary to go to the internet to tarnish our name on another platform.
Initially you left a 3star review on google to which I investigated fully and Mrs Williamson had agreed that she was very annoyed at the time and volunteered to take it down before being asked by me. Of course I agreed and would encourage it as negative reviews affect our business, google ranking and can be very damaging as they last forever. However when we spoke I apologised for the issues that we faced on your job and the issues were fixed very quickly and with as little hassle possible.
With home improvements issues can arise and they did on your job but at Universal we prioritise fixing issues as efficiently as possible and Mrs Williams was complimentary of our quality products, how quickly issues were resolved and the overall installation.
The issue with the payment was a communication error that I accepted but Mrs Williams was made aware prior to us starting the installation that payment would be asked on completion of the work and the reason we ask for it before the fitters leave is so if there is a reason why your aren’t completely satisfied or a snagging issue it can be rectified there and then rather than us coming away and having to come back at a later date to snag or fix said issue. To which I was informed this was the main reason for the negative review however if it was explained properly as I have now, I am sure you will agree it makes sense to ensure complete satisfaction and cleared payment for the reasons mentioned.
I apologize you found it necessary to leave another review on this platform and that you have gone back on your word about taking it down. I quote again that Mrs Williams said she would take it down as she did it in haste and after my apology she appreciated the call and was going to remove it on her own accord.
I will always investigate every complaint and offer an apology or training where necessary and as I said we definitely had issues on your job and communication could of been clearer from our end. It just disappoints me that you feel necessary to leave us a negative review on now multiple platforms.
However I will never worry about things outside of my control and I am happy I had the chance to talk with Mrs Williams and I thank you for custom. If you do need anything in the future Mrs Williams has my number and as promised I will offer a further discount on any future work and I will do the best I can for you if given another opportunity to impress you with our service, quality and products once again.

Amazing top quality service & product.
Harry and Gippy, were honestly one of the most professional hardworking guys I have ever come across, they completed a bay window with three top openers, bedroom window with side opener & top opener. They worked in 30 degree heat upwards no moaning, and installed quite magnificent quality made windows as promised from the sales / office / installation team.
Very impressed generally with Universal Windows Ltd, efficient communication from all levels and attended a site tour yesterday with a contracts manager which was a great experience.

Window replacement
Kam and onker arrived on time to fit my new window last Thursday and from the moment they started to the time they finished everything went smoothly, they removed my old one and fitted new one very professionally, they cleaned all mess up and even put my vertical blinds back up for me. Great job really pleased with result.

Great quality windows and doors and…
Great quality windows and doors and they phoned us regularly to check everything was going well during the installation. Kam and Onkar phoned us each time to let us know they were 40 minutes away. They were lovely and professional and cleaned up everything afterwards. All the recycling was taken away and handled by them too :)
A week after installing, one of the doors dropped and stopped locking but they came round the same day to adjust the door and now it locks perfectly again.

We came across Universal Trade Windows…
We came across Universal Trade Windows from a doorstep salesman, being told they were conducting work in the area, and due to this, there would potentially be discounts on a price for us. That salesman Tyler, I will say, was friendly and polite and there didn't seem any pressure.
I then began to get phone calls from the office to arrange an appointment for another person to come round, show us the products and measure up for a quote. My husband had needed to pop out and therefore they said they would need to re-arrange as they needed both myself and my husband present.
Fast forward to the next week and we had a salesperson by the name of Lisa, who was again friendly. The products themselves looked good and we were happy with the company's relevant certifications. Now, the price. There were some maths done by the Lisa under the cover of a folder so we couldnt see, a phone call to the office and a dicount applied from the leaflet left by the doorstep salesperson. It came in at just over £16,000. This was for 9 windows in total. 7 out of the 9 were small 3ft plain white upvc, 2 larger windows, and a door. We were asked if we thought that was reasonable - neither of us did and said it was a bit steep. Another call to the office was done, again 'to see if anything could be done'. The price was dropped to Just over £11,000 for the exact same. Although more reasonable, we had made it clear that we wouldn't be able to do anything straight away as we had just had an extension built, and there were further works that needed to be completed to finish this off. This was when the pressure of the sale built and continued.
We wanted some time to think about this. We needed to look at our finances and really understand if we could manage this. We were told that this wasn't possible, and it was a 'today only price' we couldn't even make a decision and let them know the next day. Although, we could pay a depsit today and not have it done until October.
Lisa went to sit in her car whilst we had a chat about it. We decided that in the pressured situation we found ourselves in that we couldn't go ahead and therefore said no, we would just have another look later on. We were then told that the prices would increase a lot over the next 12 months and if we wanted to 'lock in' the lower prices we needed to pay a deposit on something. That's when Lisa suggested that we just have the front door replaced and the frosting completed on the glass of one of existing doors. This price came out at £2700. Although still exceptionally steep for what it was (UPVC, not composite) we said we would go ahead with that and delay it until October. We paid a 10% deposit by card and the paperwork was drawn up etc. We were also told that the original price for all of the other windows would now stay at the lower price as we would be classed as 'existing customers'.
After Lisa left, we had a chat and we agreed that we both felt really pressured into the sale. We discussed how an older person or someone who is very vulnerable would have managed in that situation. Considering we still need to have our downstairs re-wired along with other works, we decided we would cancel the order completely.
My husband called to cancel the order within the couple of days that followed. He called initially 6 times and spoke to someone called Michelle. He informed Michelle on each occasion that we wanted to cancel the order. Each time he was told someone would call back. That never happened. 2 weeks went by and still no call back. I tried to call the head office 08000 number, nothing. I tried to call the mobile of Mike who had been coordinating to appointments, 'the number is not in use' We were both chasing the offices but each time we got through we were told 'someone will call back' this never happened.
I eventually received a call from the Telford branch 3 weeks after us trying to cancel the order. I was informed that something had been put on this person's desk and he needed to deal with it. During that phone call, I was asked if we still wanted it done, this time at the 'cost' price of £2,100 for a UPVC door and glass frosting. I explained that we didn't as we had evaluated our finances and on a priority basis (we were also now particularly unhappy with the customer sevice) we were definitely not going to go ahead. I was then asked to send an email with the bank details for the deposit to be refunded back into, being told this would be back with us in 3-5 working days. I sent this email on 6th June.
Today as I write this is the 19th June, and after numerous phone calls to all of the relevant numbers provided and myself leaving a voicemail on 14th to Mike we did not get a response. It has ended in my husband having to attend the Telford branch, where he spoke to Mike. Mike made a phone call and was told that the refund still hadn't been processed, but would do it. 3-5days again. We got BACS instea

First experience of a double glazing company doing everything right for a change.
Their fitter worked well, was clean and tidy and the work was not rushed.
We went with Flush Casement frames which we liked ( my wife idea) and it looks clean, tidy , and balanced( symmetrical)

Really good service
Kam and Oskar fitted 2 sets of bay windows for me with great care and made sure I was happy with everything before they left. There was a potential issue with one of the windows but Michelle and Dave were quick to sort out.
