Worlds most disrespectful stores
Watford store Hertfordshire.
This has to be one of the worst stores I’ve ever visited.
They treat their staff like absolute rubbish and the way the manager (Mark) I think his name was speaks to his colleagues and staff is beyond embarrassing. Also overheard a conversation between staff members whilst shopping there about him selling 20 new PS5’s to his friend, which I’m sure is not policy.
Have to say I will not be returning to shop there or support the business if that’s the kind of managers they hire.

I contacted Smyths after my daughter passed away asking them to take back a gift that was causing me distress. There customer service was appalling I was passed from one person to another getting asked the same questions over and over even after I had answered them. Weeks down the line I’m still getting asked the same questions and being told if I don’t answer they won’t help me. I’ve explained over and over that I’ve answered the questions and that I need this gone and to let me grief in peace but the lack of empathy goes on day after day. Please don’t give these horrible people your money.
Unreliable. Poor communication. No customer service.
Ordered Christmas presents on 13th December. Due for delivery on both 15th and 17th (??) Didn't arrive on either day.
I emailed and it was 3 full days later before I received a reply. At this point, without any communication on choices, I received an email with a cancellation, followed by a reorder, followed by an apology and 3 day delivery promise (3 days was going to be Christmas day, meaning no Christmas delivery, I might add)
My family and I had made plans to be together. Instead, I was stuck at home, alone, waiting for a delivery for which I had received a text message with one date and time of delivery but tracking was showing another date.
By the time the package arrived (on the night of the 23rd) I had lost an entire day, out of a precious few, with my family, after a very long time apart.
I emailed to complain, stating I should have been offered a refund or NEXT DAY delivery, given the timeframe and the fact that I had ordered well in advance.
I received a response saying "I see you have received your parcel now". End of.
Will not be shopping here again. I would advise people to avoid due to unreliability, extremely slow communication and ZERO customer service.

Contrary to recent reviews my experience has been really good, l ordered a fairly large and expensive item on the 21st December and received it on the 22nd, can't fault that.

I ordered an item for my grandsons first Christmas it wax due to be delivered by 7th Dec and still had not arrived. I have contacted Smyths twice and received no response from them. Meanwhile I am forced to find another gift elsewhere. Very disappointed with this shabby treatment from a supposed reputable company. My advice if you can get it elsewhere do. Smyths will only disappoint you. Rang customer services got to position 3 in the queue and got cut off definitely feel like I’m being ignored and my issues don’t matter
Lied to by a manager.
I went in to get a new Xbox controller. It was the manager who served me and who also told me that I could return it if I had opened the box. Thought this was a bit weird as normally that’s not the policy having worked in retail myself. So I directly them if I could return it if I have opened it, to which they replied “Yes”. With that I had to return in said state and said manager denied even having the conversation. As if when trying to engage with them they just randomly went off, when trying to speak to them. To make matters worse I was trying to speak to them another day when I went in, as for them to totally blank me again. Absolute abysmal customer service from a manager as well!

wouldn’t even give it a 1 star for customer service. Went to Smyth’s Kinsale road cork. Got served by a girl at 12 noon who couldn’t wait to go home at 4pm. She was wreaked she told me had enough. Customer Service should be mandatory when serving. It doesn’t cost much for politeness no matter what time off the year. Yes everyone can have an off day. Manager heard & said we extremely busy & always try to be cheerful walking away while laughing. Smyth’s management need to be more caring with their staff all over Ireland if there Staff don’t feel appreciated & rubbing off on their customer service while serving.

This is about an hour after I placed an order, which I only had to place to replace another order they randomly cancelled.
I can't access it from my computer or my phone so it must have blocked my whole internet connection IP.
No information given, no way of contacting them. Their web filtering is useless and their web support team must be total amateurs to allow this to happen, especially at this time of year.

Well, I bought a Paw Patrol vehicle click and collect from Gloucester branch for my grandson for Christmas. Went to collect it today and was told because I didn't have photo ID I couldn't have it. That's fine if it's company policy but store manager was so confrontational never going back to Smyths again. Amazon just got my order!

My son's wireless PS4 controller we got from Smyth's leic..last WK wouldn't work..rang up spoke to natalie..Manager...we couldn't find r receipt..so she explained wot they could do to help us without a receipt..luckily we found the receipt..returned to the store.natalie n her coleugue exchanged it with no fuss...smile on there faces and very polite...n thanku..I now av a happy 9 yr old again.x
Liars and rude staff
Visited the Cork Maylor street branch on a Friday to ask availability on PS5 consoles. They told me to come back next week Tuesday where they will be open to take pre-orders. Came back on Tuesday and nobody knows about PS5 pre-orders. I asked them if it's normal to lie to their customers since I have to drive 40 min to the store, for nothing this time. No answer from the staff. When I ask for the managers name they reply 'Can't due GDPR'. I asked them if they think I'm an idiot: GDPR is about electronically stored information cetrainly not about asking to speak to the manager. They refused to contact their manager, probably to cover their behinds.
They have no customer support, nor they answer their phone numbers.
So in short, they lie to their customers like it's a normal thing and refuse to provide you with their manager. Christmas shopping from today on from Amazon, at least they reply to complaints.
Very arrogant manager in Leicester branch
I rang the Leicester branch to see if I could pre-order a VR or for my grandson I spoke to a man on the phone said his name was Dan he said he sold the last one last week he said he felt really guilty about this and he would check the website to see if could find me one he then said he had found me one on the web him and his sister always use it then asked me to trust him it was a good website I thanked him and I ordered the vr from the site put a brilliant write-up for Dan on the reviews it now turns out the website is a scam I contacted head office they did not want to know not interested so then I contacted the police then I contacted the shop in Leicester the manager there was so rude arrogant argumentative It was as if I was the one that was scamming them,I really think the manager Natalie must be really really close friends with Dan!!!! She made every excuse for him she was so arrogant to me she should not be a manager in any shop

Tried to not give me my free promo cards for Pokemon in Blackburn store saying they had non in stock when 4 other items were in promo And charged me £5.99 for them so got a refund and left never to go back and now got to wait for refund which sucks

Absolutely shocking customer service in Headford road store, staff totally disinterested in customer queries, tried to phone store re stock availability but phone not working and I tried hours later with same result.Stock availability on their site was inaccurate also....shocking store and would need to wake up, it's like a business that has market share and getting complacent,lazy.What you also notice is there are no replies from Smyths to customers here...silence is deafening.

I paid to preorder a game for my grandson to be now told that I cannot collect it until I get an email , even though it’s available to buy with free delivery online now . I’ve now got to wait longer than everyone else to get it yet they told me In store at the time that if I paid the deposit I could pick it up on 1st October . What a load of rubbish .

I experienced excellent customer service today when I called into the Smyths Cardiff store during my lunch break.
I didn’t have long to buy some items, as well as collect my pre-ordered ones, so I was a bit flustered. Luckily Shanta was on hand to help. Despite being on her way to her own lunch break she took time to help me and went over and above the call of duty. She was friendly, polite and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Shanta…
