Was hesitant to post a review but I am glad to know that others have also experienced the same issues as me regarding Toco’s returns policy.

Firstly, I felt the product itself was good and I kept one of the pieces I ordered.

However, when I returned a piece I didn’t wish to keep it was claimed that a mark was left on a bikini top from trying on. I appreciate that Toco is a small business and returns can hurt their business, but where you can only buy online without being able to try it on Toco is imposing a great deal of risk on the consumer that they won’t refund an item if they find fault with it. It seems silly to be unable to try on an item and return it if it's not the right fit, in fear of minorly marking it? It's common practice when buying online to order multiple sizes to try on/return (and Toco seems to encourage this via their Instagram) but their returns policy puts this the customer’s risk. The founder tried to justify not refunding by saying that if you to take an item back to a high street store with marks on it, you would not get a refund, but this undermines the “try before you buy” opportunity (a principle that UK distance selling regulations preserves) because I would have been able to try it on in the shop before I bought it. The founder also said that they could not re-sell the top, but I also don’t see why that risk should fall on the customer. If a company wishes to trade at a distance they run the risk of having goods returned that can't be sold as new, if they don't wish to find an outlet for them (e.g. as a sample or sold on sale as a second) that is their choice – but it seems it’s easier to fob off customers hoping they don't know their rights (see below).

I might also add that when provided with video/photo evidence of the 'mark' the video, when downloaded, had the title "filteredXXXXX", indicating that a filter of some kind was added to the video - I question why this was necessary unless it was an attempt to highlight marks that weren't really there.

Ended up just talking to a brick wall with customer services and gave up arguing. So essentially, I have paid £45 to try on a bikini top.

Final note – I do not consider that Toco’s returns policy is consistent with the law and their policy does not refer to the customer’s statutory rights under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013:
(a) the condition of the goods and/or packaging does not affect the right to cancel, and
b) that if the trader fails "... to provide the consumer with the information on the right to cancel required by paragraph (l) of Schedule 2, in accordance with Part 2... " then the trader cannot reduce any refund to account for "excessive handling".

Absolutely love everything that I have bought from Toco - loungewear and swimwear. Such beautiful material and colours which make you feel so special. The quality is superb and I get lots of compliments. What a super brand. Thank you!

Made my first purchase with Toco back in 2020 and never looked back. The quality of bikinis and swimsuit is incredible, makes me feel amazing. Love all the colours that they bring out every season! Always get a response via email and/or Instagram about size recommendations and new stock. Please support this small business you won’t regret it!

I bought the Carib swimsuit in brown and it is absolutely gorgeous! Super soft, amazing quality and the most flattering swimwear I’ve ever tried. It arrived so quickly and I’m already planning my next purchase - would 100% recommend!

Toco is one of my favourite brands ever. I will only buy my swimwear from here. The quality is amazing, the fit incredible and the founders lovely.

I absolutely love this brand! I bought 3 one pieces and 2 bikinis from Tocoswim. All of the pieces are extremely flattering and help make you feel confident in your body. Wearing swimwear is often a daunting experience for some and can make us feel self conscious but Toco swimwear really make you feel amazing. The quality is great, the material is very soft and worth the investment. The founders are also very approachable and friendly when asked questions on social media. They've been very accommodating in the past when my one piece discoloured in a spa and kindly sent me a gift card (while it was technically my fault as I hadn't read the FAQs). I'd recommend Toco to anyone looking for beautiful, unique and high quality and flattering swimwear.

I stumbled upon Toco a few years ago when I was struggling to find a flattering bikini silhouette that was of nice quality here in the U.S.. I purchased the Siparia bottoms from TOCO and instantly fell in love with the fabric, shape, and brand as a whole! I immediately bought another pair and then received the nicest email from one of the founders thanking me for being a repeat customer. It is so rare to find brands that have BOTH high quality, intentional pieces for all shapes/sizes AND who are transparent in their practice. I now have several Toco pieces and will continue to buy from them. They not only look amazing, but you feel amazing in them. I give Toco an 11/10 and recommend them whenever I can!

I have been a customer of Toco since 2020 and when I say this is the BEST swimwear I have ever owned it is an understatement! Not only is the business owned and run by the most authentic, hard working, lovely individuals (who send little notes with each order), the quality of the products is insane! My purchases bikini in 2020 is still in perfect condition even after wearing it again and again on every holiday. I love them so much I now own 4 different swimwear products that are all as superb quality as the next, with my last purchase being at the start of 2023. For context I am a 5’10, size 12 women and all products I have ordered have always perfectly fit me when I follow the online size guide.

Toco’s customer service is also amazing, my DMs on instagram regarding restock questions are always answered. And when I have made a return (mainly due to me ordering many sizes as products sell out very quickly) I have never experienced a problem and it is quick and easy to return via Royal Mail and receive my refund within 3-5 days of the product being received.

Overall, I could not recommend this brand enough and hope everyone is lucky enough to experience their swimwear.

I have purchased from this company on 2 occasions. The quality of the bikinis is absolutely amazing, their sizing is so inclusive and their customer service team are some of the most friendly and most helpful I have ever come across.

All the styles I have are so flattering and comfortable. I’m not a swimsuit kinda girl but I’ve even brought two alongside the bikinis which I equally love.

I am supporting people who love what they do and take pride in the business they have created. I have never had an issue with the service or delivery even when I had to pre order my latest purchase I was kept up to date all the way through.

Favourite swimwear brand! I came across toco a couple of years ago on social media and now have 5 pieces in my collection. The fabric is so soft, they wash really well and fit like a dream. You can really tell a lot of thought has gone into designing these items to get rid of niggles women often have with the way swimwear fits. The colourways they bring out each season are somehow better than the last and love a good limited edition.

I absolutely love Toco. The fabric is SO soft & yet the styles are still so supportive- I’m a 32E usual UK size 10 - my favourites have been the Yara Top with Couva bottoms, and (of course) the Carib one piece which looks absolutely insane- can’t wait to wear it this summer!!

Amazing quality swimwear, I ordered a swimsuit and bikini set. Unfortunately the bikini set didn’t suit me so I sent it back for a refund with no issues from their side at all, I’ve had so many compliments on the swimsuit it’s so flattering and fab customer service from the team.

I have purchased almost solely from this brand for swimwear for years now. Their styles have seen me through the various ages and sizes (…XL to S!) yet there’s always something to make me feel great. The quality of their items is consistently incredible, and the care they put into their brand is clear. I’ve never regretted a purchase and the customer service is exceptional. For such a small business (that it’s been a pleasure to watch grow), I’m forever impressed by their product, service and commitment to their clients. Truly one of my favourite brands for life!

I also had an experience with this company as well saying that there was a mark on the swimming costume that I bought and refused to offer me a refund.

I also bought two costumes in different sizes as I some times struggle with the right fit. It’s extremely disappointing to see that this has happened to somebody else when the items are not cheap.

The quality and the material is lovely but I’m upset that I will not be receiving a refund for the one that didn’t fit and I was actually keeping the one that did fit as well. I am now an extra £88 out of pocket when I strongly don’t believe I caused the mark. I tried the item once and then put it straight back into the bag it came from.

I am not sure if there is a disconnect here with the founders and their warehousing team but it’s disappointing as I was really happy to support a small business.
