It’s a shame UK theme parks dont take a leaf out of Orlando’s theme parks. UK long queues for very short rides. Mainly all rollercoasters, no interactive rides like Harry Potter or Star Wars (like Ame... Mehr ansehen

Extremely Poor Parking Management and Rude Staff at Thorpe Park
Visited Thorpe Park yesterday just to drop my son off so he could meet his friends, and it was an absolute nightmare. The drop and collect area was diverted into the main car park, which was already completely full. Staff members were just standing there like statues, clueless and unhelpful.
I explained several times that I only wanted to drop off, not park, but they still forced me into the car park queue, wasting over 30 minutes of my time.
Later, when I returned to collect my son, the situation was even worse — I spent 45 minutes stuck just trying to get out. The parking staff were rude and shouting at drivers, even though the entire mess was due to poor management and lack of organisation.
This was one of the most frustrating and poorly managed experiences I’ve had at any theme park. I will never visit Thorpe Park again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to others until they fix their parking and staff training.
Ride Access Pass pre-booking process…
Ride Access Pass pre-booking process totally inadequate, rendering Thorpe Park inaccessible for those with accessibility needs, like us.
Thorpe Park: An Uninclusive and Disappointing
Thorpe Park: An Uninclusive and Disappointing Experience
My recent visit to Thorpe Park, particularly during Fright Night, was profoundly disappointing. The park's approach to inclusivity is severely lacking, especially concerning disabled guests. It’s disheartening to witness staff limiting the number of rides for disabled individuals, while VIP and fast-track customers face no such restrictions. This blatant disparity raises serious questions about Thorpe Park's values, suggesting a prioritization of profit over equitable treatment. The staff's unhelpful and rude demeanor further compounded the negative experience.
Adding to the disappointment, the Fright Night event was underwhelming. The scarcity of actors around the park diminished the immersive experience one would expect. Moreover, the need to pay extra for scare mazes on top of the already costly entry ticket feels like a blatant attempt to squeeze every last penny from visitors. It’s clear that Thorpe Park is more focused on maximizing profit than providing a genuinely thrilling and inclusive experience.
The atmosphere within the park was far from pleasant. Overcrowding, combined with the presence of teenagers drinking, taking drugs, and causing disturbances, created an uncomfortable environment for other guests. This lack of control and security further detracted from any potential enjoyment. Overall, Thorpe Park failed to deliver on its promises, offering a frightful experience in all the wrong ways and making it clear the park is trying to make as much profit as possible! Fright Night was not worth it.
Unlimited photos don't work no refunds
Very disappointed
Had unlimited photos which didn't work.
Was told by a couple of the people at the photo booth to contact via email and they will sort out. Visited on the 5th August 2025. Till date have not responded.
First tried passing me to pomvom who passed me back to thorpe park. This went on for a while. They then sent me pictures of someone with a different case ID. I now have pictures of someone else.
Thorpe are now refusing me my refund or any arrangement.
If things fail to progress will have mo option but to use the photos that are not mine on social media. I also have the third parties email so I will email and inform of thorpe parks mistakes and let them know where there photos will be found. Sorry tk that person but someone needs to hold thorpe park to account.
If I am charged for photos then that makes me rightful owner and I do as I please
No fast pass replacement given after park closure
Purchased 3 tickets and 3 fast passes for my son and friends to attend Thorpe Park for his birthday. After spending 45 minutes queuing, they managed 3 rides before the park was closed due to the weather. Apparently we can rebook the general entry for free but have to pay another £195 for the fast passes again?! Scandalous!
Save your money
Save your money, don't go!!
Went on Saturday, 2 X teenagers and myself and friend.
We thought we were going for Freight night, as stated on the tickets, but turns out that you have to book the Mazes separately. Not explained very well on the website.
We then go to Customer services to see if we can book the Mazes. We were given two time, 3 or 6, the Teenagers opted for 6. We bought the tickets over the counter for a further £10 each so total of £80.
We then went to cue for the rides. The cues were unbelievable, never experienced anything like it, then when we were getting close to the front, there would be an announcement to say that the ride had been closed due to the wind. This happened at least 6 times.
At about half 1 we decided to go home and claim the weather guarantee, and come back another day.
You do not get to pick the day that you come back. You have to click a QR code and then Thorpe Park will realise dates that you can come back.
We then asked about our Freight night passes, to be told that these were non-refundable. We asked if we could change the times to 3 instead of 6, again met with no, but advised to go to the maze at 3 and we may be let in.
We hung around until 3, walked to the first maze, and the cue was horrendous, obviously everyone had the same idea. We spoke to a member of staff, who advised that we had no hope of getting in early.
So, left with 3 hours to kill, with nothing to do as all rides closed, we went back to Customer services, who flatly refused to refund the freight night maze tickets, even when we explained that no rides were on, and we had nothing to do for 3 hours!!!
We spent 4 hours at Thorpe Park, did not go on one ride, and £80 lighter!!!
Shocking experience
Shocking experience, it was windy so rides were closing an opening bought 5 fast passes to get to the front of a queue to ride something all day. We didn’t make it staff, including Jade the duty manager couldn’t have been less helpful, rude hiding behind T&C’s a total of £200 lighter for a terrible day for my daughters birthday and not one smile from staff, a deeply sad culture and experience. I have never experienced queues for rides like I have at this theme park. Save your money and go elsewhere
Despicable
My marriage has just broken down and I’m homeless and this place won’t let me have a refund or even allow me to use my tickets next year. The tickets were for us and her children, she doesn’t want to go and therefore the children won’t be going but I m allowed to take someone else instead (very thoughtful) the last thing I want to do right now is go to a theme park. Utterly disgusting.
food poisoning from the pizza!!
I got food poisoning from the pizza buffet from eating there paster and pizza! I was really sick and had all the classic signs of food poisoning! It’s completely disgusting to not cook food properly and to not have food hygiene! You can’t get me and other people ill! Food poisoning can have serious consequences! Sort your food hygiene out and cook the food properly. Stop serving food that’s unsafe to eat!! SORT IT OUT Thorpe Park!
The worst staff and park
Everything, from the entrance and back as I have a special in need child and didn’t gave me an access card because I didn’t pre-book despite I bought 4 tickets even for me I didn’t know I can get it for free. But here the staff are unhelpful and don’t care about children with needs they send me from one station to another and not helped at all. My 3 children and I just walked in a bit and left because my autistic non verbal child cannot wait in the queue and the queue are minimum 60 minutes waiting time. So very unprofessional do book everything in advance otherwise you loose everything tickets poor children crying they are not helpful at all. THE WORST PARK EVER AND ADVISING NOT TO VISIT THIS PARK.
rubbish communication
So upon arriving it was fine and staff helpful until the point my children went to go on vortex , there was an issue with the ride so ended up closing to see what was happening but by that time my sons rap card had been signed off and timed out , I asked the man if he can amend this to which he put a line through it and said that would be absolutely fine to use on another ride , so over the hyperia they went to be told it was timed out and looked like we crossed it out so wouldnt accept the card he then said well its near the end of the day so I am going to throw it away anyway so not only didnt they have the vortex slot but the card was no longer get in my sons possession which I find poor with the lack of communication I was more than happy for him to radio through to get it verified but nope he wasnt having none of it . I am upset by the way the situation was handled because I knew deep down I wasnt lying but made out to feel as if I was when he questioned me about the line going through the ride time on the card . Imagine having the card and then having it timed out and being told cam use it on another ride instead because the previous ride had issues so had to close it then to get told cant accept it . I means wow if this is how they handle the situation I won't bother next time as its not cheap paying for a big family to gain access to the park and then this happens
first bad impression was carpark
first bad impression was carpark. i have shown to park close to bushes where ground was not maintained and overgrowing. on return to car found that people decided to relieve themselves next and on to my car. and had to pay £12 for this
Wouldn’t bother
Wouldn’t bother! Queues were around 1.5-2hours per ride (all rollercoasters.) Even smaller rides were an hour! Fast track is £15-£20 PER RIDE!! Even then there are still queues. A absolute rip off. We were there all day and managed to get on 3 rides. Whole place looks run down and old fashioned . Needs a serious revamp! Horrendous super loud music playing everywhere. The crowds were just ridiculous. Far too many people let in. Some rides weren’t even working! Would never return.
I was unable to attend the day of…
I was unable to attend the day of booking and notified customer services who explained that a refund was not possible but will reschedule our visit.
Unfortunately due to mitigating circumstances out of our control we could not attend before the cut off date.. We paid a lot of money for the tickets and spoke to customer contact manager Mia who has said case closed and refused to escalate yo anyone senior to look into my case as said it ends with me no one above me can reverse my decision... Extremely disappointing service considering we as a family have attended this park twice yearly for the last 30 years.
Shocking customer service policy on…
Shocking customer service policy on refunds. Have managed to book twice for same day. Contacted them as this was an honest mistake. Zero refund on the cheaper booking (added some fast track to second booking). I’m down £160 and the only option is to move the date. I’ve never been before so it had better blow my mind it’s that great to justify a second visit. Really upset about it as it’s a birthday treat and that’s the fuel and snack money gone. Are they in financial trouble or just terrible with helping customers. If I purely wanted to cancel I could understand their stance. Poor and won’t bother with any Merlin attractions again.
Poor service
Unfortunately, absolutely terrible experience
Accused were over 60 minutes long , awful wasting times took my wife and two children for a family day out we managed to go into four of the main rides. Absolute disaster of a day, cost a fortune sadly disappointed with the whole experience.
could do better
Still the best park in uk. But nowhere near enough priority given to fast track passes. The point of entry for the price paid should be at the front of the queue in every ride. Not 3/4 the way up the queue. You are nearly paying a full park entrance. Come on. It needs to be given its moneys worth. Also when a park opens. The rides should be open. Not 1 hour later. That seems like a ploy to sell more fast passes. Then the rides suddenly open.
Wow what an experience
Im broken today. Got a stiff neck n brouses from saw ride, damn there worth it though. I'd go back tomorrow. Was truly amazing day felt so safe. Full airport style security to entre park. Each ride felt securely fitted . Lots of security staff. But so chilled and ques were very quick. Even had multiple water refill and sun screen stops and misted fans all around the park. They definitely went all out . So much to do for all ages plus 5. I'd misread the option to collect an accessible ride pass and was refused one but it wasn't a huge issue at all. I managed as ques were no longer than 30 mins max and having option to fill water bottle and sit under a misted fan was something this park has definitely done right. The safety aspect was priority for me. It's not an old out dated park. It's full of safety first aspects that made our time here so stress free. On hot days,do the water rides first so your cooled throughout the day with damp clothes. Take a refillable water bottle and sun hat or cap. The mini beach area was also a very welcomed and enjoyed area. This theme park is faultless and 5star in my opinion.
Appalling - customer service shocking.
Appalling - Do not buy one shot rides. I did this for hyperia. It took money then would not down load ticket! Had to walk to office and asked for refund as no tickets whilst I left kids in queue - took over hour in office speaking with Aidan who was on phone to manager. I explained situation and answer is we don’t do refunds… I explained I hadn’t received the tickets despite an order number and money showing as taken. Answer is no refunds… this is completely in breach of consumer credit act. I spoke to bank who have stated they will secure refund as I haven’t received what I paid for. This is an appalling way to treat visitors. Spend your money anywhere but here.
