Great service

The waders were a good price and quickly delivered. Unfortunately I had to return it as they were to big. The returns process was easy and I was able to swap the waders for a smaller size without problem.
The companies comunication was excellent.

Sonic Bite Alarm replacement

I purchased a set of 3 Sonic Hero bite alarms last July. The delivery was prompt and no problems. Unfortunately one of the bite alarms developed a fault in February this year. I contacted the support team at The Tackle Tavern and they very promptly arranged for a replacement to be sent direct from Sonic. The support team were very helpful and professional resolving my issue with Sonic.

They bent a hard plastic case to fit in a too-small box !

That'a a great story !
I purchased a MAP Parabolix 3 rod Holdalls . They actually bent this semi-rigid plastic case just to cram it into your a box far smaller than the case ! They literally bent the hard plastic case as if it was paper ! 🤦🏻
I would have preferred it to be simply wrapped — it would have been far better to have a bit dirty than bent !!!!
So they managed to ruin a superb product just to make it fit into a box that was far too small. They are that smart !
The hard plastic under the textile material has been bent so bad and no longer returns to its original shape; almost CUT ! the creases are visible on the outside and the reel compartment is now far too tight.
Tip : Just announce them, if the item you buy does not fit in their stupid boxes , not to cut / break or bend your stuff !! tell them JUST to USE A BIGGER BOX in order not to RUIN THE PRODUCT !

Spent £400 with Tackle Tavern and paid…

Spent £400 with Tackle Tavern and paid extra for next day delivery. Only part of the order arrived.

I emailed them several times and it took 3 days to get a reply. When they finally responded, I was told the rest of the order would be delivered the following day. That day came and went — nothing arrived.

I emailed again the next morning and received no reply, then emailed again requesting a refund and I’m still waiting for a response.

Absolutely shocking customer service and very poor communication, especially for a company happy to take a large payment upfront. This has been a complete waste of time and money.

Avoid this company. Do not waste your money with Tackle Tavern.

Order arrived with parts missing

Order arrived with parts missing, this was a Christmas present for my grandson, emailed them and they said they would send out the missing parts, now I get another email saying send it back which I can't do for another week or so due to work commitments, what a waste of £260, we have to go to another supplier.

Well tackle tavern what can i say very good service with my only two orders so far not 1 problem ive orderd a sonik sk tek sleep system from you guys a while back came perfect no problems and yeaterday i recieved my second order which was the sonik ooti cam brolly sytem with oversheet and storm poles j havnt took it out the bag and set it up yet but im sure everything will be fine iff there are any problems with it ill get in touch but honestly so far im impressed and what else i like is that your webpage stock is correct or atleast it seems that way thank you for my products and i would certainly recommend yiu and use your service again , kind regards and much respect

Shocking Customer Service Experience

I have been fishing 45 years and used to work in the fishing tackle industry. This is the worst fishing tackle shop I have ever dealt with and would not recommend. I spent £365 on 27/8/25. My order included a Preston Absolute 36 Feeder chair. I received my order promptly in time for my planned trip. I used the chair once fishing the dam wall at Hollowell reservoir the following day after it arrived at the end of August. Unfortunately the two screw fitting split on its first use and the legs dented.
This is where the appalling lack of customer service starts. Whilst placing at order or sales you can speak to a person over the phone to facilitate advice and them taking your money ultimately. However, experience any issues for an online purchase and all you can do is email. Then wait until someone decides to care and respond. I ended up speaking to Preston directly and Tackle Tavern said that Preston would send replacements. This was the beginning of September. I am still waiting for these parts to arrive, making an almost £200 chair unusable after one trip!
I was told by Tackle Tavern that Preston would be given my address to send spares directly to me.
Having now spoken to Preston 4-5 times they don’t do this and so any spares always go back to the shop first. I would expect Tackle Tavern to have known this fact. Also Preston spares come from Belgium, again a detail they failed to explain in updating me, the customer. Once they have your money they seem completely uninterested and disingenuous. Their customer services who you have to chase by email after email have not kept on top of my issues following purchase, leaving you the customer to chase. I was told last week they still hadn’t received the my spares. However on chasing again with Preston, they informed me that “Pete” had signed for the pallet last Friday. Once again a further email sent to Tackle Tavern to chase and a further two day wait for any answer. An apology and told it would be sent out that day (Wed 24/9/25). Sadly it’s Friday 26/9/25 and still no sign of my parts.
I normally use Johnson Ross who are first class, but didn’t have in stock the chair at time of order. In future I will use anybody else and will never shop with Tackle Tavern again.

Unbelievable customer service

Unbelievable customer service. Had a fault with a spool that wasn't directly their problem but they responded the same day. Kept me informed about everything as it was happening, and the new item was delivered within 3 days. That's from actually emailing them.
Bought quite a bit of tackle off them recently and can't fault them for delivery and customer service.
100% recommended.

Ordered on Wednesday and the item is still not with the courier for next day delivery on Friday. I have emailed but no response and no answer when I call. This was a present for someone and I'm now disappointed. I have ordered before and haven't had any issues. Come on tackle tavern you can do better than this surely.

Royal Mail lost my parcel but they…

Royal Mail lost my parcel but they stepped up and corrected it relatively quickly so I received my stuff before my holiday. It was a bit more difficult than needed to be but it wasn’t their fault and they made up for it. Good product on good price and good customer service!

Great Company!

The first time I used the Tackle Tackle I had an issue with a faulty product, which wasn’t there fault.

I emailed the manufacturer and they were waiting for for them to arrive back in stock. TT said they despatch a replacement when they became back into stock.

Once they had new stock, they emailed me straight away and sent out a replacement with no hassle or having to chase them - great after-sales and communications and this is how customer service should be!

I’d definitely recommended this company and I’ll be using them again for sure - well done guys!!!👌

Yes beyond disappointed

Yes ! Tackle are fairly priced in a competitive market. Reliable prompt, no problem so far with orders over a three year period. Okay! BUT as regards to their PRELOVED ? It’s just over an hour drive from my house I was in the market of some ‘high end’ rods and decided to view 4 sets of carp rods so decided to pay a visit on my arrival I asked to view the 4 sets of rods okay so far so good!!! Five minutes later I was presented with what I can only describe the biggest insult to my angling career of over 50years 4 sets of rods bound together with cable ties No not elastic bands don’t know witch is worse? And yes they were tightly bound that some of the tip sections were crossing 😡just to make things worse none of the rods had even been cleaned let alone inspected for resale, how long does it take to clean up a few rods? None came with bags (why do people chuck away rod bags? ) beyond me not only were they selling as is some were in my opinion having been fishing for over 50yrs seriously damaged due to laquar damage already showing signs of milky ness if that makes sense 2 sets covered in algae due to submerged rod tips …. But when pointed out to the many so called expert staff 🙄 remember everyone who works in this industry is now a self acclaimed expert these days… or hang on perhaps it’s me .

Thank you for the comments, sorry to hear you are disappointed in the way the pre loved rods are stored. When I say we must sell 50 sets of pre loved rods a week this is no exaggeration and to date this is the first complaint we have had. That said I do fully understand your points, we can’t control if rod sleeves are sold to us at the time of purchase, cable ties are used to store rods we haven’t come up with a better solution, do you have one? The most disappointing issue with this whole review is it highlights exactly the issue with reviews, you yourself have said we have been excellent for 3 years, our service is great, we are responsive and deliver on time. Yet where is the positive review? Why does the way we store pre loved rods result in a 1 star review? Surely after 3 years of positivity one negative doesn’t negate all the great service you have received? As I said, the problem with reviews, the problem with society:

You should only buy in store

You should only buy in store. Online they were awful to deal with. I bought a solar tackle mk 2 pop up bivvy and those are pricy. For this purchase I got; 1. I buy the last one avalible 2. They later call the next week saying they actually had no stock, I chose to wait as they get stock at the end of that week 3. The next week by the Wednesday I still haven't heard back. 4 They say they will ship it. A day or so later its still not shipped and someone replies to an email on the day I sent it finally and gets it sent. 5. The bivvy arrives and it is damaged. 6.after contacting support yet again, I get offered Wednesday for a swap. I accept... as predicted it did not get swapped Wednesday. 7. It got swapped at a later day. The new bivvy was good. 8. For all this hastle I was originally offered a mention of freebies and goodies... the week after i got my working bivvy I got offered £8 off an order... the bivvy had gone down in price a week after I had ordered by £5... the best offer was £12 off... by that point id already decided to not give them any of my money when I spent weeks worrying about a £340 bivvy and had to deal with more stress than wa si clues here. As with other reviews very few of the staff in the online section are helpful at all.

Just buy in store. Otherwise Support your local tackle shops, then anglian direct instead. They sell the bivvy for the same price and I would have had much better service. I like supporting small businesses but the online store for Tackle Tavern is utterly awful if you have to deal with Support.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that they had In stock listing's for the bivvy multiple times while I was waiting for mine to be both send and replaced.

Shocking place to order from.

Twice I have ordered from this company.
1st time i gave them the benefit of doubt so ordered again this week.
Absolutele shower of ....
Ordered 135 quid worth of gear got sent a item that was not ordered.
Support is a sham and when i finally get a reply the question was,
What were you expecting ?? Really , what I ordered is what i was expecting.
Asked for order to be credited and the wrongly sent item to be collected, now again no reply.
So still waiting .
Joke of a company..
