16 days and I’m only now notified that shipping has happened. Over priced and I’m wondering if that’s why books I buy look terrible in print because apparently they do that.
I regularly purchase books from Nile and have done so for several years Mostly I purchase biographies and I have been thrilled to find Nile can supply bios from 40/50 years ago I am 83 years of a... Mehr ansehen

The shipping time is ridiculous for a…
The shipping time is ridiculous for a company operating in Australia. I've been waiting for a month and a half for an order.
Not to mention the books can show up damaged due to poor packaging.
Dont recommend using this company.
Flat out liars
Flat out liars. I paid extra for rapid postage for a book called Paddington goes to hospital to help make my 7 year old daughter less scared of her upcoming surgery. The postage was guaranteed arrival by the 24th March. The surgery was two days after on the 26th. On the 24th I got a msg to say they were packing the item still and it was due to arrive on the 11th of April over two weeks late. This company is made up of scumbag liars and you would be an idiot to waste your money with them. How low can a company go?
Dodgy book printing
I ordered the book Paradise Regained advertised on The Nile (46 pages 9"x6" paperback) on 24 Feb 2025 & received it on 26 Feb 2025. The book appears to be a photo copy? version with reduced page size (about 7.25"x 5.25") printed on the 9"x6" page resulting in a font size of about 7 (ie miniscule). It has no publisher listed or publication date. Book with same cover & title is listed on Amazon as by Creatspace Independent Publishing Platform (pub. date 4 Sept 2016). Seems like The Nile has photocopied original & failed to print pages at correct scale. Fortunately I didnt pay too much.
Will not be buying from them again.

I ordered a book in August 2024 knowing it wouldn’t be released till September ‘24.
The ONLY tracking update was in September ‘24 saying ‘we are investigating the delay; expected Oct 1 2024’ - there have been ZERO tracking
updates since (it is now Feb 26 2025)
I emailed & although I received a prompt reply I was told it is now not due till April.
Several other booksellers have had it in stock since December 2024.
Needless to say I cancelled my order & won’t ever order from Nile again
I received a "Book" what a joke!!!!
I received a "Book" and was instantly disappointed, it was more like a cheap print out if a child's essay on the topic, very brief and NOTHING like advertised, I emailed them asking for a refund as it was blatantly obvious that it was not what I ordered, thier return email stated that the item had been delivered and gave me a tracking number.. clearly they don't read the emails, or don't care, so I sent them one last email stating I was about to start actions against them and thier email back was "we have read your email and will get back to you by lunch time tomorrow" very dismissive, giving them more time to CON other innocent people, I emailed again to say no, if you had read my first email email you would have had your time to respond, these businesses need to stop ripping people off, stop the Fraudulent practices, they then gave me a full refund and promised to look into the matter, how many innocent people are they ripping off?.. I don't know if they will and due to the first emails I have decided to warn others of this companies actions.. I will avoid The Nile going forward, I hope karma finds those that are responsible, I have noticed they have removed the item I purchased, replaced with something exactly the same except I noticed the authors name is different at the bottom, same publisher though.. that rings alarm bells again.. another trick of scam sites.. shamefull
Bad/No service from THE NILE.
16th January 2025.
RE: THE NILE
My rating for this company, THE NILE is a minus 100.
On 25th November 2024 I purchased two items from "The Nile" for Christmas presents.
No delivery was made to my premises.
I have been given all kinds of excuses as to why I have not received them, including that the courier details say they were delivered at 8pm at night.
Yes! That's right, 8pm at night.
Our driveway is right alongside the house, so we hear any vehicles that come down our drive.
I am being fobbed off by "The Nile", and when I asked why the delivery was so late at night, and was supposedly left on my doorstep (as they say) and no body knocked on the door, because no one here heard a knock and I was expecting a delivery.
The Nile staff say they are waiting for a reply from the courier company before they can do anything.
THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
I want my refund now. I paid you in good faith, now you owe me a full refund.
Today is 16th January 2025 almost two months later.
Why is the NZ Govt not blocking "The Nile" and it's subsidaries, from trading in New Zealand.
Come on NZ boycott The Nile.
Do all New Zealanders a favour.
Free return and prompt refund.
I mistakenly ordered the wrong book in the series for my son (Vagabond) for Chrissy. Contacted The Nile about an exchange, they quickly informed me they don't exchange but if I return the book, they will refund me and I can order again. They provided me with an AusPost sticker for free postage return an all!
Very efficient
Very efficient, fast service & delivery
Misleading scam seller
Misleading scam seller. Sold me a look alike of another book that turned out to be a pdf printout by a completely different author. Looks like a year 10 assignment paper. Went back to find the listing to make sure the advertisement was accurate and it has been taken down. Will not purchase anything from the Nile Group again and advise others to steer clear.
Completely scratched ‘new’ book
The book came completely scratched on the back. It was definitely not new as suggested. Really disappointing as it was purchased for a Christmas present and the receiver instantly noticed the back completely scratched. I feel extremely misled and won’t be recommending this company; I’ll be doing the opposite. On top of this it took a few weeks for the book to be SENT and it arrived a number of weeks after placing the order. No communication to explain why. Pathetic. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Do not order from here!
I placed my order on 21 November 2024 and spent $365. Nile did not provide my address to their delivery partner Aramex and subsequently failed to deliver the order. I updated Aramex 3 times over the course of a week with the correct address, each time they told me it would be delivered within 48 hours and that I'd receive a confirmation email. Each time they failed to do this and then returned the delivery to Nile. I spoke to Nile and their solution was simply to reorder it, with expected delivery times to be another month at least. I was also blamed for the missing address details which an order cannot be completed without entering (so literally impossible for it to be my fault). After inviting them to do something to make up for the issue they had caused, they offered me $20 or a 5% discount and immediately closed the conversation to prevent any further discussion. Throughout the process, nobody contacted me. The basic solution is to communicate and failing that, to compensate for your mistakes. I will never use their site again.
I had a great experience
I had a great experience! I purchased Everything I know about love for a Christmas gift, I ordered it on the 28th of November. The Nile website said it would be here by the 17th of December. I realised the aramex tracking wasn’t working and had doubts based on the reviews and not being able to track it. BUT despite this I received the book on the 18th of December in perfect condition!! So yes personally I had a great experience thank you the Nile!
Don't bother.
Ordered a book like 3 weeks ago and it now won't arrive before Xmas. Pathetic communication
thenile.co.nz were advertising a…
thenile.co.nz were advertising a particular book I was after on TradeMe. Like most Kiwi's I assumed, in the absence of any mention to the contrary, that if it was on TradeMe they would have it in stock, and so I bought it (on 3rd December) as a Xmas gift. A week later, noting the promise of delivery as being 3-11 days, I requested an update as I hadn't received any tracking details. I received a reply the following day stating the item was expected to be received into the warehouse within 3 working days and would be delivered by 18th Dec. I asked 5 days and still had no tracking info and so emailed again asking for an update. A day later I received another email saying it would be arriving at warehouse within 3 days and would be delivered by 24th Dec!. Obviously I have no confidence in what they say as "within 3 days" seems to be the standard go to when they don't have a clue! I emailed my dissatisfaction and told them to cancel the order. They replied saying order canceled. No apologies, no nothing. Disgusting customer service and really poor practice to trick people into buying in time for Christmas and then letting them down. Why not just add a note to the TradeMe listing to say the item needs to be ordered from overseas so at least people can decide whether to take the risk or not. Paper Plus has the same book but they say it needs to come from overseas, hence me ordering through TradeMe. Not good enough. Very unhappy! Will never buy from The Nile again.
Non receipt of books
I placed an order for 3 Isadora Moon books as part of my 7 year old's Christmas present. The order I placed on 2/11 giving them 7 weeks to get them to me on time. A week ago an envelope arrived ( totally empty ) in which 3 books were supposed to be. What a joke! They tell me one will be delivered tomorrow. No way, when it has not even been picked up. As for the other 2? They will be delivered on 30th December! How do I explain to a 7 year old that her nanny has failed her? This is my first- and last time- I will ever deal with The Nile.
Customer service was incredible!
I ordered mobilo from the Nile about 3 weeks ago for my son, I had a lot of issues with aramex, they didn’t respond to my emails with anything useful. However the Niles customer service via email was impeccable, couldn’t fault them. They got back to me so quickly after every email I sent and kept me in the loop with what the courier was doing. I ended up asking for a refund because aramex had no updates on my order and had lost it (momentarily) but didn’t tell me this instead just ignored all my requests.
I spoke to Minnie the majority of the time through the Nile, and she was incredible. They refunded me straight away. But than… my order came! So I emailed Minnie, and than heard back from jay another Nile team member who told me not to return it and to consider it a gift. This was kind and I honestly couldn’t believe how nice a gesture it was. My son played the whole afternoon with his mobilo. This is amazing customer service. Thank you.
I pre ordered a new book reprint
I pre ordered a new book reprint , trusting that The Nile would fulfill as per their offer on their website BUT waited weeks and they kept making excuses
In my opinion, hoping, I would walk....I don't like scammers....organisations/people that follow through on their promise
A refund is worth nothing in this instance as the book may not get another print
In my opinion I would definitely DYOR B4 buying anything from THE NILE online.
It's like a river ..... water flows one way
Suspicious refund policy
I received an email about a book I ordered and was asked via email for my bank details for a refund because the book was unavailable. Suspicious behaviour considering my payment details were already held by the organisation. Sent 3 emails asking why they would have such a suspicious refund policy. Never got a response. I went online to the chat line and was given a lot of gobbley gop about my details must have changed or the bank may have stopped the refund process. I requested a phone call to settle the matter and eagerly await one within the promised 2 to 4 days. I think I may have to report a suspected spam attempt.
Worst. Do not trust.
Worst, worst, worst.
Their motto of “we ship faster, you read sooner” is complete BS.
Bought 10 Paw Patrol books for my son’s birthday and it said IN STOCK for all of them.
Then after 2 weeks of no tracking notification, they told me they’re coming from overseas and haven’t even been sent yet, regardless of them confirming (at checkout) they would arrive by courier on time.
I will now officially not have the books in time for his birthday. He has high needs disabilities and they are the ONLY thing he wants for his Birthday, and The Nile has completely ruined this and is 100% at fault.
RUBBISH and unacceptable and the customer service is just as rubbish.
Terrible Communication
I used the Nile once to purchase a much needed book for teaching. Needless to say I won't be purchasing any other products. I waited 3 months for them to tell me that the product wasn't available. They assured me in various emails prior that there were some difficulties and the order was going to be dispatched shortly.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
