Don’t believe the expected delivery dates stated on their website. Ordered a book for Christmas on 11th December. Expected delivery was stated as 19th. Still no book by the 22nd. I followed them up via email. They were quick to respond and promised to get back to me after they checked with warehouse by the 22nd. They had no news for me by the end of the 22nd so I’ve given up hope. I will be requesting a refund after reading other similar poor expertise here.

Wish I’d seen the reviews before ordering. Said delivery would be five days. It’s been three weeks. Daily emails saying “it’s coming!” But it isn’t. Now been given a different tracking number that just says pending. Don’t bother with this lot.

Beyond disappointing experience. Books ordered, said in stock, email confirmation to say should arrive by December 9th.

No update provided, had to reach out on the 10th as books had not even been shipped only to be told 2 out of my 3 books were out of stocked.

Subsequent email came through to inform me that my books that were in stock when ordered were now not arriving until February 2026.

Terrible communication, terrible business practices to advertise books are in stock when they clearly are not.

Both books were for Christmas too so makes the whole situation all the worse.

From Auckland to Wellington 10 days and counting. That's almost impossible!? I was going to use it as a present but its been in transit for 10+++++ days now. Don't order from them if you need it soon.

Nile Books is a business that illegally profits off authors by buying a ebook and then printing it. I am sure they dont pay royalties to publishers or authors. You can tell this happens and books are printed poorly. Avoid at all cost.

Took 6 weeks for book to arrive.

I placed an order mid November, with an initial expected delivery date of a couple if weeks maximum. The date however, kept creeping to being later and later and is now the very end of December - a week AFTER CHRISTMAS!!!! They lost part of the order apparently so now I have to wait weeks extra. It's their fault so it should be resent with priority shipping. Not good enough!

My Autobiography Certainly not a Celebrity is selling at Nile Bookshops, and what they are doing is something absolutely wonderful for young cancer patients with their walkers at CWard Gold Coast University Hospital, it is very sad, publication costs at Austin Macauley Publishers UK, were $6,000 after that I wish to give to Cancer Research.

Sadly book took a very long time to arrive and was very disappointing. Had thought it would be a quality book but was printed on cheap paper and was low quality. Never again!

Dicked around. Aramex says "Onboard for Delivery" when it's going to the Melbourne depot, so WRONG INFO GIVEN FOR TRACKING, And they only have "Courier" and "Standard" for shipping options which is clear as mud. If Courier means ARAMEX, LABELS IT AS SUCH. They're also supposwd to be Australian. My books are coming from AMERICA. Lies and more lies.

Preordered book releasing on the 6th of October, it’s been over a month and the book hasn’t even been shipped and not date given on when it will be shipped. The whole point of preordering is to get the book quickly after it’s been released. Disappointing and cannot recommend.

I ordered a book from The Nile. They sent it with flimsy packaging and it arrived dented up. It was a $120 book bought as new. Their solution: I pay shipping back. I refused. They sent a label. I sent it back. Heard nothing for days after it arrived back at their warehouse. Had to chase it up. Never buying from them again. Too much drama and hassle for a book.

Paid $132 for a NEW book. Nile sent it with no protection just flimsy plastic. Arrived damaged. Being told I have to pay return shipping. Ridiculous! Never again.

The books I ordered (two books from the Silver Brumby series, to complete my collection of editions published year ~2000) did arrive on-time and safely, and I was quite happy... until I opened the cardboard and pulled them out, and immediately feel the covers are not the same material as the others I have. I examine them to find instead of being glossy they have a matte texture, and they lack the silver shiny title on the front cover that ALL the other books have. The picture quality of the covers is noticeably worse, even just the text, and even the text INSIDE the books (including publication information) is slightly fuzzy as if it was photocopied and re-printed. Very disappointed. Adequate if you only want to read the text of the books and don't care if it is a genuine copy, but if you are trying to collect the real thing, be careful.

So impressed with the customer service I received from the team at The Nile! I placed an order for 3 books from The Nile in early May. When I placed the order the shipping time was about a month because one of the items in my order was being transferred from their UK warehouse. I was more than happy to wait. After a few weeks I still hadn't received an update so I contacted customer service. The guy I spoke to told me they were expecting the item that was being transferred internationally that week but he actually put the other two books on a courier out that day so I would receive them earlier. I ended up receiving the third book a couple of days later! The packaging was very protective for my books and they arrived not damaged at all. I am so stoked with my experience buying from this supplier. The prices are so good too!

Three weeks to deliver a book to Perth and it has arrived damaged. Nothing around the book inside the envelope for protection!! Disappointing service!!

Found the book I was after and at a great price . Communication and shipping was excellent . Delivery took only one week . Thank you .
