Trip of a lifetime
For our honeymoon we booked a trip that included 8 days on safari and 8 days on Zanzibar. It was the most incredible trip we could wish for.
We would absolutely recommend travelling to Tanzania with Tanzania Specialist. It took all the stress out of planning the trip and we were able to wake up each morning knowing that our plans were already sorted.
Our safari guide was Godson. We felt so privileged to have been allocated him. He was brilliant and became a real friend. He was so friendly, helpful and fun. The guides are so multi-talented and knowledgable, from translator to animal expert. It's great to have someone to answer any questions about culture, animals, experiences etc.
Tanzania Specialist was ideal. We liked being able to tailor our trip, including pre-booking some unforgettable experiences.
All the accommodation options were very unique. Everywhere was clean. Staff were brilliant. Food was delicious.
We also loved Tanzania as a destination. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and it is such a beautiful country with an incredibly rich culture.

Very good overall experience
Very good overall experience. Our driver Ally had many years of safari knowledge which he shared and the accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The tented accommodation had its own private shower and toilet and the service was excellent. The hotel accommodation was high on the hills with a beautiful private apartment suite with 4 bedrooms, a pool and a wonderful view over the African forest and plains. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 was because there was a price increase (of 4%) after I had already paid 100%. It was claimed that thai was due to increased costs due to USA and Israel war on Iran.

Our honeymoon safari was everything…
Our honeymoon safari was everything we'd hoped for and more. From the initial enquiry through to the end of our trip, the whole experience was incredibly well organised.
The booking process was easy, and the team were so patient while we changed our minds about which areas of Tanzania we wanted to visit. They were happy to put together several different itineraries to suit both our interests and budget, helping us find the perfect balance for our honeymoon.
The accommodation they selected was exceptional. Each lodge felt luxurious while still giving us an authentic safari experience. One of our favourites was the tented lodge, where we woke up to discover a buffalo happily grazing just outside our tent overnight! It was a little intimidating at the time, but looking back it's one of those unforgettable safari moments we'll always laugh about.
Our guide was absolutely fantastic. With over 17 years of experience, his knowledge of the parks, wildlife and animal behaviour really showed. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see everything we had hoped for and even some unexpected highlights. One of our favourite moments was spotting a puff adder crossing the road, our guide noticed it immediately, and we were the only vehicle there to witness such a special sight.
Throughout the safari, he struck the perfect balance between making sure we saw as much as possible while never making us feel rushed. He instinctively knew when we wanted to spend longer watching an animal, when it was the right time to move on, and even when we could sneak in a quick nap during the longer drives before waking us when there was something exciting to see.
His experience, patience and passion for wildlife made the entire trip unforgettable, and we learned so much from him along the way.
We couldn't have asked for a better safari experience and would wholeheartedly recommend your team to anyone planning a trip to Tanzania. Thank you for giving us memories that we'll treasure for a lifetime.

It was the realization of a long-held dream that, for various reasons, hadn't been possible. Finally, thanks to Tanzania Specialist, we fulfilled it with complete satisfaction.
What you see on a safari is easy to imagine, and yet it still surprised us, largely due to the magnificent knowledge of our guide, Nic (Nicholas), an excellent connoisseur of the entire vast territory, without maps or GPS, and with a very good intuition for the animals' movements.

Our guides
Our guides, accommodation and safari experiences with Tanzania Specialists exceeded our expectations. The booking process was straightforward, and we received wonderful support throughout the planning stages and during our trip.
Our itinerary included both Tanzania and Uganda, and overall it was a truly memorable and special journey. However, we would have appreciated more guidance around our onward travel following our visit to Uganda during the Ebola outbreak. We were not advised that many countries required travellers to wait 21 days after leaving Uganda before entering, which created significant challenges when trying to return home.
We would strongly suggest that Tanzania Specialists provide this information to all travellers visiting Uganda, particularly when there are health-related travel restrictions in place, so that they can plan their onward journeys accordingly.
Despite this, Tanzania Specialists provided us with an incredible trip, with excellent guides, beautiful accommodation, and experiences we will always remember. It was a wonderful holiday, although the difficulties surrounding our return journey did sadly affect the end of it.

Safari was great, Administrative Billing process not so great
Just did a 10 day Safari with Tanzania Specialist. The trip was fantastic, beyond my expectations. We were met at the airport by Kelvin who was our driver for the entire experience. He was extremely knowledgeable and seemed to always be in the right spot for a picture. The accommodations were unbelievable. They had a shower inside and out along with a bathtub. His and hers bath robes and slippers. The food was also top notch. Breakfast was everything you could want, lunches were fine and dinner was like dining at a 5 star restaurant. The only negative thing I could say was the administrative side of the trip. The person who handled our trip made quite a few errors in billing. You would get an invoice for a bill and not know what it was for. One of the members inquired about doing a night time excursion and was then billed for the excursion for the entire group. The invoice wasn't labeled so she paid it thinking it was for a payment for the trip. I was given a bill for the entire group of 7 for an added fuel charge. I paid it thinking everyone got the same bill. Luckily I wrote Tanzania Specialist and we corrected it. So my word of advice is when you get a bill make sure you know what it's for.

A truly memorable vacation with Tanzania Specialist
I am so glad that we decided to plan our trip with Tanzania Specialist. The help and customer service from the moment we booked were top-notch. Angel checked in regularly with updates, information, help with visas and so on. If we had any questions, she was quick to answer.
And the trip was... truly memorable. The accommodations were absolutely wonderful, and the food was delicious. Best of all was our guide Lameck. He really helped to make the trip special. We spent the second half of our trip relaxing in Zanzibar and that was also perfect.
Our only complaint was that we had only booked 9 days! We want to go again but for twice as long, and when we do rebook, we'll be sure to use Tanzania Specialist, and to request Lameck.

Amazing safari/beach holiday
Our guide George promised us we would see the big 5 and we did and soooo much more. We experienced the African massage, learnt a few words/phases in swahili, beers at sunset in Serengeti, memories for ever, thanks George we had a fabulous time. Our accomodation was fantastic, we were well fed everywhere, a special mention of our butler in our tented camp in Serengeti, Anna, thank you.
Would have preferred less shopping.

Our driver was outstanding
Our driver was outstanding: He shared his love and knowledge of the different areas with us, answered our questions and pointed out the hidden spots that the animals hid in or rested. He negotiated the dirt roads and tried to go around the holes and things that made a bumpy ride. he found great luncheon places that were visually amazing and when we requested our walk over the trees, gave us alternatives and allowed the time to do this amazing walk. He kept his cool, when the car was stuck in mud and got help right away to continue. He made Tanzania be more than seeing Lions and Elephants, but gave us a perspective on the trees and environment and how that was part of this great country and how it supported the tourists who wanted to get up close with the animals. We felt secure, even when a elephant was walking directly in front of our car!
I was with my daughter and we both believe our driver went above what was expected and made for this "Once in a lifetime" vacation to be more than we expected when we booked the Safari.

Good safari with a sour taste
Safari was good, no issues.
One of our night stays was changed due to being sold out: the hotel was available online. The replacement was supposed to be equivalent….not even close, but we booked the return night ourselves,. Turns out that the Tanzania Specialist actually own the hotel…..draw your own conclusion by.
Driver: Nice guy, told us about his family etc, good guide to find out that he is part of a scam to pad his income ( Maasai)
Needles to say, that left a bad taste with us and we drastically reduced his tip, to make it the minimum with the kickbacks he got. The company even knows about this and doesn’t do anything about it……
Besides that a good trip, but one time is enough and don’t do the Safari more than 4 days……

Regarding the accommodation change, we understand how disappointing it can be when an expected lodge is no longer available. As outlined in our initial proposal, all accommodations are subject to availability until the booking is confirmed and paid. On rare occasions, a property may become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we always aim to provide an alternative of a comparable standard. We regret that the replacement accommodation, which was shared with you before your payment and booking confirmation, did not fully meet your expectations during your stay.
With respect to the Maasai village visit and optional activities, we would like to clarify our policy. We always encourage guests to arrange any additional activities through our office using the dedicated contact number of our in-country support team, which is available 24 hours a day. This allows us to ensure transparent pricing, proper coordination, and immediate assistance should any issues arise. However, guests are also free to make their own arrangements directly with their guide if they wish. We do not prohibit this, but we recommend coordinating through our office so that we can provide the best possible support and oversight.
We take your comments seriously and do not condone any practices that could compromise the trust our guests place in us. Your feedback has been shared with our operation team for further review as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our services.
