30-Day Rule Trap
I took out insurance for a trip to England, but had to cancel it, and yet they kept 100% of my fee, quoting a totally unfair legal trap termed "the 30 day rule," even though I had given adequate notice of cancellation, BEWARE!

Thank you for your review, I am sorry you are unhappy with your recent encounter with Staysure.
Our single trip policies do cover you from the day of purchase for cancellation due to the reasons listed in the policy wording booklet. It is also stated in the policy wording booklet that refunds are only given for cancellation if the policy is cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period. I have included the statement below but it can be found on page 46 of the policy booklet.
You have the right to cancel your policy within 14 days of the date of issue or receipt of your documents, whichever is later. We will only refund to you any premium you have paid, less any fees and charges if you have not travelled, or have made, or intend to make a claim. If the notice of cancellation is received outside the 14 day cooling off period no premium will be refunded, however discretion may be exercised in exceptional circumstances such as bereavement or a change to the policy resulting in us declining to cover your medical conditions.

Worse than trying to get a response from the Scarlet Pimpernel
Everything went really well with setting up the policy, why would it not they were taking the money. The issue started when my wife blacked out at the beginning of our holiday and was admitted to hospital, a claim was submitted for flights we were unable to take, sounds like an easy one but unfortunately after 6 months after numerous calls being put pillar to post they have still have not had the decency to call us back after promising to do so.

Rude and belittling
The guy who answered my call not listening to my answers properly, and was IMO rude and belittling.
I felt under pressure through out the call and was going to put the phone down on three occasions, I even told him I was going to on one occasion.
In the end I knew it would be high with this guy but I didn't think it would increase by 100%

Talk about weaponized incompetence
Talk about weaponized incompetence. Be prepared to be transferred again and again. Took me 6 hours to get a hold of someone that could tell me what ER I could go to that would be covered.
Now I've been fighting for three months to get them to pay the bill. I can't even find someone that will take responsibility for my policy. Meanwhile the bill is about to go to collections. I'm afraid this will end with me having to take them to small claims court and my credit getting wrecked. Avoid this company at all costs.
