APP never working!
My son lost his SIM card but it is registered under my phone number
So I order a replacement card online, and the code for order send to the LOST SIM card number!!
I try to contact them but it is weekend, I rang them and on the phone they said asked me to live chat online!
Then I live chat on line they just showed me how to login account and order a replacement online, which is NOT WORKING on me, because the code sent to a LOST SIM !

Absolute con merchants! If you happen to miss payment of your bill - even one day late - they apply a $15 late fee towards your next bill. They offer below bare minimum support and don't even have an email address displayed on their website. Best to go with a more reputable provider like Dodo - stay away!

This company is very unAustralian. Customer support is 100% offshore and understands nothing about Australian consumer law.

This company is very unAustralian. Support local business and boycott them! I’ve been with other cheap mobile providers before without any issue until I regretfully signed up with 💩tel. They made a mistake connecting my nbn, leaving me with no home internet for days. They didn’t inform me of the porting issue until I found out on my own and tried to contact them. After 1000 hours waiting on the line, I had to speak to 3 different scripted representatives until someone could do something without reading the scripts and actually got things done.

Customer support is 100% offshore and understands nothing about Australian consumer law. They don’t communicate well, waiting time to reach someone is forever and no one understands local issues. All they do is read the scripts and pretend they are helping.

I’ve had over 30 phone calls for the first month joining, complaining about different issues (porting, connection, billing etc) with no compensation. For the sake of your mental health, do not choose this provider.

Worst ever nbn service provider

Worst ever nbn service provider. Even if you aren’t in lock-in contact they will charge you for whole month after disconnecting the service. The only one in entire market.

Internet cut out frequently

Internet cut out frequently. Cancelled well before the next bill only to be told that it wasn't the same as my billing cycle and they charged me a full month for a service I wasn't using.

Terrible Customer Experience

Due to the fact that Spintel SIMs need to be shipped and cannot be purchased in stores, I decided to go with an eSIM since I didn't need to wait the 1-2 weeks of processing and shipping. However, my phone recently broke, and the only way to transfer that SIM to my new, non-eSIM-capable phone was to wait the 2 weeks for a SIM card. This has left me digitally stranded for those 2 weeks since I need a one time password for pretty much every single account or service.

The lack of care from the company on how long it took them to ship the sim has sent my life into shambles for these two weeks. Even after giving up and buying a SIM from a different provider, I was unable to transfer the number as it too, needed an OTP. Even after providing both the new provider as well as Spintel with my Passport and Drivers License for identity confirmation, they still refused to transfer the number. Needless to say I will not be spending another cent or hour with this company.

Shady Usage Calculator

Be careful when signing up any mobile plans with these guys. They have a very shady usage calculator. Prior to signing up with these guys, we were on Kogan Mobile's two-year prepaid plan. For more than two years on Kogan Mobile, we never reached any usage limit yet alone exceed the limit by > 8 GB. The first month alone, these guys stated we exceeded our usage limit and charged $10 for every gigabyte of data beyond the limit. We will definitely be moving back to Kogan Mobile at the end of the month and will no longer have our mobile plans bundled with our internet and home phone. After this experience, we may also change our internet and home phone service with these guys.

Some seriously dubious marketing…

Some seriously dubious marketing tactics getting you to sign up on a advertised promo, switching over your NBN service then sending an email letting you know that the promo has been removed due to ineligibility and the service will not be for the advertised price but for the full price without the advertised discount.

Beware of these tactics.

Transfer to Spintel was booked on…2/12/2025

So many 1 star reviews.
From my experience they are similar to mine. If zero stars were possible I'd give them that rating.
Check the 5 star reviews as they appear to be by paid reviewers with almost no other reviews beside Spintel - weird.
Horrendous Customer Service
Transfer to Spintel was booked on 2/12/2025 for 26/12/2025.
I queried if there would be any issue during the holiday season and the Spintel Rep - Joanne - assured me there would be no issue or delay.
27/12/2025 - day after scheduled Provisioning there had been no progress. The message was that now it was 'expected' on 27th.
Phone call to Spintel on that day was directed to a formulaic answering service where I was told that an online chat would be the 'quickest' way to resolve as they were busy. So I set up 2 separate 'chats' on separate devices. After waiting over 1 hour for 1 chat and over 1.5hrs for the other both were summarily disconnected as it was now 'after hours.'
Today 29/12/2025, 3 days overdue without internet and messages informing me Spintel was 'prioritising the Activation.' I am required to provide AVC ID (OR address confirmation) - AVC ID sent promptly as requested by Spintel. Then I am informed address confirmation now also needed whereas it was a choice of either.
interestingly when setting the previous ISP up these were not needed. The Service was connected and functioned without issue until the better price was offered by Spintel. unfortunately, like many, many others there is no service but delays.
Apparently their Back End Team can't function.
Phoning cannot get through to a person.
Chats are left unanswered for horrendous lengths of time and then summarily ended by Spintel.

Don’t bother

I signed up a month or six weeks ago. They sent sim and I set up account using wife’s australia mobile number for secondary security until my sim and new number arrived. Account and SIM worked ok for a couple of weeks then stopped working - plus I couldn’t log into my own account even though I was getting pin codes sent to my wife…. it just kept saying‘invalid code’. I called and ordered a replacement sim… went to activate it and they said my phone number which they gave me doesn’t exist… or my account number. 🙈. Funnily enough they managed to charge me correctly… for wasting so much of my time trying to fix this and sending ID etc. I’m giving up and prefer to pay extra and have a professional service

2 acounts charged to the same address

I am very dissatisfied with Spintel. After years of service, following our marriage, we transferred the Spintel account to my name. After several months, my wife and I discovered two active NBN services at the same address. Your system should have flagged this as an error. Tell me Spintel, Is it possible to use two different Spintel accounts on one address? Apparantly you can! One will work, while the other one is being charged for fun! My wife recently returned from gallbladder surgery and received a letter of final notice before credit action. Furthermore, the account we transferred from my wife’s to my name was sent bills to an invalid email address. How can we know we have bills to pay if they were sent to an invalid email address? We were informed by the customer support to “not pay that bill”, that the bill was transferred to NCML (national credit) and was told by the customer support lady, Rochel that “I’ll call you Monday morning after we have investigated this situation”. But with the little trust i have left, we just paid the amount on the letter on Friday 19/12/25, We paid the final notice before the credit bill. Monday 22/12/25 morning, we contacted Spintel and were told another $20 was due for “commission after GST” (which was not shown on the account) and was told that the supervisor states that “the charges are valid” are you kidding me? If you are with Spintel cancel everything and don’t come back!

Faulty services, lack of compassion and refusal to help

Signed up for a 5G internet service... the fact I couldn't activate my service when it was delivered should've been the first red flag. After about a 4 hour delay on the day after speaking to their live chat, my service is activated. Notice how I say "activated" and not "working", because that's the whole reason I'm writing this review.

Ever since activating the service, I have faced 5+ dropouts a day, as well as a number of issues with the speeds. These dropouts require me to restart my modem every time they happen. As I work from home, each of these restarts is 10-15 minutes time wasted while I wait for the reboot and reconnection of my devices.

I raised this with the team via their Live Chat, they basically refused to help and said it's due to congestion on the network. I advised them that the outages happen on different days at different times, so I doubt the network would be congested at all times (for example, would a 5G internet network really be at maximum congestion at 10am on a Tuesday?) They offered to raise to Optus (their network owner) for investigation, I agreed and asked for this to be raised as a complaint. This was not raised as a complaint at this time.

After 2 weeks of hearing nothing from Spintel or Optus, I messaged them again chasing a follow-up. They advised that Optus stated that there was works happening on the nearby towers, and that once completed, my network would be more stable. I once again asked for this to be raised as a complaint, this was not done at this time either.

After 2 more weeks, I had to message them again to follow up. I was THEN advised that there was never any works happening on my nearby towers, and that Optus had advised that this was due to congestion - right... sure.

So by this point, it's over a month of paying for a service I can barely use, as well as being lied to and given a plethora of false information by their staff (presumably to try and save face.) I once again ask for this to be raised as a complaint - an urgent complaint this time - this is still not done. It's not until I mention every telco's favourite 3 letter acronym - TIO - that someone finally takes initiative and gets this raised as a complaint. Funny that!

I hear back from the complaint officer/handler... and it's more of the same. "Blah blah blah congestion", "no compensation", "no offer to fix, just put up with it or cancel." - Oh, but if I want to cancel, I have to return the modem and pay for the return shipping with MY OWN MONEY and use time out of MY DAY to do so.

I'm just over it. I doubt that Spintel will help me come to a resolution here as they haven't been able to otherwise, but this is just to document my experience with them. I can't see myself staying with them any longer, and am actively looking at other providers as we speak. I've avoided actually going to the TIO as long as possible, however I might not have a choice anymore if Spintel keeps this behaviour up for as long as I'm with them.

do not sign up with spintel, it will wreck your credit score.
i singed up as it was the best deal i could find.
i signed up with card details. next thing i knew i had multiple unauthorized withdraws from my card, spintel was the only thing i have giving card details to.
I canceled my card and tried to call spintel, no one ever answered, they then called me and i had to wait for someone to take the call they made, i waited over an hour and then it timed out.
i have tried to pay other ways but every time you click of any other option, its says unavailable. you can only pay via bank details.
i then changed over to Telstra, months later (today) i had a debt collector ask for payment. and my cedit rating is cooked.

This is the best provider I have ever…

This is the best provider I have ever used and I used to change every 3 or 6 months depending on deals.
Phone service is amazing, same as Chat. Every got follow up email when I had to leave.
Cannot fault in any way and wont be leaving

Their policy sucks

Be careful, my internet has been very slow and when I check my 5 g wireless through Optus website( which Spintel provides), my address is not covered by 5G. However, it shows I am covered by 5 G on Spintel website. Which one should I trust? Does Spintel has its own 5G network? 😳. Also when I cancel my service in the middle of the month, they still charge you for the whole month, even though the reason of my cancellation is due to the poor coverage of internet in my area. Their customer service representatives are nice but the company just has very unfair policy to their customers. They want you to pay for the postage of SIM card and modem when they don’t work. What can you do about it? You complaint but they still go ahead and charge you😳. Don’t trust what the service representatives promises you😒.
