Excellent prompt service by polite and very professional engineer. Our insurance company recommended SOS for a leak detected in our home. Two previous visits made by a different leak company failed to find anything. Aaron at SOS not only found the leak very quickly but fixed it within a few hours. We are very grateful and highly recommend their services.

Update as of 9th February 2026: I contacted this company and explained the issues. They were experts in defending poor service. When a provider demands full payment before the service is provided, it doesn't give you protection or assurance of the quality of their service.

In my case which you can read further below, they did some standard checks, made up some findings as cause of the leak. Doesn't help at all. You may be better off getting a good plumber in to fix the problem rather than wasting money on Trace and Access. If it's covered by your insurance, make sure you get pre-approval for the Trace and Access cost. Don't be surprised if the report findings undermine your claim. You have been warned.

The admin staff were responsive in sending out information. I had to pay upfront for the Trace and Access for an insurance claim.

The leak detection technician turned up on time and carried out a number of standard tests. However, he blamed the water damage on imperfections on my property that were not the real cause of the leak rather than carrying out further checks to identify the actual source.

In the report conclusions, the technician blamed a shower screen was missing but didn't mention a shower curtain was in use. He blamed the bath sealant needed renewing but the wet floor was on the other side of the bath. Just appalling and unhelpful. Didn't find anything so didn't fix anything, like he couldn't be bothered. The report came quickly but the irrelevant findings undermined my insurance claim. Waste of time and money (£1000).

Afterwards, I had to get a contractor in to carry out further investigations and he identified the source of the leak. What it took was common sense and persistence as the leak was not obvious but it was there. The subfloor was wet, the water had to come from somewhere.

SOS were sent by our insurance company to detect a leak in the utility room. SOS called to make the appointment and came within a few days.
All checks were carried out and the source of the issue identified. The SOS engineer was very competent and provided us with a comprehensive report on his findings and recommendations.

Whole experience of dealing with SOS was excellent. Rebecca made us the earliest appointment she could and was both professional and sympathetic to our problem. Luke who came out to find the leak was also extremely professional. The communication was also great calling us to update his arrival time. We would have absolutely no hesitation in using them again.

Very efficient company, Assessor arrived to our water leak next day. Made a thorough assessment, tried to fix leak, but it was not possible. Reported back to insurance company. Very pleased with service from SOS.

They were appointed by my insurer to do a trace and access on an internal wall pipe that was leaking. Gary turned up. Was polite, proactive and not only located the problem he also fixed the leak. I’m only removing one star as I was surprised he didn’t use any dust sheets and as a result the room was left in a mess after chiselling a lengthy hole in the wall.

Chris Wright attended on Christmas Eve, earlier than the appointment time and methodically worked through issues until the leak was identified. Left house tidy and enabled us to go ahead with our Christmas celebrations which were looking like having to be cancelled.

I would like to say that the engineer that was sent out (Paul) went above and beyond to find the leak present in the house. I did thank him for all that he did and the service that was provided. I would highly recommend the company.

The engineer who attended my property was supremely pleasant, professional & knowledgeable. He explained his findings in detail & everything was left as he found it. Absolutely great service

A huge leak was sorted by Alex & Luke who were the ‘Chuckle Brothers’ we never knew we needed! They were efficient, professional and polite throughout the 2 days they were here. Always happy to pass on their knowledge and information on what they were doing (and why). I can’t speak highly enough of them both. It was a dirty (and very wet) job but they took it all in their stride and sorted it once and for all. Thanks fellas!!

The service from the engineer who came was nothing short of perfect.

Time was booked for 9am and despite him coming from London to Birmingham he was very much on time.

A very polite chap and explained everything as he moved through the house.

On the day all checks were carried out well and checks were carried out both in our property and the adjoining property where the leak was coming from. The engineer Craig was knowledgeable and carried all that was expected and confirmed it had been stopped.

The SOS engineer was very courteous and extremely professional. He carried out a series of tests and concluded that the suspected leak did not exist and the damage to the kitchen floor was a consequence of a water spill several years earlier.

We established we had a leak somewhere in our central heating system under concrete floors in our large 3 bedroom bungalow. Our insurance company organised for SOS Leak Detection to attend. Calvin from SOS arrived on time and immediately started searching for the leak.His initial response proved unsuccessful so he moved to using their gas and audio equipment. This located the leak, he fixed it recharged the system and fully checked everything was working before he left. We were absolutely delighted with his work, he was very polite and an excellent ambassador for his company

We had a leak and didn't know the origin. Our insurers contacted SOS Leak Detection, and a gentleman called Joe came out to see us. He immediately identified the source and took the necessary steps to solve the problem, keeping us informed at all times of what he was doing and why
