Live about 1.5 miles from depot,waited for delivery in morning ,phoned to get update told between 12and 2 o'clock no show. Phoned again got an excuse about driving laws(which i know being an ex driver) received text to say they would be there in approximately 45 mins, low and behold pi!h.took hour and a half to drive from Clarkson.Whoever routes the deliveries hasn't a clue.poor service with a few untruths. Don't believe what they tell you.

Stay away from this seller. There is no communication. No updates take the money and fail to deliver in a reasonable time scale. Even when I spoke to them they gave me the line of its out for delivery at the end of the week.

Would have give 0 stars but doesn’t go that far down

Due to high winds part of our fence was about to fall down. As we have our garden cat proofed we thought just get it ordered today, 21st December, and get it done in the new year.ordered online, got a call within 10mins to say are closed over Xmas but could deliver today or tomorrow. It arrived less than 2 hours after ordering. Amazing service and refreshing in this day and age to get such a personal service from Stevie. Thank you.

Recently purchased 4 so called (solid pine) louvred doors from Shawfield Doors, only to find that when planing the doors to fit the frames the sides were made from some kind of layered man made plywood type material, this resulted in a very rough finished door edge which I was forced to reface to make good. So much for solid pine doors! Contacted Shawfield Doors via email, but did NOT receive a reply, "What a rip off"

Marine Ply £130 per sheet. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH PRODUCTfull of major defects. MD C Frew: not at all interested in his products or customers. Had the run around. Will not name his supplier! Suspect he's the supplier. Buying dodgy, fraudulently marked products on the 'black market. Will be commencing litigation against Shawfield Timber. Their Trust Pilot reviews are appalling. Steer well clear of this bogus supplier. They have prejudiced a £100K boat build project, built with their dodgy boards.

My experiences have been positive for the most part over a number of years. Quotes issued and any issues resolved promptly. Rating is relative to my experience at other merchants.

Really appreciated their service - website was really useful when planning a new garden fence . Ordered the timber required on Monday and everything needed arrived on Tuesday . Huge thank you to the delivery driver for being so helpful - I was his first delivery of the day so not quite awake :) I’d certainly recommend and use again .

Couldn’t find the flooring, but Shawfield had it although expensive. Good looking old style wide boards with very little imperfections. Good communication and real nice delivery driver.

Thought the service was great, they advised upfront it would take 4 weeks and it arrived under this time, they phoned me 3 days before delivery was due and on the day of delivery when unloading supports where put under the wood to keep it intact whilst they lowered it onto my drive.
I had 3/4 pieces which had splits through the wood and when i contacted them, they sent replacements out the following week - communication again was great.
Like everything you order online sometimes it doesn't arrive in pristine condition, how many times have clothes been delivered with marks on but what stands out is how the issues are resolved.

I'm a little bit surprised by the poor reviews Shawfield Timber have, although I totally appreciate that some people have clearly had disappointing experiences. My experience with this company was very good in terms of getting the decking kit I had ordered in the time frame that was stated when I ordered it. I am really pleased with the quality of the timber and my finished deck.
My only criticism is that I did try to get in touch with their customer services after I placed the order to ask a clarification question but didn't receive a reply. It wasn't a big issue and I understand their team are likely to be very busy given everyone seems to be doing garden renovations and home improvements right now, however I think better communication could go a long way to improve their customers' experiences.
Overall, very happy and would use Shawfield Timber again.

Initially ordered decking and timber though Shawfield Timber, to be told the next day that they are unable to deliver to my address (I’m in Plymouth, and they’re in Scotland so completely understandable!), and was advised to order through their sister site Decking Supplies. I received my refund within 48 hours, and I was kept well informed along the way, so it’s 5* customer service from me!
I hope through Decking Supplies we will receive the same great customer service...

Terrible service, terrible products terrible waste of time

After using this company previously and being impressed with the quality of the decking,we decided to use them again. But never again, after waiting over 4 weeks and changing our order twice, to a length of decking that they supposedly had in stock. The decking never arrived, after failing to get any response from phone calls and emails we ended up cancelling the order and going elsewhere. The other company delivered within 4 days and their service and quality was excellent.
We then had to wait over a month for a refund.

Really disappointed by the this company. I deliberately chose a local company to support Scottish businesses, but the whole experience was very frustrating. We were advised 4 weeks for delivery, but it took more than 7 weeks. I received ONE generic email, after several requests to find out where the timber was, advising me to wait 4/5 weeks before contacting them (which I had done). I received no responses to emails that I sent each week after that, trying to find out when the timber would arrive. Covid was used as an excuse, but I struggle to understand how a company that is getting more orders than ever before couldn't afford to hire a few more temporary employees to answer some emails.

When it finally did arrive, I was given NO notice that it would be delivered. I just suddenly had a truck outside the door and needed to quickly make space for the timber to be offloaded. I don't know what would have happened if we hadn't been home. I mentioned to the driver that I wasn't expecting the order and he just shrugged and carried on eating his lollipop. The wood was loaded onto two small pieces of wood, and we had to repack all of it onto proper supports ourselves so the timber wouldn't bow and warp.

The timber itself was mostly okay, but I was disappointed by the large splits in some of the decking boards (one board was particularly badly damaged), and one joist was split very badly and couldn't be used as a joist. If we hadn't waited so long for the order to arrive, I might have tried to get these replaced, but we couldn't handle any more delays on the project as we were now under serious time pressure. I also didn't think I'd get a response in any reasonable time frame.

I definitely won't be using this company for any future projects.

Don't waste your time. placed an order for decking only to be told ages after they cant supply the materials at the prices on their own website and I had to keep chasing them up. The promised to sort it our after i changes them for 3 weeks and kept promising to come back to be bit never did. VERY poor communications and let you down on projects...

I ordered timber to build a decking area and to construct a shelter. The posts I ordered were the wrong size, generally all the joists and other timber was poorly cut, most were no where near straight. I have tried to contact Shawfield. Complete radio silence. You cannot speak with anyone and no one has responded to my emails to say what they will do to at least sort the posts let alone everything else. I have had to go out and buy new timber.... so almost double the cost!
