Ribbon Checkup Swindle

I purchased a Ribbon Checkup health test kit for about $57, which was supposed to allow customers to check potential health concerns using test strips and their online platform.

On March 8, 2026, I was unexpectedly charged a $19.99 subscription fee that I was not aware of when I bought the kit. When I looked into it, I noticed that the company no longer appears to be selling these kits, and their website has changed significantly, which raises concerns about whether the product is even supported anymore.

On March 9, 2026, I contacted customer service through their online chat and spoke with a representative. He told me the subscription would be refunded and gave me a link to confirm the cancellation. However, when I checked the link and entered my email, it showed that my subscription had not actually been canceled.

After I pointed this out, communication stopped, and the issue remains unresolved.

At this point, I am requesting a refund of the $19.99 subscription charge and the original cost of the test kit, since the product appears to have been discontinued and the subscription was not clearly disclosed.

I have filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General and am looking at other outlets such as Ripoff Report. They have an "F" rating on the BBB, but are not affiliated with it.

After experiencing this, my goal is consumer awareness.

Do not trust Ribbonwell

I have tested myself at least 8 times now, probably more. When I go to check my history, it shows only two tests. When I try to get an answer from customer service, I get an AI fake person who lies. They claim to be checking why my history has disappeared, but they never get back to me. I would caution anyone who is considering this "service" to look elsewhere. I suspect a scam. One indicator is that they are now flogging a recipe wellness service in addition to the pee strips. They claim to be a wellness company. I think they are TikTok influencers with a bigger budget.

They are not upfront about the monthly…

They are not upfront about the monthly fees. Screwed me out of $20.00 for the kit, because it’s worthless now. Screwed me out another $20.00. Tried to screw me out another $20.00. I sent them an email about unauthorized charges to my debit card. Supposedly, they’re going to refund me $20.00. Tomorrow I will file a police report, contact my bank, and the FTC.

Used one strip. Wanted to use the second but the app was gone I got a hold of them and they told me it was no longer available. I did get refunded the full amount.

Cannot navigate site, anytime you actually find a live link it just reloads the page. No place to log in, can't cancel the monthly auto charge.

3/4/2026 Updating my review, I emailed them and they replied stating the auto charge (which I didn't sign up for) will be cancelled. I only purchased the kit, I didn't sign up for or download the app for monthly use and I received a notification that the recurring monthly 19.99 was going to be charged soon. Which prompted me to go searching on their website for a place to cancel. See my first sentence for that experience.

Fraudulent company with hidden charges

I bought the kit end of January without being informed of a monthly charge. I have used the kit only 3 times, and suddenly I saw a monthly fee of $19 on my credit card. I cannot find anything on the website, and now learned that the website is no longer active. I want a refund as the kid is now useless and I want my prescription cancelled.

Deceptive practices

It was fine we ran one test but didn’t know they would charge a monthly fee. We can’t contact them. The number I have from PayPal is disconnected. Funny they say they can’t sell in the USA but apparently they can continue to charge. I used PayPal so I was able to cancel the subscription through them but I am out the first monthly payment and a useless 80 dollar kit

Absolute scam

Absolute scam - they start charging a surprise buried monthly charge before I even started using the product. Then they make it incredibly hard to contact them and cancel the subscription. I hope they change their ways or go out of business soon.

I ordered the at home test kit

I ordered the at home test kit. It arrived. I planned to use it today. I purchased a few months ago. They stopped supporting or selling the kit. So my purchase is worthless, the service described and marketed while buying it abandoned and unsupported. I contacted them and they told me in corporate boilerplate we don’t support that kit, we moved to a subscription model. I ever signed up for a subscription. I purchased a one time fee kit for at home use testing and app results if needed. I never used anything, not a penny of their overhead, because they abandoned all support. They charged me $140 in subscription fees I never purchased. I paid via apply pay on my iPhone, yet this purchase subscription does not appear in the subscriptions tab of iPhone, even though its purchase is/was related to an app and digital experience. Before you purchase from these folks, understand:
