Clunky, frustrating system
I agree with some of the other reviewers about the funding process. This is somewhat confusing compared with other banks I have used. The first email received instructs you to use a reference number rather than an account number because the account is still being set up. Later, when the account is live, you are then told to use the account number issued. This is not communicated with a separate email, so you have to log in to find out. Joint accounts have separate logins and separate inboxes, so if you send a message on one, you need to log in to the correct one to get the reply. Finally as another reviewer has mentioned, you have to wait for snail mail to get the authorisation code for your bank account. This has not been received yet ( 5 days). However, you almost immediately receive an email reminding you to fund the account. All in all a frustrating experience that has knocked my confidence in this bank, and I will not be using them.

I opened an account last week
I opened an account last week. Then the paperwork and code to verify my bank account arrived. Followed the steps. Opened another account around 15 minutes later and all went through within the hour even sent my deposit for the new account and got confirmation back. Very impressed.

My second time with Recognise. They offer competitive interest rates and everything has always gone without a hitch.

Made an error on our business account…
Made an error on our business account and upheld our complaint but only gave us £25 as an apology. We've had to close our account and use another bank. Told them we were unhappy but did not offer to send any further compensation. Poor service and treatment of longstanding customers
