I was referred to this company for an emergency leak via the insurers. I was without water for 3 days and stressed the urgency. They insisted that I pay the excess first and then they can send someone around. After paying the amount, they then said the next available appointment was in 7 days time. This is not how you deal with emergencies.

I was quoted £601 for a leak detection service from this company Polygon that would last around 3-4 hours eventhough they could potentially resolve it in less than an hour but they'll still charge you their full price!
Every single one these leak detection companies are there to exploit their customers but if you ever encounter any water leak within your residence, do some basic checks with flushing your toilets repeatedly, leaving taps/showers on separately for several minutes to realise where the leak is arising from.
Do not go to these rogue companies because they'll take you to the cleaners with their excessive and unfair charges!
Lack of professionalism and Communication
The initial contact with this company was good however after that it was a totally disaster. The lack of communication and plan it is terrible. They have been in some sort of contact with my insurance but a barely hear from them via phone or email. Their sense of responsibility and care for their customer is also terrible. Send the wrong people to the job who has no clue of they actually supposed to do because their lack of communication their own employee. I do not recommend then at all. The whole process have been so frustrating.
A professional service
Michael arrived promptly. He was professional, knowledgeable and extremely efficient. He explained what he was doing and why and found the leak using the data he gathered. He worked very hard to expose the leak and advised on the next steps needed. He is a credit to the company.

Polygon Onbetrouwbaar, respectloos en onprofessioneel
Ik raad Polygon Alphen aan de Rijn, ten zeerste af na mijn ervaring met een schade-inspectie voor lekkage. Deze partij werd ingeschakeld door Nationale Nederlanden.
De gang van zaken was vanaf het begin tot het einde zeer onprofessioneel.
Allereerst werd er bij de planning geen rekening gehouden met een door mij aangegeven belangrijke privé-afspraak. Tussen 12.30 tot 13.30 uur. Ik zou de rekening gepresenteerd krijgen als ik niet thuis zou zijn.
Tijdens het bezoek nam de medewerker ongevraagd 30 minuten plaats aan mijn keukentafel. Ik dacht voor een handtekening, maar hij gebruikte mijn woonkamer als zijn kantoor om zijn rapport uit te werken. Dit was respectloos, ongemakkelijk en een inbreuk op mijn tijd en privacy.
Mijn woonkamer is geen werkplek voor Polygon.
Het dieptepunt was het ontvangen van het rapport: hierin stond zwart op wit dat er een drukmeting was uitgevoerd, wat absoluut niet waar is.
Toen ik hier een klacht over indiende, kreeg ik buiten kantooruren rond 18.00 uur een telefoontje van dezelfde medewerker. Hij was "in de buurt" en wilde de meting "nu even" alsnog komen doen. Toen ik aangaf dat dit niet uitkwam, zette hij me onder druk met de mededeling dat het "maar even zou duren".
Toen ik hem confronteerde met de onjuiste vermelding in het rapport, gaf hij aan dat hij dit "niet anders in het systeem kon aangeven". Hij bagatelliseerde mijn bezwaren over het half uur in mijn woonkamer als werkplek. Hij vroeg waar hij het rapport dan had moeten uitwerken. Dit vond ik opmerkelijk; het is niet aan mij om zijn werkproces in te vullen. Ook gaf hij aan dat de meeste klanten het juist prettig vinden omdat ze dan het rapport direct hebben.
Wederom onzin, aangezien je het rapport van de verzekering ontvangt.
Kortom: onbetrouwbare rapportage, grensoverschrijdend gedrag en een volkomen gebrek aan respect voor de tijd en privacy van de klant. Ik begrijp niet dat NN niets aan deze klachten doet.
Ik vind het ook ongepaste dat ik door de medewerker buiten kantooruren wordt gebeld dat hij langs wil komen om alsnog de drukmeting uit te voeren.
Zijn mijn privé gegevens wel in goede handen?

Danny Harvey came & again I could feel in good hands immediately. He was a true professional and very caring & helpful. I now have a dehumidifier to dry things out. He will come again to check & if dry the next stage of reinstatement will commence. So far perfection & thanks to Danny an old man can know he is in good hands.
Polygon Nederland werd ingeschakeld…
Polygon Nederland werd ingeschakeld voor een diagnose van een vochtprobleem bij mij thuis.
Ik heb nog nooit zo'n onverzorgde persoon bij mij thuis gehad. Er zat zelfs een scheur in zijn verwassen t-shirt.
Vandaag kreeg ik het rapport binnen, er stonden verschillende werkzaamheden op die nooit zijn uitgevoerd en ook stond er een conclusie op dit kant nog wal raakt.
Niet te geloven dat een mijn inziens betrouwbare verzekeringsmaatschappij (ASR) met deze partij in zee gaat voor expertises.
Terrible firm
Terrible firm. They were instructed by my insurer (Arthur J Gallagher) to carry out leak and restoration works for a claim placed on 1st March 2024. I was given industrial drying machines 8 months after the claim was placed and told not to dry my clothes in house, all to reduce costs for a water damaged kitchen. I'm in a 2 bedroom flat, damp spores and walls confirmed as very high owing to the damage. Today, 14 months later, Polygon decide to get strip out works started using a third party firm. The third party cannot even strip out the kitchen owing to Polygons poor reporting and understanding of the damage caused by leak. Polygon detect the leak and then sit back, working in collaboration with the insurer to see if they can evade any sort of remediation. No care, cost cutting, cheating firm. Again, I am told to wait for Polygons response - will this occur before the end of year?

Appalling company. Wish I had seen all the negative reviews before even allowing them in to my property.
Failed to find the leak, got dye all over my bathroom and wasted time. Time wasting to take advantage of the insurance company purse. Shocking.

Fantastic customer service & real experts in leak detection
Fantastic customer service from the initial call to the engineer who attended on the day. Was so relieved to have been recommended Polygon from a neighbour who also used them. Very thorough investigation carried out and comprehensive report sent after the visit. Refunded us without us having to ask for the access part of the trace and access that wasn't needed on the day. Engineer called me throughout the visit to explain findings as I wasn't able to be there. And offered for me to call him back directly in the coming days if I had any more questions. Really impressive. Thank you Polygon

Very professional, experienced and honest water leak detection business
Very professional, experienced and honest senior leak detection engineer (Gary). Identified the leak and fixed it. Polygon do not appear on the first few pages of google search under water leak detection. It was by chance saw one of the branded vans and called for assistance. The business is listed on Nextdoor under a different name "R3 Polygon".

One star would be too much
One star would be too much. I read the reviews on here before I purchased the service. Maybe these people had good engineers or worse some of these
reviews are untrue.
I paid for leak and excavation as this is what my insurance company would cover.
After two hours the engineer calls me to say he has taken moisture readings, hasn’t put the heating on, where are the thermostats? No joke. After five hours (despite various calls from me to check on him and the heads up I gave him the evening before) he tells me some water is coming up through tile grouting (that wasn’t new news that was why I had paid Polygon) and to my amazement that he was leaving the property and they would return the excavate fee to me. So I am now out of pocket gbp500 with nothing to show for this and no further along with a fix. They were recommended by a local plumber. I expected actual leak detection draining the system down and using gas to find the leak and thermal imaging. My insurance company Aviva won’t cover trace alone so I am out of pocket. I paid for Leak and excavation specifically so Aviva would cover the entire cost.
Waste of my time and money. Britain is truly broken. This company proves it, quick to take your money and do not follow through with the service they say they provide on their website.
I have demanded a refund of the gbp500 trace fee (apparently management says they have reviewed and I can’t have it unbelievably) or a better engineer to come back and fix the issue. I am waiting for a call back from a Team Leader to further escalate this matter so hope to update this review further.
The rub is on top of the stress of trying to get this leak fixed I now have the stress of spending time and money now with Polygon (who don’t have a customer services director) to stick up for my consumer rights.
