We first used Plusrooms for a kitchen extension in 2018 with a view to a loft extension afterwards. Then Covid hit... We absolutely love our kitchen extension and were so glad it had been finished before the pandemic. We were so pleased with the result that we have just had a loft conversion done building a bedroom, bathroom and study. The company were great. Excellent communication throughout, build finished within the time frame, building team flexible to add jobs on (such as a completely new roof!) when the unexpected came up. The associated electrician, plumber and finishing team were also excellent giving advice where needed. We have to especially thank our project co-ordinator, who worked with us on both projects and was constantly in touch and available to discuss all aspects of the build and finishing especially if when had any concerns or needed things addressed.

We recently had a wrap around extension built by Plus Rooms, and having never done this before they took the stress out of the process. Our project coordinator was great at keeping us up to date on timings and stages of work and they were so good at explaining things to us when we didn’t understand. The extension has created such a useable space, it’s the hub of the home now and we’ve had loads of compliments from friends, family and other contractors!

We were delighted with our kitchen extension - the work was done to a very high standard, and quicker than the estimated time frame. There was great communication with the company, the project lead (including really helpful liaison with neighbours), and the tradesmen. All were very respectful, and we built good relationships with all. I would recommend Plus Rooms to others considering an extension.

What a project! Deciding on major building work at your home is a difficult and trusting journey. We met James at Plusrooms who was very professional, courteous and inspiring. Plusrooms are modern thinkers and offer affordable solutions.

There were some challenges to overcome, but we had faith in the decisions that were made. The experienced team make the process easy for the customer to know what stages you are at from start to finish. I would thoroughly recommend this building company.

We had a fantastic experience working with Plus Rooms to do a wrap around extension to our victorian terraced home and couldn't recommend them highly enough. The level of project management, the quality of the design and the professionalism of the build was incredible. The speed at which they were able to work, meant that we have a completely transformed kitchen with the addition of a utility room and boot room, all within 6 months. PlusRooms were great. The in house team which deals with all the pre-building and planning work are lovely and very responsive to our queries, and problem-solved some issues related to our site. And the builders, electrician, plumber and finishers were very expert, hard working and worked to a high standard. Having a fixed price agreed in advance and a project manager overseeing every detail hugely reduced the stress of a project with so many strands and tradesmen – particularly as we stayed there during the works. Several visitors with experience of building have since commented on the quality of the finish, and items such as the glazing. We’d highly recommend PlusRooms.

From the start, we were impressed that someone came to the house to discuss the project (everyone else quoted over the phone).
The build team were brilliant and really pulled out the stops, working over Christmas to get the job done. And we're delighted with the final finish - it's exactly what we'd hoped for!

Plus Rooms created a comfort zone for two extremely nervous homeowners renovating for the first time. At every phase of our recent large-scale project -- loft and ground-floor extension with complete rehaul of plumbing and electrics and refurbishment of several additional rooms -- the team's expertise, experience and empathy shone through. We especially appreciated Plus Room's 1) responsiveness and communicativeness, which extended to meeting with our neighbours on several occasions when they had questions or concerns; 2) attention to detail, whether in carrying out planning permission or putting the final touches on the finishing work -- e.g., a solution for matching stair railings to maintain period features in our home; 3) deep experience in every phase of the project, which enabled the company to deal confidently and swiftly with challenges , including many difficulties created by the pandemic. Despite the Covid-induced supply-chain disruptions and labour shortages, Plus Rooms delivered the goods and contracted excellent, personable employees to complete our project within a reasonable time and budget. The company had been recommended by my co-worker, and it has been a surprise and, frankly, a relief, that any building company could live up to his unqualified endorsement; but with their high standards of workmanship and reliability, Plus Rooms has met and exceeded our expectations.

We decided to go with Plus Rooms to design, build & manage our entire house renovation, including 2 extensions (roof & side return) and a complete renovation (rewiring, replumbing, reconfiguration, replastering, new windows, etc) of the rest of the house.

We had initially been recommended Plus Room by some friends - and when we met the team through the initial sales & quotation process, we were reassured they were the right company to work with.
They had some great suggestions for how to maximise the space and their quotation process was thorough, transparent and clear.

Plus Room’s management of the overall process was excellent – we always felt like we were in safe hands and whenever the project hit a hurdle the team were able to rapidly respond to ensure we didn’t lose much time. The build team themselves were great – reliable, dedicated & generally nice to have around – and the work has been done to an excellent standard. The project overall was broadly on time – which we considered a result given the scale of the project.

Plus Room’s separate finishing team also did all of the redecoration, carpentry, kitchen installation etc. all of which has been done to a fabulous standard and with a huge attention to detail. Again, they were lovely people to work with.

We would definitely work with Plus Rooms again if we were to undertake another project in the future – and would also highly recommend them to others looking to take on either an extension or renovation project.

We decided to use Plus Rooms for our Victorian End Terrace Side Return after a lot of research and are extremely pleased with the result. From the get go they have been transparent, communicative and professional. They make what could be quite a daunting process very clear with each stage laid out and explained. The work was finished to a high standard and any issues dealt with quickly. The entire team have been great, the builders especially were considerate, incredibly efficient and a joy to deal with. I’ve just completed a wrap around extension with Plus Rooms and has a brilliant experience. The coordination of the build was seamless and we found having one group responsible for all of the work including electrics and plumbing, brilliant. Our building team had brilliant attention to detail and were also a pleasure to have in the house- especially as I was heavily pregnant and with a toddler. I would thoroughly recommend

Working from a shortlist of builders, we eventually chose to work with Plus Rooms. That turned out to be an inspired choice as they helped us get through the planning approval, design and structural calculations, party wall agreements and then building and finishing our dream "Wrap" extension and kitchen, utility and cloakroom. Their work has been first rate and helped a first timer through what is an extensive, complex and lengthy process. The result has been a whole new series of spaces and moving from a cluttered kitchen to a spacious and liveable space.

We used Plus Rooms in 2021 to carry out a side return of our Victorian terrace. We are really pleased with the results and now have a large modern kitchen which has changed the way we live in our home. The builders were polite, considerate and tidy and somebody was on site the majority of the time. The trades used by were top quality and well coordinated by Plus Rooms. The trades were also good as suggesting what would work best for the space through their practical experience. It was disappointing that the project overran but we were building at a difficult time following Brexit and the pandemic and the majority of delays were owing to difficulties in sourcing materials. There have inevitably been some snagging issues since we completed our works but the good thing about using a large company such as Plus Rooms is that you can get hold of somebody to carry out any remedial works required against the guarantee. On the whole, we would recommend them but we would suggest that you spend time fully discussing your requirements at the design stage and make sure that you get a handover meeting and plan in place if you don't use their finishing team.

We wanted to extend our kitchen by extending into the side return of our terraced house. A quick response to our initial contact to Plusrooms was followed by a helpful meeting to discuss our ideas. This meeting also helped in clarifying our thoughts and removing some ideas which would have been more expensive and less practicable. We were very happy with the overall idea of what we would have done. Plusrooms then took away the worry of dealing with planning permission and party wall issues. Before the project started we were happy we had a realistic timeline and budget, but were also made fully aware of the potential for disruption, additional cost and time needed, depending on what they found when they started.

We were very happy with all the tradesmen and their teams employed by Plusrooms, and also the other firms they work with for doors and kitchens. They had good ideas for dealing with building issues, lighting layouts, how to do the underfloor heating and the finishing work, but did not impose them on us, and when snags occurred, as inevitably they will, the team dealt with them speedily and with good grace. They left the house as clean as they could at the end of each working day. Once the building work was completed the fitting team moved in and turned our space into a light, well finished room. Our house does not have straight walls or standard doors, and they advised us well and worked with this to produce really pleasing results. The weekly site meeting meant we were kept up to date with what was happening and knew what would happen next. When we found out that a floor which we had intended to keep would need to be replaced due to rotting joists, they came up with a plan and adjusted the timeline to deal with it.

We used to have a dark and rather narrow kitchen, and we love our spacious new light kitchen/dining room. Having an extension done is never going to be fun (lots of London clay barrowed out through the hall!) but Plusrooms and their team made it as straightforward as it could be. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

We have recently had a kitchen side return installed by PlusRooms - see attached photos. The project design fully met our requirements and the works were undertaken within the agreed timescale. For health reasons we chose to live off site during the project, but the contractors communicated well and we only needed occasional site visits until the final kitchen fitting. We liked the professionalism of the work force and their attention to detail; this included reusing bricks from the original flank wall for the new wall and a glass valley in the new pitched roof to allow more light into the front lounge. We are very happy to recommend PlusRooms and their work.

Plus Rooms built us a side return extension, bedroom extension, new utility room and downstairs bathroom.
We have been very pleased with the results. The worked with us to come up with a layout ideal for our family, with lots of creative ideas.

From the start of the project they organised appropriate surveys which helped mitigate risk later on in the project. They also arranged building us a temporary kitchen (including sink, washer and dryer) which meant we didn’t have to move out. Throughout the build they keep us up to date with weekly reports on progress, and clearly communicated any potential issues and design decisions that were required. Plus Rooms were responsible of delivering to builders finish which was completed on time and to a high standard. Overall the project was very well managed. Any minor snagging issues were dealt with quickly, and we would definitely recommend working with Plus Rooms to our friends.

We are so pleased that we used Plus Rooms to do the renovation of our Victorian terraced house in the second half of 2021. The project involved doing our side return to make our kitchen bigger, extending to make a 'snug' at the back of the house, cleverly reconfiguring the middle room to make a utility and downstairs WC, moving a wall, refitting the upstairs bathroom, and redecorating throughout.

Plus Rooms were professional and a pleasure to work with throughout. The project management was excellent, and communication was superb. The builders were just lovely people. They worked incredibly hard, were very clear about any decisions required and were so tidy and polite. It was a pleasure to have them around. The same was true of the Plus Rooms finishing team, who we used to do the decorating as it made the handover between teams really seamless. The other people who they coordinated (Integral Windows, the plumbers and electricians etc), were also all very professional and genuinely nice people.

The finish is just lovely. The quality of the design and the skill of the people (tilers, painters, etc) really shows in the final result.

Despite working through the pandemic, the project was only delayed by 2 weeks which we thought was amazing, and was completely finished for us the week before Christmas. It took only 5 months, which was hugely important to us, and was delivered to the budget they had given us at the beginning (including contingencies).

Doing this kind of project (especially on a house with no side access!!) is definitely stressful and we really appreciated the speed at which they were able to deliver it, going above and beyond to manage the timings during the pandemic when materials were often difficult to procure. We know other people whose similar projects have taken almost a year, so to do so much in only 5 months, and to such a high standard, we feel was well worth the cost. We are very confident to recommend Plus Rooms.

The real test of how effective a company is, is how they overcome issues as they arise. When challenges arose Scott and Daryl navigated their way forward to take the appropriate course of action. It is evitable, for a project of this size for challenges to arise, and in this project when the issues arose, all queries were managed in a timely manner.

A special mention of how Scott managed the supply chain issue, especially with Integral (the window company) and also helped in alleviating the matters related to Party Wall issues.

Also, a massive thank you to the builders (Dorin and Jonny). I honestly can say were fantastic in the way they managed the project and did not give me a minute's stress. The Electrician and his team were also a massive help in the electrics, and as plumbing issues arose the Plumbers responded accordingly.

The advantage of using Plus Rooms is the project management and pre-build services as it provides a structure of project oversight as well as the providing a process to escalate issues as they come up. The extra layer of Site Manager provides the oversight for quality control in the work performed.
