I do wish there were lower cost options because I think my drive was in perfect condition, it was just locked making it an "easier" recovery, whereas they probably have to fix damaged/broken drives with much more precision. Can't put a cost on 500GB of 40 years of MEMORIES though right!!?!

They did forensic work on my data card to determine if they could retrieve any data, at no charge. Then they assured me they could retrieve the data but would not charge me if they were unsuccessful. The folks at PITS did a fabulous job and retrieved a decade’s worth of priceless family photos I had stored on an external hard drive that failed. Right before the holidays, losing your data is nothing but a nightmare. I had recovered data from my flash drives before, but after a certain point, you just have to let the professionals take care of it. And take care of it they did! My flash drive was corrupted. I contacted them and right away they sent me an overnight and within 24 hours they called with a diagnosis. My laptop was not turning on, and I was stressing out. The PITS office was nearby, so I took my laptop to them. They performed an evaluation of the hard drive, and it turned out that it was dead, but all the data could be recovered. I decided to continue the recovery process with PITS, as I understood how professional they are via an evaluation. I did not regret the decision at all. Within a few days, everything was ready, and all my files were recovered! This is some kind of miracle, and PITS techs are amazing! I am very grateful for their work.

It was a decent experience, the communication was great, the speed of the fix was extraordinary (failed hard drive), and the negotiation of prices was even more so. The only reason why I’m giving this 4 stars is because of the file type that was downloaded. It says zip but it’s in a strange file that I had to use a raropener to get open, but I’m just gonna chalk that up as something that happens when you pull stuff out of a hard drive that failed or got corrupted.
