I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the appalling service from the UK letting agency Londonist, which has caused me both financial loss and frustration.

Initially, my agent explicitly promised that I did not need to remove my belongings from the room I was renewing the lease for. To ensure no mistakes, I even confirmed this with the front desk on the check-in day specified in the contract. However, when I returned the next day, I was shocked to find that some of my personal items had been thrown away—resulting in direct financial damage to me.

I reached out to my original sales agent via messages, sent emails to customer support, and also messaged staff in the customer support department. Despite multiple attempts, I have received zero responses from Londonist.

Without a doubt, Londonist is the worst letting agency I have ever encountered. I strongly warn anyone considering their services to stay away to avoid unnecessary trouble and losses.

Been almost 2 months since I left the place and I still haven’t received back my deposit. Used the customer services in any possible way and haven’t received an answer, yet. I’m starting to get frustrated.

My experience booking my room with Derin was great. He was very helpful as I was looking for a room in very short notice. He helped me book the exact room I wanted and was really quick to respond to my enquiries.

Londonist definitely has to be the best website to book your rooms whether it’s for a short stay or a long stay. My agent Derin has done a great job in finding the perfect accommodation for even in a time crunch. Would 100% recommend this website and bonus points if you get Derin!

Kendimi gerçekten bu konuda o kadar şanslı hissediyorum ki anlatamam bunu. Ömrümde ben bu kadar çok çalışan, bu kadar kibar, bu kadar yardımcı bir kişi görmedim gerçekten. Hangi saat olursa olsun her zaman son derece kibar bir şekilde cevapladı her sorumu. Rezervasyon sürecinde rahat hissetmem için elinden geleni yaptı. Kelimeler anlamsız ona duyduğum teşekkürün yanında. Onunla çalışmak büyük bir zevk ve onur benim için. İngiltere’ye gelecek herkese net tavsiyemdir Londonist bundan böyle!

I have been working with agencies since I was a little child and honestly, Londonist has been the most professional and most helpful so far. Especially Mr.Taha Demirhan. He is the one and only person I’ve had any contact within Londonist and I really feel lucky about it. He replies super fast. Whenever I call, he answers. I initially engaged with this agency when I was exploring accommodation options after my student housing contract ended. While the staff were quick to respond at first and presented me with several properties, none of the options aligned with either my budget or the type of housing I was looking for. I communicated this clearly and politely, letting them know that I would not be moving forward with their listings.

Despite that, the agency continued to contact me via phone and text on multiple occasions. I ignored most of these messages, but the persistence was frustrating, especially as I had already explained that their properties did not suit my needs. Eventually, I secured my own accommodation independently and considered the matter closed.

However, I recently received another call from them. When I returned the call out of courtesy, the staff member asked if I was still searching. Once again, I explained that I had already found accommodation and had been living there for weeks. Instead of responding professionally, the caller hung up on me mid-conversation.

This behaviour was not only unprofessional but also dismissive and unnecessary. As a prospective client, I expected at least a courteous acknowledgement, not to be treated rudely for simply confirming I would not be using their services.

To be clear, I understand agencies cannot guarantee every client will move forward with them. But what clients should be able to expect is professional communication, respect for boundaries once a decision has been made, and a level of courtesy regardless of the outcome. Unfortunately, this agency failed in all three areas.

I cannot recommend them based on my experience. If you value professionalism and clear communication, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
