Gorgeous chalky finish and we love the…

Gorgeous chalky finish and we love the colour. Our decorator was impressed with the quality and coverage. The supreme finish worked well on both walls and woodwork and we are delighted with the results. We’ll definitely be trying Lick paint in other rooms.

Phenomenal paint

Phenomenal paint , best I have ever used and I’m a serial decorator, I’ve used all different brands including high end and this is best one yet, no odour, super fast dry time, lovely finish and was identical to the paper swatch I bought , only needed one coat over a white wall with touch ups , I chose colour pink 12 and it’s gorgeous, highly recommend 5his paint well worth the money xx

Two of the 4 Lick tins I purchased had…

Two of the 4 Lick tins I purchased had some crust and dark pigment from the inside of the tin leak into the paint.

Professional painters said not to use Lick but I liked the colours. Lesson learned and will stick to Farrow and Ball next time.

Lick would not issue a refund so I've wasted a lot of money on white paint and grey paint that had dark grey/black from the inside of the tin seep in. No matter how much the painters mixed the paint, the colour was different and unusable as a result.

Customer services blamed me for not mixing the paint for long enough (again, it was professional painters from a reputable company so I think they knew what they were doing...)

The paint from the tins that were ok and could be used was very difficult to get on the white walls, and took up to 4 coats!! It was a mid tone pink so shouldn't have been that difficult, but alas. It has dried ok but it doesn't appear to be all that durable compared to F&B, or even Dulux paints that are cheaper. The Lick paint also left an unpleasant smell for over a week.

So, not a good experience and no refund, and I'm tired of trying to get anywhere with their customer services, very disappointing.

Great service

There was a 2 week delay with delivery but after contacting customer support Lick sorted it and paint delivered following day.

Loved the Lick paint

This was our first time using Lick. We actually went to B and Q New Malden to buy the paint. However, their paint counter customer service was dreadfully unhelpful and rude. So, I stood in B and Q’s paint supply section and order via the Lick website instead. The purchase via the website was easy. Delivery was quick and my daughter loves the colour. Paint went on easily and à good consistency. We will use again. Highly recommend.

First time using Lick paint and I don’t regret it!

Quick delivery of paint after ordering and noted to be of good quality and easy to use as per my decorator
Before buying I spent ages comparing/reading reviews of different popular paint brands. But lick seemed to have a colours that appealed to me and with clear undertones and a decent price.
Slightly pricey if you compare to Duluth standard or even valspar but worth it IMO
Only negative is when a colour is sold out despite signing up for a notification I didn’t receive one

Excellent coverage, true to Swatch colour

I bought a can of blue 04 Lick paint after liking the shade from their Swatch that I received.
The Matt emulsion paint covered the wall evenly and with very little splatter or drips. I could have got away with one coat as it's depth of coverage was excellent.
The Swatch colour was exactly the same as the paint on the wall.
Definitely recommend this paint

Highly recommend an online consultation

I have used Lick paint before but needed some help with a specific room so decided to use their online home consultation service which i thought was really good value. I had an excellent and enjoyable 30 minute online session with Eloise Leonard-Biebuyck (Lulu) who really helped with colour suggestions and styling. Lulu also gave me some advice for modernising and brightening our hall, retaining some existing features so we’d be able to do the work within our budget. Thanks Lulu, I was a bit nervous having not done this sort of consultation before but it was a great experience that I’ve already recommended to friends.

Terrible paint for the price point

Real shame, we bought lick as loved the colour and wanted the durability but it really is terrible paint for the price point, their samples are supposed to be true to the colour but once dry it was nothing like the sample side by side. Going to have to repaint the house as it’s so green compared to the sample. Was supposed to be Greige 02.

Also the finish is nightmare to get right as is it to work with and cut in with it being so thick. Found watering it down considerably to be the trick.

Awful smell - nice color and cover

The color sticker samples are true to color. I ordered lick pro from screwfix to paint the nursery. Delivery was quick and with the sale, the pro was cheaper than the standard from lick's website. The can had some paint around the inner edge which was odd. Upon painting, as it dried the paint smell was just awful. So strong of a paint, chemical smell. It's a whole week later and it's still smelly- better but still there. I did 2 coats. The color is gorgeous and finish is lovely. But I'm hesitant to use it again. Seems the quality control is poor. They claim low VOC. I went back to the lick website just to read more and some colors are out of stock- how come if it's made to order? I wrote to lick about my disappointing experience and they did respond quickly so I can't fault the customer service. I'm just disappointed this company is so trendy, fun and claims low VOC but the product I received (beautiful color and cover!) was so unpleasant. Not what I want with a baby in the house.

We completely understand your concern about the smell. As our paint is trace VOC, we’re confident that while it can be strong initially, it should not pose a risk to health.

That said, we appreciate that it can be unpleasant, especially in a nursery setting, and we’ve passed your feedback on to our team to help improve the experience for future users.

Regarding stock, our retail paint sold directly via the Lick website is not made to order, so some colours may occasionally be out of stock due to high demand.

We really appreciate your honest feedback; it helps us improve, and we hope your replacement paint gives you a much better experience.
