cancelled subscription yet they kept me subscribed until I noticed half a year later
I had tried the app and subscribed via Apple subscriptions. I had cancelled it also and it’s noted in my app subscriptions that I canceled it back in January. Somehow I’m on a plan with them still though and they are pulling out money from my account - not through App Store but some other way.
Looking forward to connect with costumer service to get my money back! Please respond here to let me know you take accountability for such mistakes!
Update: I appreciate they responded and helped me unsubscribe from the apparent double subscription. And they refunded me the last charge but unfortunately I had this unwanted subscription for half a year. I’ll let you read their explanation and you can see how things occur from their side and decide wether you like it or not:
“We've completed our investigation and found that the recent charge occurred because there were two separate accounts associated with your usage.
The first account was created through the App Store and is associated with xxx [my actual email]. This subscription had already been canceled.
A second account was created on our website using Apple's Sign in with Apple feature, which generated the private relay email address xxxxxxxx [some cryptic email address I’ve never seen before but which is assigned to me in this interaction]. The recent charge was associated with this account.
As a result, this was not a billing issue on our side. The charge occurred because the second subscription remained active and had not been canceled.
To resolve this, we've now canceled the subscription associated with xxxxxxxx [again the cryptic email address] and issued a refund for the most recent charge.”(paladin costumer service)
All I’ll say now is I don’t know how I ended up with a double subscription and I’m still not happy about that. Thank you for helping me after I noticed. However still really frustrating to have been unknowingly subscribed.

Really good character-centric history microdosing app
I've been using it for close to a year and I've learned a bunch about a lot of historical characters. Some I already knew very well and was pleasantly suprised at the level of detail the app provided.
4/5 as of now due to the introduction of AI generated videos for some stories, photos or artist drawings would be much better, less uncanny, less polluting more accurate and/or more creative

Do not get caught with this scam
I cancelled my subscription as was frustrated with the constant quizzes you had to pass. I was still charged for the next month even though I cancelled. Contacted them and they refused a refund and then charged me again the next month. Contacted them again and now no response. Have had to cancel my card to stop the unauthorised payments. Do not subscribe!!

Based on our records, the subscription remained active during that period, which is why the subsequent charge occurred.

Do not use this app. I was charged funds without extending my subscription. I have emailed their 'support' email address 3 times and had no response. Even when trying to cancel my subscription for future transactions, NOWHERE does it confirm this has been done.

Service NOT as advertised. Renewed subscription even though I had cancelled. I did not use the app past first initial day or two. They say no cancellation was made! No notice of renewal either via email. Reported to bank and will be forced to cancel my bank card. Scam.

Do not use this app!! You cancel and they still take the full subscription funds! Totally unacceptable. Update, get 1 email from Paladin and then more radio silence. The most untrustworthy company I have ever come across.

Scammers! They trick you into thinking that you only subscribed for 3 mi tha and then automatically renew your subscription. The app is boring, nothing like their ads. The ads use AI,the app has basic graphics from 10 years ago. Very VERY disappointed! Don't even try to get your money back cause their customer support won't even reply.
