I’m from a derby and I’m very happy with the instant service leaders team provide us for the last 6 months with them. Especially our property manager Steve Fletcher is very supportive and such an experienced and nice person to reach out to. Overall I’m happy with their prompt responses and methodical procedures, which I’m sure is beneficial for us.

Leader letting are the worst company I have ever had to deal with they sort nothing out at all they do ring back ..190 derby road ..it took them 4 weeks to put a door on 3half weeks to fix the central heating in winter no hot water for 4 days problems with the heat rads that don't work black mold over my walls 3 months no action ..complet disregard for the tennets welfare....it's been a horrific up hill struggle with them since day 1.if u happen to read this think twice as it had quite a serious affect on me and my mental health as it has others who live her ...dogs get treated better by fair ....1 word .. disgusting

I have been dealing with Ms Abbie Green for my property at Litmus Building in Nott and the moment she assumed duties all problems that have been piling, methodically she sorted everything out and made me regain the confidence eith Leaders

Hi been working for leaders for 6 months they seem to have a great team I was welcomed on board buy some lovely people who worked there must say a big mention to sophie morris she as really welcomed me in .in all ways helping me out when I have needed it nothing seems a problem to her so helpful and kind and caring always response to emails that I send over so quick very understandable and such a nice person and easy to talk to and so reliable.really looking forward to working with the team and sophie in 2024

Caveat Emptor!!! – Buyer Beware, when signing up with and handing your property over to Leaders letting agency.

As an experienced Landlord and having experience of few different lettings agency over the years I can say Leaders hands down is the most incompetent agency I have ever come across.

At Leaders they are simply too BIG to care and YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER, they do not care about you or your property.

As a landlord I paid for a fully managed service for many years, and what I wanted was an efficient, competent, professionally managed service that communicates well with the landlord.

And what I got instead was the most inefficient, incompetent, and unprofessional service that lacks even the most basic communication skills, that I have ever come across In my entire life.

The level of incompetence shown by Leaders in managing (mis-managing) my properties is beyond belief:

• Many, many, many property inspections missed
• Failure to transfer and register tenant deposit!!!!
• Consistent lack of communication
• constantly and repeatedly chasing the most basic of queries
• Lost set of keys
• unauthorised Maintenance carried out without consent on more than one occasion
• Consistent errors, mistakes and lies
• checkout report / dilapidations inaccuracies where things have been missed
• erroneous charges

All above just some of the failings and by no means exhaustive.

In spite of all the failings above Leaders will not let you out of your contract with them unless you pay a punitive and excessive exit charge of 2 months’ rent + VAT!!!!!, Leaders reward for their failure!!!!, Landlords WARNING think very carefully before signing their terms of business!, they would rather see you pay for their own mistakes.

What is even more shocking is Leaders inability to put things right be accountable and take responsibility, and I do think they just hand out these property titles, of ‘head of property management’, ‘regional director’, ‘ senior property manager’ as none of these individuals that I have dealt with over the past months has the ability, capability or willingness to put things right or to see right from wrong. To be honest the impression I get is that either A the staff simply do not care or B shall we say a little wet behind the ears, in either case simply unacceptable when you are entrusting them to look after what is most people’s biggest asset.

Typical case Scenarios from property managers at Leaders:

Landlord: “why has my rent not been paid?”
Leaders property manager: “I will check with credit control, and get back you” (they never do you have to consistently chase)

Landlord: “why have I been over charged?/ why has my rent not gone into my bank account? / where is my refund that I was promised?”
Leaders property manager: “I will check with the accounts department, and get back you” (they never do you have to consistently chase)

Landlord: “why have my property inspections not been done?”
Leaders Property manager: “I will check with the inspections department” (you guessed it despite promising call back they don’t get back!!!)

Landlord: “I want to get my property on the market when tenant vacates"
Leaders Property Manager: “ I will get someone from marketing to give you a call” (you guessed it this call never arrives!!!)

As you can see this is the kind of scenario you will find yourself in time and again with Leaders, everyone passes the buck and no one takes responsibility of acting on your request/instruction, you are paying for a ‘fully managed’ service and you find yourself doing the managing all the time between all these different departments and playing piggy in the middle getting passed from pillar to post. As a busy landlord paying for a service you want your life to be made easier and not harder.

As a landlord it is probably easier to self-manage your properties or better still sign up to a proper lettings agency, rather than pay Leaders for a fully managed service where all you will end up doing as a landlord is managing the Leaders property manager mis-managing your properties and paying them for the privilege.

I can honestly say that this is absolutely the very worst company I have ever had any dealings with in my entire life as consumer and customer of all goods and services, where the levels of customer service are just abhorrent and the sheer scale of incompetence shown from top to bottom is absolutely disgusting.

I have taken all my complaints all the way to the TPO after exhausting there so called crooked and shoddy ‘complaints procedure’.

Trust and communication are the 2 most impost things to me as a landlord, and I can tell you Leaders, Derby do not communicate at all well and have proven themselves to be totally unprofessional incompetent, dishonest, negligent and totally untrustworthy many many many times over.

Contacted their Derby Branch 8 times in the last week. By Phone and my email. Both in relation to specific ads and just to try and get a hold of a human to ask what was going on. No response of any kind.

So I went into their physical branch yesterday to explain my situation and ask why they aren't returning my calls or emails. To which the person at the desk scoffed at me and said "why do you feel you are owed a reply".

I've gone out of my way, on my day off, to come in and try and use your service. If there are issues, all I needed was an explanation - we are really busy, it's nearly christmas, you're account isn't activated correctly, whatever. Instead I get spoken to like I am human garbage.

If this is how they treat people who are looking for a property I dread to think how they treat their actual tenants and landlords.

The whole company is a complete shambles. I do not recommend anyone is to rent with this company. When it came to my rental checkout, I found the company to be dishonest and unfair on the tenant.
After leaving, there was a significantly large unwarranted cleaning bill, by a company that Leaders did not recommend in their check out pack.
After 6 weeks of adjudication with TDS(Tenancy Depositary Scheme) I have finally today got a large sum of my disputed money back, which I am over the moon about.

I had an amazing experience with Erin, she was extremely professional and hasten up the process for viewing of the property, she gave a listening ears. Really happy with the service and I would recommend leaders to anyone looking for property to let, weldone and keep it up!!!.

Leaders made it easy for me when it comes to renting a property. There was a little bit of problem along the way but Angelina and Thomas was very helpful to sort things out. They respond promptly when they can to emails and calls with regards to your concerns and manage to provide any help as much as they could. They are very nice and very helpful from the very start until the end of the process of securing the property. A big thanks to both of you.

Rang up for help in finding a property to rent. while on the call Erin found a property and booked a viewing the next day, arrived for my viewing appointment where i met Aaron, who was very helpful, answered all our questions, while showing the property. applied for the house right there. the next day i got a call to say our application had been accepted. since then erin has been helping us with all questions and the process of paperwork and checks. both have been amazing during the process and to help find our home. highly recommend both of them, very easy to talk to and understanding. appreciate all they have done

I approached Leaders to find me a property. They’re very efficient and professional. Very good customer care and communication skills. Their system is very clear to us. All the customer care personnel are very knowledgeable about the renting process. I will surely use this renting agent again.

Never deal with Leaders! They totally unprofessional, do not follow any legal guidelines and find it hard to be honest!
Tenants beware they will take your deposit and then make sure you don't get it back by using fake invoices of cleaning companies who don't exist

Honestly, I have no words. By far the worst Letting agents (unsure on the selling/ buying side), I have ever used. April 2022 my kitchen ceiling collapsed due to an ignored repair I kept reporting. This was repaired at the landlords expense and never looked into properly. Over 1 year on and the leak is back and I have another gaping hole in my ceiling with water running out right next to my kitchen light… but it’s not urgent. Here we are 2 months later no further forward and being constantly ignored. Leaders start repairs then never finish them. My bathroom floor is all ripped, my walls pulled apart and never put back together searching for a leak. My bath panels pulled out and never put back. I was chased for rent that I never owed for a year, then once I filed a huge complaint and they actually looked into the matter it turned out I’d over paid by £260+ so they “credited” back my account and I had a poxy apology. I actually sought legal advice over all that but didn’t take it any further once it was rectified. Now I am in genuine danger with water pouring right next to my electrics I am actually taking it further because nobody at all cares. They never call you back. I’m sorry to say that some of the Admin team and property “Managers” have no time for you, make you feel like you’re a nuisance and are ridiculously unprofessional! You only have to read some of their out of office replies, it’s embarrassing for a huge company. Anyway, this is only half of it. I won’t bore you with the rest. You’ll probs read it in the papers soon 😊 AVOID LEADERS AT ALL

Am still bringing up my story to let the general public know of the ill treatment i received from Leaders and thier landlord who threatened.
I rented a 5 bedroom house from Leaders and was advised that it was long tenancy,so i got myself comfortable knowing i was going to leave in the property for atleast 5 years.They tricked me into taking entering a no deposit scheme which saw me paying more than £50/month for nothing. 6 months during my tenancy, they told me they were selling the property and i either had to buy or leave. I was not yet prepared to buy a property and with all the efforts i put to relocate with my wife and 3 children i was confused,depressed and stressed out that i had to start looking for a new home.I stayed in the property for more than 6 months while it was being sold and paid my rent in full an on time as i have always done. We had weekly visits from different persons that wanted to buy the house which terrified my children. I finally got a new place and i had to spend a lot of money again to move,look for new schools for my children,sygery etc. I made sure the unit was kept cleaner than when we initially moved in. Then a month later leaders sent me an email that i owe them £861 and i must pay the money. I also had the landlord at some point threaten me that since i was not a British citizen, he could make life difficult for me, that he knew people. This people are the worst of humans i have ever had to know. They are heartless and will prey on thier tenants
