The biggest challenge was unavailability of staff on the phone when needed - due to local staff shortages. Usually a call back - prompted by head office - came through within 24 hrs. Once on the phone, staff were efficient, professional and very pleasant and competent.

Taking the property off the market was helpfully suggested by the branch whilst property improvement issues were addressed.

The local office staff at Leaders failed to resolve the issue and informed me that there was nothing they could do for me as my deposit is now not insured. They failed to do their jobs 3 years ago.

So: My landlord and agent (Leaders) should have provide me with proof of protection within 30 days from the date they transfered the deposit. This was never actioned and they (Leaders) and the Landlord have broken the law. See you all in court then explain to your boss how you failed and broke the law.

I cannot believe leaders have any good reviews. In my experience they are complete swindlers, will deny you your basic rights and lead you to believe you are forced to pay extortionate rent increases or you’ll be kicked out. As for the manager of the Colchester branch, Pryke really lives up to his title. I would pay money to never have to deal with this shoddy company again. Never again leaders!!
