Ive rated a 1 star, as that is the lowest I can rate. Blocked road drains, pavements full of weeds, incompetent Building Department, failure of staff to know how to contact their department representatives, failure to return email queries, on and on.
No streetcare ( Weeds)
Despite multiple complaints about overgrown weeds on our street and after 2 phone calls to escalate the issue nothing has happened & no response from the Council.
Totally inefficient. We pay our Council Tax for street care!
Money grubbing
Lambeth is on of the most expensive boroughs for council tax in London, and is a absolute expletive-hole. Money grubbing to the extreme with poor services, parking bays suspended without warning so cars are trapped and ticketed. Wandsworth, a few streets over, one of the cheapest for council tax and has far better services, and the council seem to actually care about their residents.

Is it sheer incompetence
or revenue generating lie

They say they want to reduce pollution but they are forcing more cars along rosendale road, creating more traffic, more idle cars with their engines on.
They say they want more people to cycle - so why introduce a cycle lane and then force more local traffic down the very same road
They say more local people will cycle - do they know the demographics of the local population - do they honestly think the elderly are just going to jump on bikes
They say they want to improve safety but with a bidirectional cycle lane and more cars - on a road with plenty of accidents how does that work?
They held a meeting in the local library clearly not anticipating the backlash.
It was so badly conducted with nobody taking notes until we forced them too - no paper consultation forms for the elderly and more importantly not a single person could explain why they were doing this or the council overall objectives.
You can't make it up and then our local council Fred Cowell turns up with his daughter. If you organise an event to hear and listen to people's concerns and have over 500 angry people take time out of thier Saturday how can u turn up with your daughter and then say u have to leave -

Or you can our own surveys show only 8percent of people in favour. Likewise from those who attended West Norwood library consultation where of the 500 plus people the people in favour were I expect less than 20. The council survey may show something else - so not sure how that is - is it ficticious emails put in by contractors - who knows as I doubt if the council does any kind of email validation
All in all madness from the council who wants to introduce controlled parking measures and create more traffic and more pollution for rosendale road

I applied for a job
I applied for a job, took 2 hours of my day into making a decent application into a job I am more than qualified for. Submitted the application at 22.30 in the evening. Six minutes later I got an email saying 'after careful consideration we have decided not to move forward with your application'. First of all, I don't know who works in HR at 22.36 in the evening, and second of all, I don't see how you can dismiss an application on such short notice. I called them the next day to politely ask for an explanation, and they put me on hold with HR for 30 mins until my patience wore out. A completely joke of an employer - don't apply to work for these guys as they are sure to mess you about.

The Lambeth council as someone said are operating as criminals. They keep charging us for not working skip lights or if it's not on the skip. Which is fine, rules are rules. Even if the battery of the light is gone they still gonna give you a fine straight away. But they are doing it as loan sharks, they are sending fines after after 1-2months of issue, which means they can pile up 10-20 of fines before you can address the issue. And you can't do nothing about it , they are ignoring us rather than trying to resolve the issue together.

If there was an option for zero, that’s what I would have checked. No heating or hot water for the 1st 7 weeks after they gave us the keys. It took 6 visits from the boiler engineers before they decided on a new boiler. Then they came a week after we finally moved in and installed the boiler. Various other repairs still undone, work men don’t show up and it’s just a nightmare. Wates contractors have got to be the worse workmen ever. To make matters worse, there are 6 tenants squeezed into the 1 bedroom flat above us, with laminate floors. It sounds like we are living below a playground. We are sleep deprived with on going stress and anxiety. The tenant’s youngest child gets up at 7 am 7 days a week, so no lie in for us. They’ve given the tenants 28 days to cover the floorings but they can’t afford to, so now they’ve given them another 30 days, which ends on April 30th. What are the chances that the tenants will use the same excuse again. Put that into perspective for me please because our ear drums are bleeding. It’s just blow after blow and the council says they can’t move us. Welcome to council property, they say. This is the current situation that we are in. They are playing games and continually tries to kick things into the long grass. They pretend as if though it’s an average sized family living above us. There’s no insulation above us, just a thin 12mil floor board above our heads and no sound proofing either. So we get to hear a pin drop. By the way, the housing officer in charge of my complaint, took the opportunity to let me know that she also lives in a council property and if I don’t think that she’s going through the same thing too? What level of unprofessionalism is that? I said no and I really don’t care.

Lambeth council is currently run by Councillor Claire Holland. She is failing miserably. I would describe the council as fractured, broken and obsolete. Lambeth council is not fit for purpose.
The majority of employees appear to suffer with cognitive dissonance. They appear to have no clue what their individual roles are or how to do them to a reasonable standard. I would describe the majority of employees that I had to deal with as imbeciles.
Further the council is plagued with legal litigation cases allegedly.
My best advice would be to try to avoid all and any communications with this organisation as its defunct.
The organisation should be wound up or placed into special measures immediately to avoid further damage to the people living and working in the borough of Lambeth. #closelambethcouncil

I've had historical issues with paying my council tax (i've lived in several different boroughs over the years and this is the only council that have given me a headache) When I flagged this to their staff they simply don't care or want to resolve. Despite paying all my bills and direct debits from the same card, all of a sudden it's my fault that they don't take my direct debit....to add insult to injury I've been trying to login to the site for hours to change my address (I'm thankfully leaving this council area) but the site took the better part of 30 mins to load and now the login page goes blank. I've tried this in WiFi and 5G so it's not my connectivity.
I've opened a complaint ticket, but like with previous complaints I've logged I doubt it will be addressed let alone resolved.

That was over 20 years ago and nothing has changed! Make an appointment is pointless, you’ll wait for hours, staff are clueless because the shitstem doesn’t work, so 20 years on and into the digital revolution technology hasn’t made anything easier.
I called housing - go through the option buttons 2, then, 4, and the automated phone system takes me back to begining. I'm stuck in a loop!!!

Poor service from lambeth repairs team and lambeth safeguarding team
I had reported to Lambeth repairs team that I have faulty radiators in the two bedrooms and Lambeth had rejected the jobs knowing that my radiators are faulty and that I have a physical
And mental health condition and they have left myself and my fourteen years old two sleep in freezing cold bedrooms for three whole months. The contractors that came did not care about our circumstance and said that there is nothing that they can do as Lambeth has not approved the job for me to have new bigger radiators fitted into their property and have said that I should be paying for the radiators.
Also the safeguarding team for Lambeth are unprofessional as I’ve reported that my mother has faced neglect by her family members and the safeguarding officer said that there is nothing that they can do as my family members are not contracted to care for my mother. I think this is very terrible. This needs to all be looked into because these responses are so unprofessional.

Simply awful. Lambeth’s systems are so dysfunctional - I’ve called up and complained several times about getting a repair fixed in my home. Months have gone by and still no-one’s been out to fix it, despite the promises! Also their online portals seem disjointed and I cannot register on one to make a payment because my reference number isn’t recognised (even though it’s on a letter posted to me).
Then it takes ages to get through on the phone and what you get at the other end is not a lot…

They will say 4 hours for an emergency repair but it’s been 48 hours and I’m still waiting.
They have 0 way of tracking where their contractors are.
Expect to be calling the repair line 5+ times and being on hold for 30+ minutes each time.
If you get a person named Simeon, best to hang up and wait for another advisor. I wasted 1 hr on the phone and he did not help at all.
Lambteh is out of touch
Unreliable service throughout with no access to customer attendants. Makes all enquiries and so long to sort and process. The people that designed this organisation obviously are out of touch with real life and expect that users have nothing else to do than hang on their phones going through the labyrinth of Lambeth switchboards not to be attended in the end.
