Villa ricardo Calpe

Villa ricardo Calpe, OMG do not book this villa. Arrived it was filthy all dining chairs were ripped, sink was disgusting air conditioning did not work upstairs and downstairs was leaking water oven was not secured, skirting boards were damaged and hanging off, cat poo around the pool, bedroom balcony door would not shut,table in room was all rusty, washing machine did not work, handles hanging off doors. The worst holiday we have ever had. The only way to get any joy out of jet2 is to take them to the small claims court. Customer service are a waste of time.

Disappointing jet2 villa holiday…

We have booked many Jet2 Villa holidays but been disappointed on our last two!
Jet 2 no longer seem to check the properties. So things are missing or don’t work. Out toaster blew the fuse. Air con in one room didn’t work, last time we didn’t have any pool towels but didn’t need them as there was scum on top of pool and no pool cleaner all week. The Jet2 service is excellent from their staff, they just need to check out the properties as they are really letting you down and losing you customers ☹️

Villa Margarita Cala D'Or

Villa Margarita Cala D'Or

We visited here August 2024. The 3 stars I have given is for location. Absolutely perfect. Literal 2 min walk to the beautiful harbour and its restaurants, bars and a brilliant supermarket and 5 min walk the other way to the town centre and all its shops and eateries etc.

Villa Margarita was very disappointing and I would not recommend. Firstly the kettle and toaster did not work at all and the wifi was shocking. I informed Jet2 of this via their whatsapp on day 2 and didnt get a response so we had the whole holiday unable to make a cup of tea. We also had 2 teenagers with us so you can imagine the drama of the wifi cutting off every single day!!

There is also zero contact information in the villa about what to do if something is broken. Only emergency contact numbers. No welcome information - nothing

The pool shallow end was about 4 foot then sloping extremely quickly down to about 7 foot - so unless everyone can swim its not friendly - definately not good for kids under 12 I would say. There is also limited space around the pool sun loungers bearing in mind this is a 6 berth villa - you would really struggle. No umbrellas either.

There is good aircon in the bedrooms but nothing in the kitchen or living room which makes those rooms unbearable in the height of summer (especially cooking in the kitchen).

The inside of the villa is really dated and things like cutlery/crockery extremely poor condition.

The main bathroom shower cubicle downstairs didnt drain away and so two consecutive showers every night resulted in the water rising over the shower tray and completely flooding the bathroom.

Maids came on day 5 of 7 to change the towels - thankfully there is a washing machine so I could wash them myself every other day.

All in all for the money this villa cost - its not worth it.

Villa Michaela Cyprus

Villa Michaela provided us a lovely week long family relaxed holiday in Cyprus.

Check in was simple, a key box located outside the front door, the villa was clean with fresh bath and pool towels laid out for us.

The villa itself is a 5 minute drive from both Latchi and Polis, a car is essential as the walk to Latchi from the villa is a bit uncomfortable due to the heat and the hilly roads. I drove and left the hire car in Latchi one evening to have a couple drinks and walked the next morning to collect. A taxi from the villa to either is 10 euro, there is a taxi right in the middle of Latchi.

We booked with Jet2Villas with flights, villa accommodation and car hire included, however the price for the villa itself looked slightly cheaper with Solmar Villa Holidays, I only chose Jet2 for piece of mind having travelled with Jet2 plenty of times previously and liked the idea of having everything as a package.

Inside the villa is very spacious, 3 air conditioned bedrooms, the master has ensuite and a large walk in wardrobe. 2 further bathrooms, an open plan kitchen/dining and kitchen area complete the villa, the only downfall to this is there isn't any air con in the living area, it can become very hot, especially when cooking.

There is a patio area by the pool which we made use of daily, lovely to sit and watch the sunset from there or a morning coffee first thing.

The pool area is lovely, plenty of sun loungers and seating, something worth noting is the pool maintenance, although a pool guy attends twice a week, be prepared to skim the water twice a day as plenty of leafs and grass blows in from the field opposite mixed with dead bugs, nothing the owner can do about this, just part of the villa experience I guess, I skimmed the pool first thing in the morning to get rid of anything that had blown/flown in overnight then again late afternoon.. literally a 5 minute job and everything you need is provided for you.

To the rear is a car port which is covered to keep the car cool when parked. A small patio with a table tennis table, we used it a couple of times but its a little run down and probably could do with being replaced.

A bbq area is opposite the table tennis patio, we decided not to use it as again, probably could do with a bit of TLC.

The only negatives are in some areas the villa needs some TLC, the bbq area and rear patio as mentioned, the kettle needs replacing (plenty mentioned this in the guest book) the ensuite has mould spots in the silicone so could do with a deep clean, other than that I don't really have anything to complain about, only mentioned those 3 points to be fully transparent.

We had a week at Villa Michaela and honestly, wish we booked for 2 instead, it's remote but not too remote and gave us the private, relaxed family holiday we wanted.

We didn't have any interaction with the owners, although mid way through our holiday we ventured out into Polis and returned to the villa to find clean bath towels and a freshly baked cake, I assume the owner came to say hello, sad to miss them and really appreciate the kind gesture of the cake.

We did have a small issue with the pool filter during our stay, I called the Jet2 helpline number at around 9:30am, by midday the pool attendant was there and quickly explained the fault (tripped fuse) he gave the pool a clean, checked chemicals, topped up the water and left...can't fault that for service!

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Villa Michaela, we would certainly return.

A package villa holiday to Calpe

As a package villa holiday with car we did enjoy our holiday and there were no major problems. However there were a number of things which could have been improved.

The wait for car pick up was over an hour, not great after an early start.

Then we had to drive into Calpe town to pick up the keys. Not easy in the middle of the day with one way systems. Instructions could have been clearer and directions to nearby parking would have been good. Similarly having to drop keys back at the office before driving back to the airport made things harder- a drop box at the villa is what we’ve done previously and this is much easier.

Villa-good sized villa with a good sized pool but there was a building site opposite. Work had stopped for August so it wasn’t noisy but it wasnt a nice view when sat at poolside and the only way to get in the gate was to do a 3 point turn into a rubbly yard and reverse in.

The villa has no information on how to work anything, rubbish expectations or locality. Not a big thing but they usually do.
The washing machine didn't seem to work. There were no instructions but we tried various programs and each one left the clothes barely washed and sat in pools of water.

There was nothing helpful in the villa eg salt, pepper, oil, foil etc. again not essential and 1 dishwasher tablet/1 bin bag/1 toilet roll given but you don’t really want to have to go and get everything- again usually there’s things for you to use such as seasoning.

The fridge light didn’t have a cover and when first stocking the fridge it burnt my hand (now scarred) but when we mentioned it to the guy from the letting company who came he did get it sorted very quickly.

Oddly, the iron cord was so short you could only iron about quarter of a T-shirt at a time…very difficult to iron!

The villa was a bit dated in parts. There weren’t mirrors in any rooms so if you wanted one you had to go in the bathroom- not great when 6 people are trying to get ready. The bed in the master room was small and very uncomfortable. It sagged in the middle and we all only had one thin pillow each- not a restful week’s sleep.

As I said these aren’t massive issues; it didn’t ruin our holiday but after 5 other villa holidays we noted that these things all added up to a less pleasant experience to what we are used to nor what we have come to expect from Jet2.

Villa Wisteria, Latchi, Cyprus

Do not go near this villa!! We booked for 2 weeks in June 2024. Several months before our departure we saw a review stating there was construction of a very large hotel nearby, the noise of which could be heard within the villa. We queries this with Jet2villas who denied all knowledge of the construction site. When we arrived the construction site took up almost half of the main street of Latchi. How they could be unaware of this is a mystery. Part of the site actually overlooked the villa's pool area. We also found the villa to be musty and damp smelling. It appeared unclean on work surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms, the smaller of which was crawling with ants. We cleaned everywhere as best we could in an effort not to spoil our holiday. However after 10 days and an influx of cockroaches from behind the washing machine we packed up and booked into a hotel for the final days of our break. On our complaint to Jet2Villas upon our return they were disinterest as we had not complained whilst in resort. We felt the photographs taken were self explanatory, but they were having none of it, they simply quoted their Ts & Cs, basically blaming us for not reporting any issues whilst in resort. Customer service was an absolute disgrace and we will never use them again!!

Villa Orion in Lefkas Greece building site next door

Stayed at Villa Orion in Lefkas Greece. The villa is well equipped and modern with a lovely pool area and amazing views. However the stay was seriously impacted by the fact there was a villa under construction right next door and one behind so we had to put up with construction noise from 8am most days. One day work on the villa behind started at 0730. We had no idea that this was likely as hadn’t been told anything by Jet2 prior to traveling. The villa had apparently been ‘sublet’ of sorts from Solmar villas and it was their rep in resort who we had to liaise with, a lovely lady named Jo who was very attentive and always responded helping where she could with minor issues as well as the building site but there was only so much she could do. Jet 2 absolutely should have informed us of the building works next door!

Jet2 Villa Cordyline in Guia has a superb location and nice proportions but was dirty on arrival and tired inside and out. Cheap furnishings and beds so hard that after 10 nights our backs could not take any more and we had to book into hotel for last 4 nights of holiday. ill fitting and worn bed linen and towels some with holes. Should take new photographs to reflect the true picture as the current ones being used overly flatter it. No mention that it is semi detached and adjoining walls are paper thin. Unfortunately we will NOT trust another jet2 villa by Solmar.

Disappointed

The Resort was very nice and the Villa was fabulous with two good sized bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen, large living space and garden including swimming pool. The Villa reflected the outlay we paid. However, we were very disappointed by the amount of renovation/building work being done on both Villas either side of ours. We were not made aware of this prior to arrival. This ultimately spoiled our holiday to the extent that we left the site during the day for most of the week. The noise level from the disc cutter and shouting between the workmen whilst demolishing and installing a new pool was unacceptable - thank goodness for the hire car and we were able to visit other resorts. The garden, pool and terraces were not usable during our stay. When we handed in the keys and explained our uncomfortable stay we were told that the workmen were not scheduled to be on site during our stay. What a shame because the Villa was lovely. I feel we weren’t given all the information at time of booking because the renovations were quite extensive.

Not even traveled yet ! and…

Concerned about our travel already and not even been yet but just been told we need to cough up €600 for our free /in included car hire phoned up today and really not convinced about this lot just by reading the reviews and not a single reply from this lot not even the lobby mouth paddy ohhhhhhhh dear

Perfect location

We stayed at villa mitto in albuferia was such a lovely villa very clean perfect location close to the strip and no noise at night only thing I could say was it could do with a table and chairs with umbrella near the pool area , it does have one at the rear near the bbq area

Won't be using Jet2 villas again

First (and only) good point: the villa itself is very nice, clean, well appointed and cool.

The remaining points:
The flight out was delayed by just under three hours.
We missed our car hire as a result.
The Jet2 reps at Faro did their best but could achieve nothing.
We had to take a taxi to the villa for 90 Euros
We returned later to pick up the hire car but were informed by Centauro (the car hire cowboys, see separate review) that we couldn't have the car as it was more then 12 hours from the time of the original booking.
We had to hire a car at a cost of nearly 1000 euros as the villa is some distance from Albufeira.
As it turns out, the villa is actually rented from Solmar Villas, who seem to be doing a good job, unlike Jet2 and Centauro.
Obviously we will be claiming back these additional costs from Jet2.

Added on 17th June: Jet2 refuse to pay the taxi fare to the villa and the extra cost incurred in hiring a replacement car. Looks like a small claims procedure may be required.

Villa Siren Heraklion Crete- BEWARE…

Villa Siren Heraklion Crete- BEWARE this villa is attached to a studio apartment and attached to another villa at the back of the property so you don't see this in the website pictures. The pool is for private use but the guests staying in the attached villa have to walk past the pool area to leave their villa. NOT private. Found old clothes and false eyelashes in the bedroom, presumably from the previous guests! Mould in the upstairs bathroom shower. Not a high standard of cleanliness. RIP OFF car hire with OK Mobility (booked via Jet 2 package) was told Jet 2 insurance which I paid when holiday booked is not adequate! Had to pay an additional 330.00 euros. Have made a complaint. Would not recommend Jet 2 villas-first time I booked with them and will be the last.

Good holiday but really bad car hire

The villa and holiday was good but issues with the car hire took the shine off the holiday. We took extra insurance out Jet2, the voucher had this on only to be told that we needed to either pay the car hire people (OK Mobility) €315 for more insurance or pre-authorise €1350 deposit via a credit card which we weren’t expecting (this was also a very hard sell approach). As my partner hasn’t got a credit card and the car was in her name so they wouldn’t accept mine we could only have the car by paying for their insurance as well.
We paid for the extra insurance via Jet2 for a hassle free holiday, this was anything but that.

Unhappy customer prior to holiday

Have not been on our villa holiday yet, just wish I had looked at this site before booking. Received our villa details the other day and noticed we were expected to be out of the villa at 10am day of deparure. Our flight is not until 23.55. We are a group of ladies in our 60s with one member suffering with reduced mobility. What do they expect you to do all day. Received a message from jet 2 Mathew to say he understands the problem but the villa will not allow a later check out time. Come on Jet 2 you go on about looking after your customers but are happy for people to walk the streets for a whole day. Surely needing to look at timings when selling villas.

Landed at Lanzarote

Landed at Lanzarote, then headed to Playa Blanca We drove around for 2 half hour looking for are villa, ( villa Vimar ) We had a phone call from someone from jet2 to ask us if we had arrived i said no because we couldn't find the name so he had to help us to find the villa using Google maps, then to learn it now called JOELLE !!!!! and not Villa Vimar.
So we had the wrong name on the paper work and on are voucher. Bad start, and when we did manage to find the villa the pool was green like a snooker table, so they told us not to use it. So we had to a pool man round 3 time a day trying to sort it out while we was trying to sunbath, it's not good enough the pool should of been ready for us and it was not. We booked a villa with a pool but could not use it for 5 days. We didn't use the pool as the pool man was round every day of are holiday putting in chemicals trying to clear the water. It felt like the pool man was on holiday with us. Sorry won't be booking a villa holiday with jet2 very soon. Going by the reviews i would like to say, jet2 please stick to just holidays because your trying to take to much on.

Villa was poor and so was customer service after!

Nice holiday but a few issues in the villa. Lamps were dodgy and we have young kids. Took a video to show them and was told it passed an electrician test. Told them only one of four outdoor lights worked and there was no light near the bbq, didn’t respond. Told them doors were old and not fully secure, didn’t respond at all to that. Safety for a family villa is crucial. They did respond to lack of pots and pans in the kitchen of a villa for eight, was told I should have asked for more! One, I didn’t know I could but also a Villa for eight should be kitted out correctly to live. I was told no compensation and no real apology. So won’t book again with jet2 villas. Poor! Their flights were excellent though so would use them. You have definitely lost customers over this.
update - a week later they got back to me and continued with the line that all was ok and no compensation would be given, plus no real apology. Safety of your children is a priority and they should recognise that. The customer service was awful. So i said i wouldnt book a summer villa with them again.

Regretted using their car hire and parking not as described

We booked car hire through Jet2 - they used OK Mobility. It took 2 and a half hours to get our car due to a combination of incompetence and attempts to convince everyone to buy more cover. Jet2 had stated that parking was available at our villa. However, the area was densely populated with limited parking and we ended up not using the car much because we were driving around for up to 20 minutes looking for a space each time we returned to the villa. Jet2 tried to blame the villa owners which was unfair because their brochure was honest about the parking. Our first day (of a week long holiday) was spoilt because of the problem with the car hire and being unable to park near the villa to unload our luggage. Jet2 apologised and said they would not use OK Mobility in future, but were very slow in responding and would not make a compensatory gesture. ABTA just relayed a further refusal and suggested we pay for arbitration.

Customer Service non-existent

Holiday cancelled. Initially had issues with the car hire offered, as a party of 6 we didnt want 2 cars so asked if we could swap car hire for airport transfers, this was refused with no discussion or alternative offered. 2 weeks after booking we were informed that the Villa we booked was no longer available. We were offered a 'comparible' Villa which was the cheapest Villa on the Jet2 website (we had originally booked a mid-price Villa) and were told this was the same price as our original booking. We informed Jet2 that we had compared the villas on their website and on another website and the price was not the same but they insisted this Villa was the same price and offered us £50 for inconvenience. They then offered a 2nd alternative Villa which was further away from amenities so was unsuitable. We have refused both options so are cancelling our holiday. Jet2 seem to have a monopoly on Villa holidays but we won't be booking with them again
