I bought my sister a necklace with the ADT subscription a couple of years ago (it’s an add-on so you don’t HAVE you get it. I bought a necklace for myself without the add-on and it worked just fine. Alerted my contacts and everything like advertised. Remember this later.). At one point, she let me know that she wasn’t using those extra features like calling ADT while walking to feel safer, etc. anymore.
The billing date was coming up so I emailed InvisaWear letting them know that I wanted to cancel my subscription. They said there was a promotion going on where I could keep the subscription but have it for $11.99 rather than the normal $19.99 because “affordability is important”. I declined because my sister wasn’t going to used it either way.
They asked why I wasn’t going to keep the subscription for feedback and I mentioned that my sister doesn’t use the extra features, but it’s fine since she’ll still be able to text her location to her emergency contacts through the necklace which is a BASIC feature NOT tied to ADT subscription. InvisaWear said “If we cancel the subscription, her device will no longer be able to send emergency alerts. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.”
Are you serious???? I asked for clarification and InvisaWear doubled down on it and said the subscription was required to use the device which wasn’t true because I didn’t get myself the subscription and I can still use it to alert my emergency contacts. Plus, it never mentions that you HAVE to get the subscription in the description of the product and all of its features.
I let them know how disappointed I was especially since there is an option to give it as a gift WITHOUT the subscription. While “affordability is important”, functionality is too. So does that mean whoever gives or receives that $150 necklace as a gift has to pay $11.99-$19.99 to use it? They also have to pay it FOREVER to be safe? What if they are a college student and can’t afford it? There are several reasons why that’s an issue.
If the subscription is an option, the necklace should be functional as is. ESPECIALLY when you are paying $150 for it. Plus, you have to rebuy the charm after a few years since the battery eventually dies, but I won’t be able to use any of it unless I pay $20 a month forever? It’s quite ridiculous that keeping a loved one extra safe with an add-on would end up leaving them with no protection once the added subscription is no longer necessary.
After I sent the disappointment email, they still tried to charge my card for the subscription again. Thankfully, I froze it just in case they tried that because I didn’t trust them. I had to email back and ask for proof my subscription was cancelled just in case they tried to place another unauthorized charge on my card.
Hopefully, you all have a different experience with this company, but I will never use them again. I paid hundreds of dollars over the years to ensure my sister’s safety just for necklace’s basic, non-subscription function to be taken away when I want to cancel $20 a month add-on.
I received a broken item and it was never replaced. It's been two years. I gave up already on you making it right.

I liked the necklace, but I keep trying to get my subscription canceled and haven’t heard back yet from customer service. I’ve emailed multiple times.

UPDATE:
I have to hand it to customer service. They took back the bracelet & gave me a full refund so points/stars for customer service. They paid for shipping as well.
I had to ask multiple times and finally request a call. I did receive the call and now must return because your company now REQUIRES ADT services with a monthly fee to use these devices. Since mine was working and I was not a subscriber, I needed a call back. Now I'm being asked to pay a $10 fee PLUS shipping to return something and I feel like I was deceived since this is a very recent change and although my device works now, it won't in a few months. I feel deceived by how this was advertised. Strangely, I probably would have added the subscription at some point in the future but now I'm having to return it.

Customer service was great. Christine was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. I ordered an item, I did not like, and with the assistance of Christine, I returned the item and selected another item I liked better. Only disappointment was, I did not receive a label to return item, I paid for returned shipping myself. Over all experience, was a very pleasant experience.

I had a medical problem and needed to hold off (grace period) for paying the $11 monitoring bill but you shut me off so quickly. So now I don’t have it anymore and I relied on it so heavily. So now I need to find other ways to keep me safe.

Never answer, always leave message & wait callback.Took very long time of missed return calls before had exchange different Replacement (out stock, design new chain as many complaints, flimsy) Not receive Cubic Zirconia & new chain sent beyond gaudy, hung to my waist! Working with same person to correct, then receive call be new CS & she was closing my file. Very Stressful experience & gone on 9mths, attempting to correct.

I wanted a refund a long time ago I still haven’t received it I got the product it works but for it to work have to have your phone with you at all times and I don’t Always have it with me so I would like to return it and I was never messaged back but they are usually good with customer service.
