Dpd delivery very disappointing was given a time for delivery came earlier and then went to pickup place it was not there had to go back not good

Bought an oven with a blemish, once it arrived turned out to have some dents that made it difficult to level got a partial refund and an engineer straightened the thing for me. Happy with the service, well packed. The support was ready to sort out unexpected issues.

Excellent 5* Service from the first phone call with a query which was quickly and professionally addressed to the very prompt delivery of my oven.

Customer care excellent

Easy to find and order the exact item we needed. Box was damaged and reflected in the price we paid. Perfect hob inside the excellent packaging to protect it during delivery. I would definitely use Homewise Appliances again. Customer service excellent. We were informed about delivery date and were kept up to speed on delivery window.

What a fantastic company

What a fantastic company, the staff I dealt with were amazing, helpful, polite and supportive, nothing was too much trouble, even when there was an issue with the delivery company, still they were always there and always willing to help.

Extremely misleading company

EDIT: You can see by their defensive and unprofessional response how this company operate - The item was not "unwanted" it was damaged heavily and have photos to prove it, if only i could upload them here, deep hole in the bottom internal of the fridge, hinge damaged, none of which shown on the website and potentially affect the longevity of the item hence the reduced cost suggestion, took 2 weeks to receive a refund which i had to chase. I have reduced to 1 star, please avoid!

Extremely misleading company, be careful when ordering, but I’d avoid all together.

I ordered a beko fridge freezer, which I was happy with the price (£20 less than competitor prices), when it arrived it was battered, bottom had a gaping hole in it, hinges damaged and scratched.

When raising it with them they stated this was a ‘display item’. The Photos’s on their website were stock images, no blemishes shown although they claim it did, nowhere on the confirmation had it stated display model and coincidentally they no longer have any of these fridge freezers on their website.. likely deleting evidence.

Upon further investigation they do sell display models, so playing devils advocate and perhaps I missed this, they do not write this in the title, they use stock images to show as a new item but state in a dropdown description that its display, easily missed when you know the item you want.

I am a savvy person and have attention to detail, If I missed this it’s a clear concealment to trick buyers into paying top dollar for beat up display models, I dread to think how many people have fallen for this and not noticed. Furthermore this is a clear breach of Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, a business cannot hide "material information" that would change your decision to buy, Hiding the "ex-display" status inside a sub-menu or deep in the description while leaving the title and price layout looking like a "new" product is a textbook violation.

I offered a compromise of a discount but was refused and collection with refund was offered (something I guess and only reason I’m giving 2 stars). I’ll be reporting to trading standards to prevent this misleading tactic from being used going forward, screenshot evidence provided.

Well where do we start. Firstly this review is totally different to all our other reviews so that says something straight away. We checked this customers other online reviews to find a pattern of poor feedback and angry sentiment.

We never set out to mislead anyone all our listings including titles, descriptions and photographs portray an accurate description of any item we have for sale. We do use a mixture of stock and unique photos for a individual item clearly highlighting any cosmetic damage if applicable.

The majority of our items are unique and we have fast moving stock so when a item is sold it is archived from our website, we do not remove any evidence as this customer inferred. The item they purchased was removed from our website as it was no longer available for purchase.

This customer did not miss anything due to the following, they used a discount code which was in the description, had they not read the description they would not have known the discount code used. At the point of checkout the customer confirmed they had read all descriptions and viewed all the photographs allowing them to proceed to checkout.

The customer offered what they perceived to be a compromise but this was bordering on extortion demanding what amounted to a 60% discount to keep the item.

We are a fully registered company and abide by all distance selling regulations.

Once the customer informed us that they could only keep the item if we offered a very large discount. We requested our nationwide couriers to collect this item and return to us.

We acted above and beyond our terms and conditions for returns by refunding all transport costs even though the item was not faulty, it was just unwanted and this was refunded as soon as the couriers had collected, and the customer did not have to wait until it was returned and booked into our warehouse.

This item was already sold at a discounted price due to cosmetic blemishes which would not be seen when installed. We couldn't agree to unreasonable demands under the threat of poor feedback.

We acted professionally in a timely manner to collect and provide a full refund to this customer.

Updated from "Homewise fine but delivery team rubbish"

I'm updating my poor review (below) following a very helpful and welcome phone call from Homewise to apologise and explain how the problems may have occurred. Very few firms would take the time to do this so I have upgraded them to 5 stars. I haven't opened the item yet - it's a large extractor fan - but am confident that all will be fine.

(Earlier review):
I'd like to give Homewise a higher rating because their website was good, the price was competitive and the ordering process was straightforward. But the delivery team (Furdeco) was terrible. They kept getting lost (easily done in the countryside), so I gave them What3Words and clear directions by phone. My neighbour also helped them but they were reluctant to come down the hill. When they finally got to our address they refused to come down the lane to the house. Fortunately, my builder was here and collected the item in a sack barrow. If he hadn't been here the drivers would have left the item out in the pouring rain.
I've reviewed Furdeco here on Trust pilot and on Google, and have had a good response and an apology, but Homewise need to address it too.
