Called at Chariots Keep this afternoon for advise about bungalows. Alison was extremely helpful and explained everything clearly for us. She gave us more ideas to think about and showed the plots available, and what we could do with them, regarding parking. We went away with plenty to think about, she was most helpful and extremely easy to understand, explaining things clearly for us. She also told us about the part exchange they do, which was most helpful and gave us another option. Thank you for all your help

Had a wonderful experience buying a home from Harron Homes at York Vale Gardens in Howden, Goole. Nicola, in the Sales Office was extremely helpful in the search for our new home and took a lot of the stress out of buying when suddenly family matters took priority. She was very thorough in getting things done and communicating between us, the solicitors and estate agents on daily basis. Beth Gillott also helped us get the right deal at the start of the process. Once our house was nearing completion, we were introduced to Russ, the Site manager and Dan the Assistant Site Manager who gave us a tour around in hard hats of our new home and gave us a preview of what the house would look like. We were also able to ask them any questions we needed answering. I felt they all went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. I am now in my new house and the build quality and features that we have is second to none. Thank you Harron Homes for our dream house!

Natalie supported us to reserve the plot, she had incredible knowledge of the homes and Shelly then guided us through to completion (Doncaster) they have been absolutely incredible, nothing was ever too much trouble. Shelly is efficient, caring and attentive, she went above and beyond! We are so pleased with our house, it was spotless and felt like home the moment we entered. The site managers have also been amazing. We would 100% recommend!

We purchased a Harron Homes property in 2024, expecting quality, but instead have faced ongoing issues including problems with the structural blocks and render, persistent garden waterlogging, and even mould appearing within the property.
Despite raising these concerns repeatedly – and even quoting the exact NHBC clauses that outline their obligations – Harron still refuse to act or provide meaningful solutions. Their aftercare has been dismissive and obstructive, leaving us to chase endlessly and escalate everything to NHBC.
The reality is once Harron have your money, the commitment to quality and customer service disappears. If we had our time again, we would never buy from Harron Homes.
Edit to address Harron’s reply:
Harron state that issues have been “investigated thoroughly,” but here’s the reality:
• Render/Blockwork – Harron agreed only to patch visible pops, while refusing to address or investigate the contaminated blocks, despite identifying them as a root cause.
• Garden Waterlogging – We submitted multiple photos of standing water next to the house, but Harron chose to inspect in summer when no rain had fallen, then declared “no standing water.” Their investigation focused only on topsoil, irrelevant to drainage obligations, or what we reported. NHBC Standards Chapter 5.2, Section 11 states ground levels must allow proper drainage away from the building.
• Mould – Harron admitted mould was caused by the house not being dried properly before handover, then dismissed this as “normal” and refused to fix it. This breaches NHBC Standards:
• Chapter 1.2, Section 2.1 – homes must be fit for occupation and free of contamination.
• Chapter 8.3, Section 12 – homes must be adequately dried out before completion to avoid mould and condensation.
Even after raising the exact clauses with Harron and questionning it, Harron’s closing statement has been “our position stands.” In other words: they admit the problems, but refuse to act.
These are simply the more serious of the snags, from a long list of others that remain unresolved.
This is not what buying a new home should be. Once Harron have your money, you’re left chasing, quoting NHBC standards yourself, and still being told nothing will be done.

Excellent service and communication from Charlotte at Shipley Lakeside. I already live on the site and had a great experience first time round and am delighted to be buying for a second time as it’s our dream home in an ideal location. We part exchanged for a Salcombe in 2024 at High Gables completing on one of the final plots of an estate that was primarily finished in 2021.
The part exchange team was fair and professional. While we hoped for a bit more for our previous property, the offer was reasonable. One suggestion would be to separate the part exchange offer from the reservation process to allow more time for financial consideration. Special mention to Alison who went above and beyond to help us secure the home and specifications we wanted.
What truly sets Harron apart is their aftercare. After hearing countless horror stories about new builds, we’ve been pleasantly surprised when dealing with the site team has been exceptional - addressing snags promptly, keeping us informed, and offering thoughtful extras like complimentary skips for our boxes and moving clutter.
Our home is beautiful - warm, thoughtfully designed and spacious. We had a professional surveyor inspect the day after moving in, who was impressed with the quality of finish considering the build timeline. We had 37 snags in total, mostly cosmetic, which Harron has been systematically resolving.
As second-time new build buyers, our experience with Harron has been night and day compared to our first. We couldn’t be happier with our new home!
We feel very lucky to live here and want to specifically thank Alison and Caroline for their outstanding support during the purchase process, as well as Phil and Mick on site for their exceptional aftercare and attention to detail. The team has truly made this experience special.
The only area for improvement is the handover process from the site team to customer care for final snags. While the site team addressed issues rapidly, once the remaining items were transferred to customer care, progress slowed considerably. We still have 2 outstanding items that were identified months ago - brickwork cleaning and a missing bush from the original landscaping plan - which have proven difficult to get resolved through the customer care system.

Terrible site aftercare from them. We are on the Hockley Croft estate in Langthorpe and have had to endure for months looking at the eyesore of a pallet of skips, rubble, fencing . What was supposed to have been cleared age ago. Not that hard to remove a skip but after 7 years of work doing this site it really does not surprise me. Sort this out Harron Homes!!

Honestly, can’t praise Ann enough. From the moment we walked into the sales suite at Brierley Heath, she was so warm, welcoming, and just genuinely lovely.
We’d spoken to lots of other people at different developments, and none of them came close to how helpful and kind she was.
What really reassured us was when she mentioned she’d worked for other companies before and said, genuinely, that Harron Homes are amazing to work for and how she admired the homes they build. You could just tell she meant it, it didn’t feel like she was saying it to make a sale. She talked us through everything that comes included with the house (which would be extras with other companies) and was really honest about what to expect. Her passion and honesty gave us a lot of trust in her and made us feel confident that buying from Harron was the right decision.
She explained everything clearly, answered every random question we had, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. We honestly didn’t think we’d be able to get our dream home, but Ann made it feel possible. She put us in touch with brilliant brokers and a great solicitor, and it just made the whole thing so much easier than we ever imagined.
Even though we’re still waiting for the house to be built, she keeps us updated every week. You can tell she actually cares about how things are going for us, and that means a lot when you're going through something this big.
People like Ann make a huge difference, and we’re so grateful she’s the one helping us through this. Can’t wait to see the house finally come together, we feel really lucky to have her guiding us through it.

I have had my eye on getting a lakeside house at Shipley since February.
Charlotte in the sales suite has been wonderful to work with during the whole process, so friendly and helpful and checking in regularly to ask how my own house sale was progressing. Anyone that I have spoken to from sales to construction people when I was shown around a similar home have been really personable.
Due to personal circumstances I have now had to decide to move elsewhere but I have to say that my experience this far with Harron was wholly positive.
