Re Taunton Green Thumb - awful service

Re Taunton Green Thumb. Very quick to sign up a contract last year but didn’t turn up when they said they would with no response to calls or emails. Terrible service. We have cancelled the direct debit and will find someone better. A real letdown.

Poor service follow up from this company.

I responded to the face book advertisement and completed the online form. I spoke with a technician who seemed very knowledgeable, we discussed at length my requirements. I was keen to proceed and have a consultation, and advised the technician of this proposal.The technician wanted to progress this and I was keen too get it in place too. She said she would ask the team who schedule the appointments to call me back, however she said it would be more likely they would progress my package and call me if I committed to the monthly maintenance programme before the initial programme had begun. At this point I had not seen any outputs or results to my lawn to commit to such a package so why would I commit to a monthly package without seeing any results or returns, she agreed.. The technician initially didn't seem to get why I would not commit to a monthly arrangement until I was satisfied the company could deliver on the lawn.

She said that the team who book these appts would call me back. I've not heard a thing since, and that was over a week ago.
I've not heard a thing and given the that I have a small window in time for the lawn repair it seems highly unlikely that they can deliver as she described.
Why offer a stand alone service if you have or are expected to purchase or commit to a monthly service before you have seen any results. Still.not heard a thing from this company and I have a small window in time with which to get this started or I miss this opportunity for this year. Very poor, disappointed and not a great way to get customers on board really

Weeds and moss

I have used GreenThumb for many years and put up with poor results far longer than I should. I have just cut my lawns for the third time this year, and as I stood looking at it, I thought why am I paying good money for this.
My lawn is not a bowling green or cricket pitch, it has moss and weeds that to a degree is not acceptable. I have two weeds that are at least 6 inches across. I would like a manager to come and tell me why this is, and if this is as good as it gets.

Why I have given such a Poor Review

The reason I have put a poor 2 Star rating is nothing to do with the people doing the frontline GT work. For instance, Neo based in Newark was thoughtful and did an excellent job today, a credit to the Team. Unfortunately, I can tell, having run a successful business, involving lots of staff with lots of hour by hour scheduling with a strong commitment to customer care: (a) There seems to be a disconnect between national management and the frontline – perhaps exacerbated by distance. In my experience the problem was not so acute when GT was a locally based franchise. (b) There appears to be a disconnect between scheduling and the frontline. My impression, based on experience as I say, is that scheduling does not appear to understand what the frontline does and e.g. how long some types of service take. This places pressure on the frontline and will adversely affect morale, job satisfaction and staff retention. That is also to the detriment of quality, continuity and customer satisfaction, in this case mine. (c) There appears to be an evident disconnect between the company’s current centralising aspirations and the standard of communication with both the frontline and with customers. The accessibility of management/ scheduling in particular is extremely slow and poor as my example below indicates. In summary, the result of the above is that long term customers such as me are being let down and become disappointed, frustrated and are prone to leave poor reviews for legitimate reasons. My own scenario of poor service is that a GT service was planned in for regular lawn care as usual. I was notified that frontline would attend on such and such a day. They did not. There was no explanation given. I called a local GT frontline contact who had previously said as a friendly gesture some while ago that I could call him in the event of any issues. He said he thought there had been sickness but he would speak to scheduling and the service would take place in a couple of days. It did not. A week after the original due date I emailed the email address for the worksop branch. No response has been received to this day. I believe from speaking to GT that these email addresses have all been re-routed nationally now. So perhaps no wonder. No response is terrible customer service. Having had no reply to my email I had to spend 6 minutes waiting on another later day to connect with someone in Wales at the Head Office. That in itself is not at all satisfactory. Phone calls from customers should be picked up after 3-5 rings at most if a quality service which pleases customers is to be delivered. I asked them what the problem was. It transpired that the missed service had not been rescheduled. It had simply been cancelled! That is terrible customer service. If I had not called, then what? In the event I asked if they would contact the local frontline people to ensure the delayed service was delivered that day. It wasn’t. However, I received an email saying it would however be done between X & Y time on the next day. Fair enough. But the email said it ‘will’ be between, not roughly or maybe not. I waited until 35 minutes beyond the latest time in the 'slot' had passed. Nothing. So fearing a repeat no show, I spent a further 9 minutes or so on the phone waiting to speak to someone. I was then placed on hold as they spoke to scheduling/ the local people. I was assured they would arrive in about 45 minutes which they did, as above. They were not the usual people and may perhaps have been shipped in given my complaint. Newark is miles away from here. So in summary, I must ask myself why was I forced to make three calls and spend about half an hour on the phone to ensure I got my longstanding regular service? And why what I needed was first cancelled and overall delayed by over a week. And the reasons, I believe, are as I have explained above. That is why I have given GT a Poor 2 Star Review and am now considering going elsewhere. It is not satisfactory for longstanding good customers to be let down in this way. Not at all. I am hoping that by sending this review improvements will be made.

Terrible Service, Very Let Down

After a great visit, confirmation of the work to be carried out came via email and text message.
On the day a text to say that the workmen would be arriving between 7am and 9am, received message at 8am.
By 9:30am I rang the local company and spoke to "Olivia" who answered my call and said they were coming. At 10am I received a phone call from the person who was doing the work to say they weren't coming as they didn't have the "equipment".
I have rang Olivia back numerous times, who was very proffesional (not like the company), and was informed that her manager would contact me.
I am still waiting.
After reading the 1 star review answers, the bog standed reply was "email us". I don't think so.
Some care with your customers would go a long way.

Nobody arrived to do the work and I was not informed of any delay.
I telephoned head office at 1.30pm to find out why and,behold,within 10 mins the operatives arrived.
I would add that the work done was very good.
My comments are given merely to assist your admin.

Just the patio flags were treated.

Just the patio flags were treated. I was expecting the steps to be included also, but they show a marked contrast now from treated to UNTREATED paving!
If the area was too much to be treated in one visit/or cost, I would be happy to pay a little more for ALL areas to be cleaned.

Service with a smile.

Team encountered a hail storm shortly after starting the upgrading of the lawns but carried on to complete the task and clearing the site of all debris etc. First class representatives for Green Thumb.

Avoid this company

I’m a long standing customer and up until recently quite happy despite the rising prices they want. Since they’ve restructured or whatever, the service is rubbish. I’m with the South Manchester branch, though not for much longer. They cancel visits at short notice, take your money, never reply to requests, cheat and lie. After this I cancelled my direct debit and guess what - they got in touch straightaway. Not to reply to the many issues I raised but wanting me to reinstate the direct debit. You must be joking.
