We interviewed several travel companies prior to choosing Gorailtravel as our partner. Our interaction with Sean in our planning process was very positive. We had several calls and he followed up with changes we made and provided answers to all of our questions. The Swiss rail pass travel was easy to use. The trains were clean, on time and got us to all of our destination easily. The hotels that were chosen were 4 Star Plus with breakfast included. Every hotel was located in easy walking distance from the train station. Each hotel was unique as were of the in all of the 6 cities we traveled to which included Lugano, Lucerne, Grindlewald, Montreaux, Zermatt and Zurich. We did not want to overbook tours or attractions. Our travel consultant listened well, and booked tours or tickets to specific activities we were interested in. Each of those bookings were spot on, to include a winetasting in the Vaud Region, a Chateau Visit on Lake Geneva along with many suggested walks, hikes and places of interest. We utilized their recommendations and took boat and ferry rides, hiked Mt Rigi outside of Lucerne. We also visited Jungfraujoch the highest mountain in Europe. Another booking included the Funicular up to see the Matterhorn. Our Swiss Rail pass gave us access to public buses, ferries and the cogwheel trains in several locations. We never had any problems during our trip. It was seamless. We will definitely use the services of Gorailtravel and Sean for future trips. We highly recommend their attention to detail, professionalism and the customer service.

Dylan made up an excellent and understandable trip itinerary including my wish options on hotel needs and areas to visit. Couldn't have decided this trip without him.

We appreciated Merlin taking the time to learn about what we wanted and the type of experience we hope to have. It is easy to have stock package deals. Attention to the customer is different.

These days a traveler can put a package together on their own. We chose to go with GoRailTravel instead because of the customer service. That made the difference.

Thank you to the GoRailTravel team, especially Alex and Adam. Alex listened to my wishlist for my latest trip to Europe. She created an itinerary that met each expectation. The hotels were great, train travel tickets were perfect, and recommendations for sightseeing were spot on.
As with every long journey, there was a glitch. I emailed Alex and she responded within 5 minutes. We resolved the issue and I was on my way in 15 minutes, and never thought of the issue again!!!
Alex and I have debriefed and we are planning a new trip for 2027.

I ventured to book my first solo trip, and had help from Alex. She tailored my trip like a bespoke journey. There were things that went wrong, and Alex was there for me. She checked in on me regularly and was available to help me work through most issues.

Having said that, the total expense of the trip was….cumbersome. Perhaps it was my own inexperience in travel, so I don’t begrudge the cost, but there were elements that I would modify in hindsight. It was a bucket list trip for me, one that will stay with me forever, one that changed me in the most positive ways. The price does not undo my rating of Alex, who I believe did an excellent job in her role.

I must say Scotland stole my heart, and If I knew how to post photos to this review I would struggle to pick the best ones. I felt safe the whole time I was abroad. The people I met, both locally and the other tourists, were warm and kind and friendly. I did not struggle with luggage, as there was always someone offering help (I am physically disabled and only brought carry on for two weeks). I lost my phone, and it was turned in immediately and the crew of Scotland Rail were most helpful.

Alex is GREAT! We began not really knowing what we wanted besides some very generic requirements. She designed a 24 day trip in days that got us off a blank itinerary and gave us the boost we needed. Within a week and several calls, we had a complete, wonderful trip planned! She was attentive and followed through with all our desires. She even provided recommendations for items she couldn't book herself because of Go Rail Travel's criteria. We are now in the phase of getting it all bought and paid for.

Meeting Anna on video chat yesterday was awesome. She has been very detailed orientated and always answers any questions I have right away. I am really looking forward to my trip as I know it’ll be extra special because of the planning that has gone into it by Anna.

But on this website i have looked through many reviews and they are all about the planning. Is there anybody out there that have gone on these trips and had good experiences?

Tristan is the best! Just completed planning a 14+ day trip to Scotland. Tristan planned and shared countless options to meet our needs. During our first meeting he listened to what we wanted to accomplish and then came back to us with suggestions right on target as well as offering several ideas we had not thought of. Tristan is professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend him and gorailtravel.

We had a wonderful trip overall and made many great memories, and I appreciated the team's responsiveness when problems arose. However, several planning and logistics issues created unnecessary stress. Hotel reservations were sometimes difficult to locate because they were booked under "TBA," some hotels were much farther from train stations than expected (one was a 30 minute drive away), and accessibility considerations for an elderly traveler using a wheelchair were not adequately addressed. We also experienced challenges with transportation to planned activities, lacked reserved train seating despite a fixed itinerary, and faced unexpected out-of-pocket rental car costs that were not clearly communicated in advance.

While the destinations and accommodations were generally enjoyable, better attention to accessibility, transportation logistics, reservation details, and upfront communication would have significantly improved the experience. Overall, a good trip, but the execution fell short in several important areas.

Sean went out of his way to make a special map for us so we felt comfortable wherever we traveled on our trip. It was so thorough, it was beyond our expectations. I'm not sure when he sleeps because he seemed to answer our requests whenever we emailed him! 5 star!

I've been working with Sean for a few months, and we still don't have all the details figured out (on our end), he has been patient and knowledgeable about all my questions. Most importantly, I'm looking forward to planning and working with Sean! Travvelinga nd planning can be so tedious, and he is making it fun and even enjoyable!

I just booked a rail trip in Scotland next year! Alex was very accommodating and listened carefully to my needs. We are very excited! I will definitely leave a review next july after our trip.

We booked a painting trip to Scotland for 30 artists, and my what a time we had! GoRailTravel provided an ambitious and gloriously scenic itinerary for us. Our personal coach driver, Tom, was wonderfully flexible and was able to adapt our route so that we could maximize our painting experience and spend less time on the bus - he was funny and full of great knowledge and the painting sites he recommended for us were stunning!

The hotels that Adam, our tour planner, booked for us were excellent, and our trip went off without a hitch, even though we had an occasional hiccup. We learned a lot about how to travel with a group this size and are already starting to plan our next trip to Italy! Can't wait!

My fiancé and I just completed a three week trip to Ireland with the help of GoRail! Alex, our agent was very helpful in putting together our itinerary with rail and bus lines! During our trip and after we were very thankful we did not try to navigate the island by car! Very narrow roads where some of the cars were almost in the bushes and the roundabouts and the cities would’ve been very difficult to navigate on the wrong side of the road!🤪 When we needed some help, all we had to do is email and within a short time we had a reply from the company to answer those needs!
