My interactions with everyone at this company were night and day better than others. The entire process from estimate, to customer service, to movers, and the driver, all were Golden Gate team members and all fantastic. They helped remove the stress every step of the way. A particular thank you goes to Douglas and his team... they worked so hard and got everything packed up and moved out really quickly. They were also incredibly understanding about my space estimate concerns and put in the effort to keep it as close to the estimate as possible. I was really nervous but it worked out perfectly. If only I could request Douglas and his team on the other end of the move :)

I had a great experience with Golden Gate! They were on time, packed all of my things and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Delivery was just as easy. They worked with me on my delivery date since I was moving across country and needed time to find my new home. This company and their employees ruined my life. They lost 35 of my boxes filled with my clothes, art work, my kids toys, tools and all of my books and vinyl records!
The sales person told me that my belongings wouldn’t leave the truck, that they would only be on the truck with one other family, that the company had been in business 20 years, and that we wouldn’t have to pay for a shuttle to have them delivered, all falsities used to secure our business. Because I believed her when she said that our items wouldn’t leave the truck, I moved forward with them and signed the contract. I was very naive to believe that a human wouldn’t tell such blatant, bold-faced lies. I can’t even begin to add up what her lies have cost me. This company has maybe been in business one year. Perhaps their previous companies like “Pacific Coast Movers” and other moving companies that get shut down after a year have been destroying lives for 20 years, but by the time I hired them they hadn’t even been in business a year and they had hundreds and hundreds of perfect reviews . They even forced us to pay an extra $2,000 upon delivery saying that they couldn’t deliver without the use of a “shuttle” after we were guaranteed that it wouldn’t be necessary.
The government agent at the DOT told me that they don’t even believe they have their own trucks and they’re not a carrier but a broker who hires truck drivers to dump your precious belongings into warehouses and storage units around America. Call the DOT and ask them about this company, they’re currently being investigated. Call the bureau of home goods and services and ask them about this company.

The movers arrived at 8:00 am and moved me from my studio apartment in New York to Chicago. All my items arrived in the same condition. They did a great job and i would Highly recommend them to anyone looking to move across country.

Thanks to the packing crew and the movers' caution, none of my belongings were harmed in the relocation. I can't speak highly enough of them!

Best purchase of 2023, hands down! It's incredibly convenient and a real time-saver, especially for someone who's always on the go. All you have to do is apply the toothpaste and pop it in your mouth, it's that easy.

Thanks to your help, sending my motorbike was a breeze. They transported it carefully and with the right tools, so it arrived at my new home in fine shape.

Moved from California to Oklahoma. Was quoted a decent price, but upon the people who were packing the trucks arrival, the price almost tripled. We were backed into a corner & had no other option. We were given a delivery date twice by the same person & then our stuff actually arrived 5 days later. The people who unpacked the truck didn't reassemble any of our items as I was told they would do. We were missing several items as well as we received someone else's mattress. And we had big items broken and damaged. The process to start a claim has been a nightmare. We never received a checklist when they dropped our stuff off & the list we received on pickup just had what was quoted, not what was actually packed. And the company to submit the claim through will not accept more than 2 pictures per damaged item. They want receipts for everything that is missing (even if they were gifts or handmade). We way overpaid to move. We should have just sold all of our items & started over for what it cost us. I'm so disappointed.

Edited to add: they called me 12/27/23, but due to the holidays & it being a busy work season for me, I was unable to call back until 1/4/24. Left a message & haven't heard anything since.

I would like to specify few things about Golden Gate Relocation Movers-
1) Anas and the team is simply amazing. Anas kept me informed about their pickup the day before and on the pickup day. They came right on time which I really appreciate.
2) Anas walked me through all the details and explained all of my questions.
3) Anas and his entire team is extremely cordial, cooperative and helpful. I was little late to pack few last minute boxes and mattresses but they helped me sumptuously. His team was fast and did their job thoroughly. Packing and moving is a stressful job but when you work with such a wonderful team things become much easier.
4) Also I would like to call out Dennis Mitchell the sales person I worked with, an amazingly cooperative person. He helped me with all the details, noted all my preferences, and even accommodated few modifications afterwards.

Right on time, they set to work the moment they arrived. May there be a few of you who find my jokes amusing even after all these times. as much local assistance as possible.

Received estimate from salesman, listed all furniture and boxes, told me he could get our move from $4400 to $4200, accepted bid. Well day of move truck showed up then another dude showed up and told me I had more stuff than listed. It was true I had 10 extra boxes but left three pieces of furniture off the truck, told after truck was loaded I had 300 extra square ft so need another $2000 to ship, then also charged me $300 for some paper and tape. Then another $700 at the end of the trip. So salesman who was less than truthful said he could move me for $4200 but the move actually cost was $6900. Salesman said they do not broker trucks….not quite true….Salesman knew of the $300 charge for packaging but still told me he cold delivery for $4200. I believe the salesman knew of the 4th person was going show up to strong arm you by telling you that you are over square footage with no proof or explanation. I really feel liked I got robbed, but live and learn. One broken 55 inch TV during delivery also. I am not even going to file a claim, I am positive they have an excuse for it. I would never recommend this company to anyone and needless to say I will not use them again. Go somewhere else they have a game plan its not in your favor, they missed my estimate by 67%

Sadly GGR has attempted to discuss the situation with the client who claims we were dishonest in our quote when in fact the documentation the client received and SIGNED shows that the client in fact did add more than 9 items to his move not noted or quoted to him in his estimate. The client had more goods he pays for more goods obviously. The client can file a claim for his damages tv but refuses to do so. If the client had not hung up on me during our conversation I would have been able to discuss what the client refers to as "brokering". Again he is uninformed and incorrect; I could also have explained the shuttle fee (which is discussed if one reads the docs) but he had hung up on me. While we understand the client was not happy when the move increased it increased based on adding items at pick up not included in his quote.

I am not going to stay on the phone when I am getting yelled at. I in fact had 9 more items, but said it was 337 square feet more, I say not a chance. It was 9 medium boxes 4 square foot each so 36 extra square foot but was charged for 300 plus extra square foot. Not arguing I signed the paper work I paid the price. I honored the contract so stop talking about the contract. Whitney said i could have had them unload the truck after I was up charged if I did not like the new price, but you are left with no choice. If you decline service when they show up I would have lost $1500.00 deposit. So my choice was lose $1500 and your stuff does not get moved or pay the extra $2000 and at least your stuff might be moved. The guy that added the amount was not even there for 3/4 of the load but was able to pull 337 square out of thin air. Whitney you lost your cool thats way I hung up let’s be honest here, your truck people and salesmen lied to get business and your sticking up for them. Go watch a move you will see. I stand by my review and would highly suggest no one to use this company. People please read the over 50% bad reviews all echo’ing my story. Unethical at the very least.
Whitney says in her reply, I again am misinformed and incorrect, I was giving an estimate from the salesman for $4200 and the total cost ended up being $6900 now who is the one that was misinformed and incorrect?
I am not claiming they were dishonest, I am telling you in my opinion and warning you they are dishonest. On the contract it says $50 in packing material but they actually charged me over $300 for that I would like a refund.
I did not file a claim because the 55 inch TV because the company would have offered me $12.00 that is per their contract of $6 per pound. (At some point you just stop letting a company rip you off)
My opinion is I feel like I have been robbed. Lesson learned!

Buyer beware. Luckily I copied and pasted and screen shot the first response please read above in my review then read the one just posted. Wow wow Do not Use. Filed a complaint with the BBB
Whitney and GG relocation please refer to job number 4574489. That is the estimate for my second of three moves planned. The estimate is for around $9000. Using the data from my first move I would expect that to go to $13k by the time you loaded the truck. This move will be going to some other moving company.
I will not be deceived again, this is what you lose when you are less than honest and unethical.

It is true we talked but there was no resolve but lessons learned

Gabby demonstrated exceptional professionalism and played a crucial role in enlightening me about the intricacies of long-distance moving. Her thoroughness, efficiency, and helpfulness were truly commendable. I wholeheartedly recommend this company based on the outstanding level of communication and customer service she provided.

I am writing this letter so many months after the move because it took several months to unpack and repair the damages.

We paid for the white glove service and a dedicated truck, ($1250 each).

We planned a move from Chino, CA, to Lacey, WA, in May 2023. After doing due diligence, interviewing various moving companies, reading reviews, checking with the Better Business Bureau, the CA Department of Transportation, and a number of moving companies reviews, we hired Golden Gate Relocation LLC to move our household. Even though it seemed as if we picked a reputable company, we were mistaken.

Some of the issues: we contracted for a White Glove Package, and even though we packed over half of our belongings, the moving company was to pack the rest. That happened, but in a completely slipshod manner:
1. The job foreman was not on site for much of the time as he had at least three other jobs he was supervising. It would have been helpful if he had been there as communication was difficult as we are not fluent in Spanish and many of the workers did not speak English.
2. Items from several rooms were packed in one box. Actually, items from several floors were packed in the same box.
3. Boxes were unlabeled.
4. Items were packed in a haphazard manner (a child’s rocking chair was placed inside a lampshade inside a box.)
5. Liquids were packed that should not have been packed and soaked through boxes.
6. Two expensive paintings were placed in one box with no paper or any other wrapping between them, so the glass broke.
7. An oil painting has a small rip in the canvas.
8. We are missing items, almost too numerous to mention, but including a heavy glass shelf for a china cabinet. There were six; now there are five. We are missing a major component for our patio table.
9. We paid for a dedicated truck. When the driver who delivered the load had to leave our house to go to the warehouse to pick up “the rest of your items,” it was obvious that we had not had a dedicated truck. By definition, a dedicated truck means that the truck was to go from the old to the new house without a stop at a warehouse–the trucks were not to be unloaded.
10. Delivery was to be made before noon, per the driver. He called and said he would be late, arriving about 3:30 and leaving before 6:30 because, as he stated, “I need to be in Sacramento tomorrow by noon.” Not only was he late, he and his help put boxes in the garage, in a room–nothing they packed was labeled–and left. In fact, all the boxes were dumped in the garage, furniture was brought inside.
11. A large roll-top desk was placed upside down in the room.
12. We had to ask to have beds put together, and parts were missing. We had to ask to have the dining room table put back together.
13. A dresser had a leg broken, so we had to repair that.
14. An antique shelving unit was broken, even though the packers and I had talked about it.
15. When the supervisor put together our bed frame, he dropped part of it, creating a long scratch in the newly refinished floor. Another floor was also scratched.
16. Not only did we lose items, we inherited some, including a single bed box spring, and new picture frames.
17. Other items were disassembled for packing, but not reassembled, which was part of the contract.

We contacted the company and were told to go through their arbitration process. We did. We were offered $75,00 That is a joke. We had several thousand dollars of damage. At the least, we should be reimbursed for the services paid for and not delivered ($1250 each for the dedicated truck and the White Glove Package.)

In reference to the response from Golden Gate LLC, we did go through arbitration. That's what we were told to do and that's what we did. So, saying that we filed a claim and did not go through arbitration is a lie. An absolute lie. The amount offered at the end of arbitration was an insult--$75.00--which does not even come near covering the damage to the new floors caused by the driver. This company not only does not provide the services they promised and that we paid an additional $2500 for, they lie. Not effectively labeling boxes they packed and then dumping the load into the garage instead of placing the boxes in the rooms where they were to go, is no way near the $1200 "White Glove Service" we purchased, and the fact that we ended up with possessions that belonged to other people is a strong indication that we did not get the $1200 purchase of a dedicated truck. The response we just received is a lie, a misrepresentation, and an insult.
