Gap medics was one of the best programs I have ever had the privilege of attending. The minute I signed up, the coordinators could not have been more friendly and helpful. Upon arriving to the program, everything was taken care of, transportation, food, finding activities. I met some of my best friends to this day, and we are always planning reunions even though they live quite far. Our house coordinators were so trust worthy and amazing. I recommend this program to anyone who is interested in medicine, or interested in going abroad for new experiences. I cannot say enough good things about this program.

Gap Medics is really a life changing experience. I spent two weeks in Warsaw, Poland and I would do it all over again. The things I saw, the things I learnt and the friends I made are just things you wouldn't find anywhere else. If you are thinking about going, I would definitely recommend doing it!

Gap medics was the best the experience ever, I've made life long memories with life long friends. Everyday in the hospital was seeing something new, different surgeries & meeting different medics.
The staff were the best and THE CHEF WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING!!!
The house we stayed in was huge and the play room and garden really topped it off.
As soon as I landed I connected with all the girls as if we were best friend who've known each other for more then 10yrs.

The uk office were so helpful (shoutout to Amber & Georgia), the whole experience is crazy and I 100% recommend it to everyone, not just students interested in healthcare professions but everyone. The whole experience rating is a 12/10 from me.

Gap Medics was a once in a life time experience and I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone thinking of going into a medical career. It has shaped me as a person and completely altered my perspective of the diverse healthcare across the world. I have learned so much about the types of medical conditions and hardships faced in the Dominican Republic with limited resources they have. The mentors were extremely helpful, answering my questions to the best of their ability and the Gapmedics staff were so lovely and made you feel comfortable in the house straight away. Most of all the people I met there from all around the world have become great friends and we all connected so well, and have made unforgettable memories - I am so grateful for the opportunities gap medics provided and miss it all so much!

Everyday on my Gap Medics trip was a new and exciting experience! Not only were the hospitals amazing to learn from but the the staff/mentirs were so helpful in aiding me to understand what is happening medically. Other than the hospitals, the house was cery fun and welcoming! The activities up for option were so interesting and a great price. Thank-you Gap Medics for this once in a lifetime opportunity!

Doing the nursing placement in Pula, Croatia for two weeks was the best decision I have made. I got introduced to a completely different healthcare system and so many new international friends. Sometimes you just have to commit to stepping outside your comfort zone, this was my step outside and I would easily do travel through Gap Medics again in a heart beat!

I spent 2 weeks in Croatia on a medical placement with Gap Medics and absolutely loved every minute of it! From the moment that I booked the trip Gap Medics ensured that I had everything I would need. Once on the trip, Gerry was great for making sure that everything was going smoothly with placement, and made sure we always had to something to do after placement. The mentors were amazing for showing us lots while on placement and trying to make sure that we spent as much of our time in placement observing something. The trip was beyond what I expected and would go back in a heartbeat!

GapMedics was such an awesome experience for me! It was so fun living with roommates, shadowing doctors at hospitals, and just having fun in another country. It was interesting to see the health care system in another country compared to the United States. Each week you shadow a different mentor and experience something new! Also, the staff is incredibly sweet and does everything to make you feel comfortable. Croatia will always have a special place in my heart! :)

I really enjoyed my trip to Pula with Gap Medics. The experience was like nothing I had expected it to be, the supervisors are very approachable and easy to talk to. The environment in the house is very safe and welcoming with everyone willing to chat and exchange stories about placement. There is a good balance between placement hours and activities in the local area with the option to stay later at placement should you wish. Overall, I would highly recommend this placement opportunity to anyone who is serious about pursuing a career in medicine or dentistry.

If you’re a highschool graduate and don’t know if you really want medicine or not, then gapmedics is the place for you. If you’re a medical student and want to gain more experience, Gapmedics is the place for you. It has a place for anyone and everyone. I have never grown to love a group of people in the amount if time i spent there, but in 2 weeks, i grew to love everyone as family. Gapmedics does not only help you grow in your medical fields, it helps you grow as a person. After a mere 2 weeks there, I honestly feel like a different and more mature person.In my medical fields i was able to see various cases i didnt even know existed and learnt so much. Gapmedics also did an amazing job at choosing their staff. you’ll never see a more loving yet proffessional group of people in any other program. All in all, I rate gapmedics an 11/10 . Its an experience you wont want to miss!

It was such an amazing experience, meeting doctors, nurses and new friends from different countries who are great people to get to know and the staff are amazing and very supportive. We saw many surgeries and it amazed me every time. I would recommend GapMedics to whoever wants to know what the medical field is like or to have more medical experience.
It was something that I did not expect at all, I was nervous when I travelled to Pula, Croatia when I landed I met the trusted taxi (that worked for over a year with GapMedics) who was wearing the gap medics t-shirt and travelled to the house and met the staff and other students, I felt right at home when I arrived the gap medics house :). I am definitely going again next year along with a friend and I also recommended this program for my eldest niece when she turns 16 :).

Deciding to do the 2-week placement in Croatia was the best thing I have done and I am so happy with the experience and help I have received from the Gap Medics team in the UK and in Croatia. The departments I was allocated to were also very exciting especially ENT. I found this department to be the most valuable as it helped the most with my experience in observing real-life surgeries, the complications that may arise and how to deal with the problems calmly. During my stay in Croatia, I made so many new friends and good memories that I will cherish forever. I would definitely recommend Gap Medics to anyone who would like to experience a lifetime's worth opportunity.

Amazing!! This trip exceeded my expectations BIG TIME!! I met incredible people, including the staff, the mentors, and my housemates. I made lifelong friends and will forever remember this trip. In my placement, I observed interesting cases and even learned how to take blood pressure! I would do this trip all over again if I could and I HIGHLY recommend it!

The Gap Medics program was incredible. It was an eye opening experience that allowed me to gain an honest insight into the life of a medical professional. All the members, from administration to the mentors themselves, made the process effortless and despite being a first time solo international traveller to a non English speaking country, not once did I feel unsafe and the gap medics house became a home away from home. I would highly recommend this program to any student interested in a career in the medical field.

Going to La Romana through Gap Medics has been the best decision I have made. I have learned so much about the body, and the countrie's culture. As I was going through the process of signing up and preparing for my trip, Rachel and Georgina were always reaching out to make sure that I was doing okay, and if there is anything they can do to help. They made it easy for me to feel calm and prepared for my trip. When I got to La Romana, the staff was so welcoming and so nice. My mentors at the hospitals were also very kind, and they made sure that the group knew, in detail, what we were observing. Before coming on this trip, I read in one of the articles that the staff and the housemates become family. I can truly state that we all have become a little family, and made friendships that will last a life time!

Gap medics provided such a great experience, starting from the moment I booked my trip. Every member of the staff was caring and helpful, the house was incredible, and every day at placement was thrilling and engaging. I would recommend Gap Medics to anyone!

My time in Santo Domingo was absolutely amazing! From the time I booked my trip, I felt at ease. Rachael was there to help me every step of the way; and if I had questions, she responded quickly. On my arrival at the airport, two people from the Santo Domingo Gap Medics staff were there to greet me. They were very friendly and created a wonderful environment for us in the house. I also had some great mentors during my placement at the hospital. My favorite moments in Santo Domingo involved exploring the city with my housemates. Overall, it was a great experience for me. I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

This was an amazing experience from the word go! Rachel in England was beyond helpful and the staff at the house went above what was required and always made sure we were happy and helped us to plan and make the most of our free time
