I paid in full
I paid in full, then was told I had to paid twice that amount for 'insurance' then I was contactted to pay 5x that amount for 'customs'. I did not pay that. I have contact both Global Meds who used antoher scammer to try to charge me a fortune in 'customs' fees. Stay well away from these scammers. They refused to refund the money paid.
Refund Request not Addressed
Good evening.
I have sent several emails to the company that promised to handle the situation in the past year but received no reply.
I am currently located outside of the UK. Therefore, I am not sure how else I could contact you.
Both my sister and I paid the full fee but never got to participate in any trip. We exchanged emails with the person in charge in April and May of 2022, filled up the Proof of Debt Form and then they stopped replying to our emails.
We are still students and need to pay for tuition.
Please let me know if you have any updates on our refunds.
Any update would be greatly appreciated.
I am starting a small claims court…
They have gone into liquidation taking my cash with them!! Good riddence you bunch of ffeekkers!!!
I am starting a small claims court action against this company. I will update you with any information I get as I can see there are many of you with the same issue.
I also feel victim to this because I…
I also feel victim to this because I was supposed to go to the Dominican Republic in December and they cancelled it due to covid which is understandable HOWEVER they are failing to get back to me after I found out online that they cancelled all trips and I did not even receive notice let alone a refund. Please give me a total refund this is ridiculous and upsetting.
Dominican 2021 changed my life
This summer I was given the opportunity to travel to La Romana, Dominican Republic. I went to La Romana with an open mind as to what I would learn and experience. Once I arrived I was met with immediate cultural immersion. During my time there I was given the ability to shadow in the trauma and orthopedics department of Hospital Dr Arístides Fiallo Cabral. While I had experienced international travel and medicine often as a child this was truly an eye opening experience from multiple perspectives. When I returned stateside after my experience I was a changed person. The amazing culture and people of La Romana were just what I needed after spending a year plus in the COVID lifestyle. After my time I quickly shifted my career and life goals to helping others. Whether that be through medicine or other means I want my legacy to be helping others. In the Dominican the culture is very different from that of the United States, most evidently to me through their health care system. The hospital I was placed at was a public hospital not able to turn anyone away from care. While public hospitals are great this also meant that the standard of care was not like those of other local hospitals. However the amazing people of La Romana were so thankful and so kind. They could have been sitting in the lobby waiting for an “appointment” all day, but as soon as you were able to help them they would do anything for you in return. The staff of the hospital changed my whole view on medicine. It reminded me of the humanity in medicine that is often lost in the United States Healthcare system. With this new mindset of focusing on the humanity of medicine, I have goals of practicing international humanitarian medicine in third world, rual, and underserved communities both within the United States and abroad. My goal is to impact and educate as many different communities with the goal of improving healthcare for those I meet. While this is a lofty goal, I know that leaving an impact is what my true life goal is and I will push myself to continue to challenge myself, my beliefs, my experiences, and my opinions to be the best version of myself for others.
Housing - The house was amazing! I arrived after a long trip with several hiccups and was instantly greeted with some amazing views, food, a pool, and vibrant people. The house was located in a beautiful safe gated resort with access to a private beach with AMAZING ice cream.
Food - The chef's made amazing local cuisine with some American stables at time. Very open to request and dietary issues.
Program Staff - The program staff was very helpful, all they wanted was for you to have a good safe time.
Mentors - The mentors were really willing not only to teach you but learn from you as well. It was a life changing experience. All of the hospital staff was very welcoming and willing to teach us despite the hardships of COVID.
COVID - The protocols seemed harsh yet lax, however I feel they did the best possible given circumstances and cared about our safety.
I wouldn't let the lack of upfront information, price, etc deter you from applying and attending their programs. This program truly is a life changing experience if you let it be.
Wasted my time.
They are dealing with the covid-19 stuff really poorly. I was supposed to go to the Dominican Republic, and my primary reason for going there was to gain Doctor Shadowing Experience in Spanish. When I said I wanted a cancellation, they were so annoying about trying to make me do another trip instead of just letting me refund it. And then they only gave me a 50% refund. I got nothing out of this except a bunch of empty promises, wasted time spent on phone calls, and getting robbed of my money.

I had an amazing experience with Global Pre-Med. the entire staff was amazingly supportive and friendly. They truly made me feel safe and welcomed. I made friends from all over the world that I am still in touch with to this day. It was fun to be surrounded by people with similar interests to me. I also learned so much at the hospital and outside of it. My mentor was absolutely amazing and encouraged my curiosity and ambition to learn. The whole trip is something I will never forget, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in going into the health field or curious about it. It was also an cool experience to be in a hospital that was treating locals from a third world country, and it made me want to help people who need it the most.

I am a biology pre-med major and I attended the global pre-med shadowing experience in the Dominican Republic. The program and hospitals are well adapted to covid and following all the protocols to keep everyone healthy and safe. I am looking to be a pediatrician and being in the ER and watching the doctors with the children gave me great insight. To be able to witness surgeries in the OR was such a dream! The house we stayed in and the beaches were something out of a fantasy. I felt listened to from all of the staff and accommodating me whenever something came up. I left the Dominican Republic mores sure than ever that the doctor path is for me! It was the best experience of my life. For that I will forever be grateful to Global Pre-Meds!
INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
This trip was seriously amazing. Even through a pandemic I managed to get so much out of this experience. I wanted to go into medicine for a long time and this trip completely reaffirmed my decision to do so. The in hospital experience was so interesting and I learnt so much! Definitely recommend!
Global Pre-Meds - Great Learning Experience
The Global Pre-Med program is an excellent program for anyone interested in working in the medical field. I had a wonderful experience in the Dominican Republic, where I learned about their culture and met new people. The staff and mentors were friendly and were very accommodating to our needs. During the week, our day started with shadowing, where I was able to watch multiple surgeries, see consultations, and have learning sessions where I learned how to create a cast on an arm, put in an IV, and suture techniques. Afterward, we had free time to relax, go to the beach, and participate in any planned activities such as karaoke, trivia, etc., throughout the week. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend this program to those interested in the medical field.
This trip was actually life changing
This trip was actually life changing, and I can not wait to go on another trip by Global Pre Meds!
Global Pre Meds
Hi all! I recently attended the Global Pre Meds program on July 18-31. I loved loved loved the program. I met amazing people, ate great food, stayed in a beautiful villa, got to do what I loved, and the experience overall changed me as a person. I was barely on my phone and I lived in the moment. The staff was wonderful and held a lot of activities to keep everyone involved like salsa dancing lessons, BBQ's, movie nights, karaoke nights, yoga, etc. Before I actually went to the program I thought that it was way overpriced but to me, it was worth the money. I would do it all again if I could. The only con is that the COVID-19 protocol seemed rushed, a few of my program mates tested positive and felt neglected, and alone. In terms of COVID-19, I personally felt safe (wearing masks, rapid testing available, etc) but be prepared to come out of pocket and venture kind of on your own if you do contract COVID-19, hopefully the plan for that is better now!
A great experience. I would definetly recommend to anyone planning or considering any healthcare field.
The Global Pre-Meds program in the Dominican was an amazing experience for me as an undergrad student considering medical school. I didn't know exactly what to expect going in, but came back with many new experiences, connections, and stories, but more importantly a new perspective on medecine in an under developed setting. The experience was eye opening to say the least, and gave me new motivation to continue on my path towards medical school. I enjoyed the experience so much so that I have signed up to go on the Tanzania program next summer.
Once in a Lifetime Experience
A life-changing two-week experience that offered a first hand look into the healthcare system of another country. I am so grateful I had a great mentor to shadow while learning more about the Dominican Republic hospitals. I got plenty of shadowing hours and even some hand-on learning experience. This program provided me a unique opportunity to experience Dominican culture through fun activities and excursions while simultaneously furthering my own educational and professional goals. Highly recommend.
Global Pre-Meds Program Review
I had an amazing experience with the Global Pre-Meds Program. I met so many incredible people and got to make some lifelong connections on the way. I am so grateful I had a great mentor to shadow while learning more about the Dominican Republic healthcare system through which I gained an immersive and holistic understanding of the medical field in a foreign country. The Global Pre-Meds Program provided me a unique opportunity to experience Dominican culture through fun activities and excursions while simultaneously furthering my own educational and professional goals.
Global Pre Meds Trip to the Dominican Republic!!
The Global Pre Meds trip to the Dominican republic was an Amazing experience that I will forever be grateful for. From the villa we got to stay in, to the mentors given to us in the hospital, to the team we had throughout our trip, I can truly give this program a five out of five stars for the care, experience, energy, and information it provided.
Before you get there, they place you in small groups that are within different parts of the hospital and the placement relies partly on your specific interest in the medical field. I was placed in obstetrics, which aligned with my goals with working with children and found that experience to be once in a lifetime!
We got to witness numerous surgeries, had our own personal PPE & scrubs, and were the doctors shadow in every aspect of the word.
I cannot recommend this program enough if you’re truly pursuing a medical career and want to fully immerse yourself in the healthcare world and see passionate doctors working everyday to either bring new life into the world, or help save the ones already here!
Outside of the hospital, we also swam, snorkeled, went to the beach, a restaurant, and did a boat tour along with numerous other activities so outside of all of the medical fun there was also a lot of time to unwind after a long day!
Global Premeds Program is a life…
Global Premeds Program is a life changing experience. The staff team and mentors are excellent, always doing their best for the students. I got to see a lot of things, learn and make a lot of friends. Definitely recommend this program.
An Amazing Program
This program really opened my eyes about healthcare that is outside of the United States. I left feeling incredibly enriched with new information about both the culture and the health aspects of the Dominican Republic. I would definitely recommend the Global Pre-Meds program!
Global Premeds was one of the most…
Global Premeds was one of the most amazing experiences of my whole life. The mentors were so dedicated and knowledgeable and everybody working at the house was so kind. I learned so much and made so many new friends! I would recommend doing this program even if you are not interested in medicine because it is so eye opening!
This program was a life changing…
This program was a life changing experience and something I wish I could do again. Definitely recommend to students who want to shadow physicians and watch surgeries. Everyone was very friendly from the beginning and it was so much fun. After hours at the hospital we went to the beach or hung out by the pool. I made friends of a life time that I didn’t think I would. The mentors and student coordinators were also amazing. They even took us out sailing and snorkeling over the weekend.
