Stay well clear. I feel violated. The charger doesn't charge anywhere near the rate as advertised. Of course any decent, meaningful charge then takes you over the 1hr 30 minute time limit. SO THEY TH... Mehr ansehen

Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish. 4 chargers all reported as being OK.Turn up and all 4 faulted. I updated the status on their website and then complained. They said ,"but the website shows they are faulted" derrr, because I updated it! Then they admitted that they had known for 2 weeks that they were not working but did not change their status on the website. So basically disdain for their customers and dishonest behaviour. Avoid like the plaque.
Misery personified
Like everyone else, I’ve joined the club of charging disappointment.
Made a trip down to Devon, specifically looked up the charge point in advance, no issues mentioned re power point out of order, wonderful, let’s get on the road and go.
QUELLE SURPRISE, get down here with little charge left as the plan was to re-charge when parked up…. It’s out of order.
More chance of a Liz Truss appreciation society coming about than getting through to their customer services ‘help line’.
This is the second time it’s happened to me with a Genie point. I don’t know what I hate more, them or the fact I went electric.
UPDATE: I got through to customer services and he was incredibly polite and helpful, but still no light shone on getting power.
AVOID THIS NETWORK
Abysmal to deal with. Had to install ap. Took ages then the charger would not work. Called them and the technician could not get the issue fixed. In spite of not being able to use the charger they still took £25 from my account and they say to allow 7 working days for it to be refunded.
AVOID THIS NETWORK ( if you can).
Would have given 0 stars if it let me
Would have given 0 stars if it let me! Had to sign up to an app and £25 taken straight away from my account only for the machine to not work!!!! Then emailed customer services multiple times as has been a week with no sign of a refund. Not one reply from them. Terrible service all round would not use again
Tried a charging point but only…
Tried a charging point but only discovered after waiting long on the phone that it wasn’t working. Nearest too far to walk
Company wastes customers time app useless
Tried to charge at Morrisons Norwich. No instructions on machine, had to download app that required huge amounts of totally unnecessary personal info including the make, model and year of my car. Took almost 30mins as writing is tiny. Cable too short do had to wrangle it into car even though I have a mini! Charger OK but then could not release it as app didn't work properly! Had to ring customer service who did release it, but basically said everyone who calls says the same thing. Why can't you respond to feedback by improving User Experiences? Just get contact less! No one wants an app!!! I'll never use this again, charging on the go is annoying anyway why make it longer for no reason!!!!
4 out of 6 Chargers not working, Sheringham
Been using genie point in Sheringham. 2 chargers have been out of order for several months, two more have just gone down, so the only one I could use was in the disabled space. I emailed them of course, but I’ve had no reply. How this company can survive I do not know.
Shocking
Shocking! DO NOT USE!
Worst experience ever using a charging point. Took £35 then £25 still couldn’t get a charge yet holding my payment for upto 7 days! Fuming. Disgusting and the company needs reporting
Very expensive
Very expensive! £28 for 1 hour rapid charge that gives you 200 miles, glad it was a courtesy car, companies like this is exactly why drivers will hold on to petrol and diesel models for as long as they can.
Geniepoint you won’t be in business long with your prices and these reviews
Belle ends...
These clowns have EV chargers in three locations around me, in a holiday area of Devon. None of them have worked for months, no repairs are made, and when punters roll up and try to use them they are nabbed for a twenty five or thirty five quid card funds hold - even though Geniepoint are fully aware their equipment cannot deliver a charge.
Customer help is deceitful. They know their hardware does not work, yet they encourage drivers to undergo troubleshooting procedures regardless.
The result is mayhem, with holiday makers ending up having to beg private charge point owners for help, or get recovery trucks to flatbed them back to the M5 motorway services over an hour away.
The only answer is to boycott these bozo's wherever they may have working chargers. Use the competition instead. Geniepoint do not deserve to exist.
App and charger worked okay
App and charger worked okay. The cost of a charge for 1 hr charge cost £3.81 and it got me the grand total of 6 miles travel. Also £25 pre payment is also very concerning as they have 30 days to return fee. If it costs more than petrol/diesel how can electric cars possibly work. Home charging is cheaper. You can decide if they are taking advantage.
Most of the chargers do not work
Most of the chargers do not work
The generosity chargers should be taken off the map to avoid confusion
No help or assistance when charger failed to release from our car
As ever the potion of the EV charger is not signposted but we found it after a couple of circuits of the car park at Morrisons and then the issues began. Plugged the charger in but the contactless payment was broken. Phoned the helpline and they advised to pay via the website, so I did this and started charging. it stopped charging immediately. call back to the helpline. They advised try again. So I did. But it stopped charging again. So we decided to cut our losses and search for another charger. But the charging cable would not release from our car. Another call to the helpline, who took me through a number of steps - basically lock/unlock your vehicle and pull harder. Still stuck. After an hour of this the helpline lady said she'd send an engineer (4 hour wait!). But after she referred to her "higher manager" (Tracy) they refused to send an engineer. Call your roadside assistance we were told, they can help. We did and they can't and won't help. The car manufacturer can't help. So we're now 1 hour 40 minutes stuck to the charger. Against all advice we switched on the engine and hey presto the charger released. Genuinely awful service. Geniepoint were prepared to leave us in the car park forever. Completely washed their hands of their machine's fault! Avoid at all costs.
They never work
They never work. Always out of order. I now use anything other than genie point. Avoid avoid avoid
Avoid charges you twice
Beware of taking holding fee twice, when finished charging asks you to put your card again to release the charge but it takes another holding fee off you so thats 2 x £35. When phone customer service tell you 3 different things just to get you off the phone, shocking service
Hopeless EV provider
Can't email, can't get through by phone, can't get EV charger to work. What a disaster these lot are! Afterwards, used Mer, BP pulse... luckily they were easy to use and saved me running out of range completely. No word of a lie down to 1 mile, 1% after going to 3 Geniepoints that didn't work.
High tariff and then charged for overstaying time allowed
Used their charging point in Chipping Norton
Per KWH expensive and then charged for overstaying allowed charging time to get a full charge. Once car App informed me car was fully charged went down to disconnect and move away
Second plug available so service was open to other user
Really poor- not using them again unless absolutely needed
Couldn’t give 0 stars so begrudgingly…
Couldn’t give 0 stars so begrudgingly had to give 1.
Appreciate these rapid chargers are not the most cost effective solution however sometimes needs must.
I was caught out with a £10 over stay charge, I didn’t realise this punitive charge was applicable if your car was actually charging for over 90 mins.
Also they take a minimum £25 charge from you card then refund the difference within 30 days.
Sorry but that is absolutely nothing but a con, I have read that they are not doing great financially, well good I hope you go bust!!!! You totally deserve it!!
Doesn't charge but takes your money - avoid!
2nd time trying to use geniepoint, 2nd time they've taken the £25 but didn't charge.
Charger wouldn't connect, tried 3 times and then cancelled.
Lo and behold, my bank is showing they've taken the £25, second time this had happened with geniepoint, so a 100% failure rate.
Called customer service - please call back tomorrow.
Haven't had this issue with any other providers.
Total rubbish
Avoid.
Wish I’d read these reviews before…
Wish I’d read these reviews before accessing Morrisons GeniePoint in Neath. Absolutely hammering down. Machine faulty. And wouldn’t release the cable. I’ve only just had the EV and so glad this wasn’t my first experience charging. Might have put me off. Must be costing Morrisons custom. I would have charged whilst doing my shopping. Won’t be repeating this experience anytime soon.
