Stay well clear. I feel violated. The charger doesn't charge anywhere near the rate as advertised. Of course any decent, meaningful charge then takes you over the 1hr 30 minute time limit. SO THEY TH... Mehr ansehen

Dreadful
Dreadful. Machine not connected to internet. Customer service couldn't do anything about it. What a waste of the company's investment in a charging network. How do they ever make any money? Morrisons, Chapel.
By far the worst of all the charging…
By far the worst of all the charging point providers . Unreliable and expensive. Avoid at all costs
Doesn’t work
Doesn’t work. You have to stand out in cold to keep starting the charge from the machine. Not recommended.
My wife recently charged at a genie…
My wife recently charged at a genie point charging station 10 miles from home. She needed literally 5 minutes top up to get home. After 5 minutes she cancelled the charging on the app and tried to cancel it on the screen. Neither way worked. The charger kept going for a total of around 30 minutes. This ended up being about 22kwh and cost £18 due to the charger simply not stopping.
I contacted genie point about the issue to which they simply responded saying it did stop with a chart showing it how long it had charged. No acceptance of the issue or apology. I emailed them back saying it is simply not acceptable to not be able to stop a charger when you no longer require it and couldn't believe they had not even apologised for the fact the charger would not stop.
They said they would not refund for this as it was probably just a technical error or a connection error which either of them in my opinion is there problem to sort as my wife had tried to stop it on the machine and app and if they can't offer a reliable service you are paying for they shouldn't offer it.
If you fill up at a petrol station and the pump won't stop you can guarantee that the filling station will realise they are responsible for it and they will take the hit. Geniepoint simple do not care at all about your time or experience they are simply interested in taking your money and telling you its your problem.
We almost exclusively charge at home and this has absolutely guaranteed we won't use genie point again.
Geniepoint is a total RIP OFF !!!
charged at a Geniepoint charging station yesterday, at a Morrisons shopping centre, i have had an electric car for about 6 months now, so are still relatively green behind the ears.
The day prior i charged at a different provider for over 2hrs at a cost of less than £10.
Yesterday i was plugged in for 45 mins and the cost was over £28 !!!!!!!!
What an absolute rip off !!!
Genie Point Charlotte Street Bath
Would have given 0 out of 5 if I was able - 1 is far too high. Be very careful about Geniepoint chargers at Charlotte Street. I travelled down from Shropshire to Bath for a wedding and parked at Charlotte Street to charge my car fully. I paid 6 hours parking and my car app told me that the car would just about be recharged by that time. I hadn't taken note of a 90 mins only stay by GeniePoint. Tired after long journey, I had assumed this was only for people who had finished charging and were therefore "hogging" a charging point. I have been charged £30 in overstay charges despite my car not being fully charged and utilising their charging point throughout my stay. I paid £35 for the kwH I used to take me to 85% which I would have been happy with without the £30 fine on top. Help desk was useless - Adrian understood my complaint but said only a Manager could authorise a credit. I since sent an email complaint and followed up over a week later after no response. They haven't even replied to my email complaint - even though they say they have. No manager available when I tried to ask for some commercial reasonableness. Please avoid at all costs - will never use again.
Shocking service and reliability
Shocking service and reliability. My car went into limp mode despite having miles left on the clock. Free wheeeled to a charging point at Morrisons provided by Geniepoint. Error message on the screen so called their customer support to be told it’s broken and they can’t repair it. Found another one a little further down the road so back to free wheeling and lo and behold…. It’s another geniepoint charger that doesn’t work.
Seems to be common with this company having read the reviews. Should have their licence revoked if they can’t provide a reliable service
Funds not refunded
Attempted to charge my car. Tapped my card, £35 was taken and the charge did not start. Called the help line and was told the unit is faulty. Nearly two weeks later I have still not been refunded my £35. Every time I call I get told to wait longer. Shocking service.
Be wary of using this charging company
Be wary of using this charging company. After several attempts to use the Ruishton, Somerset machine and at least 2 calls to customer support I was eventually advised the machine was faulty and I would need to use the slower Type 2 charger. I was charged £10 overstay fee when may car was still charging, to be able to complete my journey. When I complained customer support advised I should have unplugged my car at 23:30, located and driven to another charger to complete my charge before returning to the car park where the faulty charger was based. No understanding of motorist requirements.
Absolutely extortionate I was charged…
Absolutely extortionate I was charged £43 which is around £18 more than I’ve ever paid for a comparable re-charge.
How are Geniepoint allowed to get away with this.
Don't !!!don't!!! dont!!!
Unbelievably high cost to charge. Nearly £5 for 30 minute charge not even 3/4 of a battery. Far more expensive than petrol compared mpg range. If ever there was a need to regulate a public paid service this is it. There are clearly ripping the public off with extortionate holding fees / overstay charges and extremely high cost to charge. They are worse than any cowboy wheel camping firm.
If the government are really serious about EV's being the way forward they need to clamp down on companies like this as it gives the whole industry a terrible name.
Morrisons Fakenham-poor
Not impressed with Morrisons in Fakenham today. I haven't used it for a while, and it used to be really reliable. It's a new machine now and it took forever to get logged in on the app. Then a couple of attempts to power up. When it did power up it only lasted a few minutes before cutting out as I had exceeded the time limit. 😕
Use them if you need drama in your life.
Looks like scammer company
Looks like scammer company. Charging my account £25 but charger CCS not working. After contacting by phone with help desk I couldn’t except back my money immediately. They said money will returned until seven days. Why the scammers using my money and doing me poorer for few days? Avoid this charger. Use Pod point, Shell, BP instead. Geni point support not answer for emails.
Pity I can't give 0 stars...Morrisons…
Pity I can't give 0 stars...Morrisons at Goole and Scunthorpe chargers out of order for the past 2 to 3 months..ring there technical helpline to be told to find another charger elsewhere..I'm a mobile engineer in a EV Van..... not good Geniepoint👎👎
The usual GeniePoint experience
Premier inn at Grantham have just installed a GeniePoint charger. Heaven knows why! I spent 3o minutes installing the app, as it isn’t contactless and then another 30 minutes trying to get it to start. After that, it charged for 5 minutes then stopped. I’ve been charged £4o for that! Avoid at all costs!
Avoid Genie point
When them message came up there was ann error I stupidly restarted the recharge again. It came up as an error again! so not only did my car not charge Genie Point now have £70 pounds of my money (2x£35) which they say they cannot refund for 7 days. They also say this is because of my bank.
My bank said since they had requested the money it was up to them to ask for it back!
My advice. Avoid Genie point.
Absolute rip off and rubbish
Absolute rip off and rubbish. Will never use again!
£35 pre authorization fee and charger…
£35 pre authorization fee and charger failed to start, contacted geniepoint who wanted me to try again. Called to ask for my authorization fee to be released and got told wait 7 working days. Think I will stick with BP Pulse
No idea how Genie Point are still in business.
I will never use this company again and to be honest, have no idea how they are still in business. They singlehandedly demonstrate why EV charging regulations are needed because hopeless service such as provided by this joke of a company should not go unpunished. I have not had a successful charge at a Genie Point charger for more than a year and have now vowed to stop trying. Even their own map has that many red dots on it showing broken chargers it looks like it has got mumps.
