This company is a scam

This company is a scam — do not be lured in by the low upfront cost. I generally do not put reviews but this one I had to based on my recent experience.
I had a simple garbage disposal issue and filed my first claim after two years on the contract. They sent a technician who charged a $45 service fee and submitted an estimate of $500+ to First Premier for the replacement. First Premier then decided to handle it as a cash settlement but refused to disclose the settlement amount when I asked on the call. Their response was "you'll know when it's done," which is absurd.
Buried in the fine print of their contract is a clause stating they reserve the right to offer a cash settlement, and that the amount will always be less than the actual repair cost — something I missed when I signed up.
I ended up proceeding with the repair through their technician since I couldn't leave my sink unusable for however long they'd take to get back to me. Since it was my first claim, I assumed the cash settlement would be close to the estimate their own technician submitted. Instead, they approved only $150 — leaving me with over $300 out of pocket for a simple disposal replacement that I could have done myself for far less. That's a lesson learned the hard way.
They also provide zero proactive communication on claims. I emailed the cash settlement acceptance letter as they requested, but three weeks passed with no update. When I finally called, they essentially said "oh, we'll process it now" — and since they only acknowledged it the day I called, they then tacked on another 45+ days for payment from that date rather than from when I originally emailed. That's unacceptable.
Customer service is blunt, unhelpful, and comes across as deliberately rude. They seem to be there just to stonewall you.
My recommendation: pay a little more and go with a reputable home warranty provider. I will not be continuing with this company.

DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM THEM

DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM THEM! They never sent me a copy of my policy. They rarely answer the phone and never respond to email. They paid out only a fraction of my claim. And now that I've cancelled my policy, they won't send my prorated refund. Every time I get them on the phone, they say they'll "send that check out tomorrow."

UPDATE: The company's reply below says they'll reach out to me, but of course they never did. I tried calling today:

I GOT SCAMMED!!!

This company makes promises in their sales pitch and none of it is true. They send you information for technicians that doesn't work for them or say they don't pay and even fake companies. When you call FP customer service they employees play hangup games or breathing in the phone and just rude. The management won't get on the phone or return calls. Its definitely a scam that they're running and a bait and switch. Stay away from this company

Horrible Company- I would not recommend.

This company does not even deserve the 1 star I had to give. I would not recomend First premier Home Warranty. I filed a claim for my washer, no one ever came out. the next month, filed a claim for my AC, took 10 day for a tech to show up, took 5 more days for them to deny the neede part. I hired my own HVAC technician the next day, and the issue was fixed immediately and was not even the issue that the warranty tech said it was. When you call, they hang up on you, they answer the phone unprofessioanlly, VERY POOR customer service, LONG delay. I would not reccoment this company to my worst enemy. Very disappointing experience.

This company has been a nightmare

This company has been a nightmare. I have been trying to get my microwave fixed since February 2026. I have been given the runaround ever since I tried to do the claim let’s start with they sent me to four companies and none of them honored this company due to. They said they never receive payment. Finally they tell me they’re going to just send me a check out on March 18. Tell me the check will be sent out in 45 days. Call them back to confirm. Oh yeah you get a check will send a check out May 20 so I don’t recommend anyone using this company. They are scammers and they don’t give a damn about you they just wanna take your money.

I am writing to file a formal complaint…

I am writing to file a formal complaint against First Premier Home Warranty Company regarding an unresolved reimbursement issue. Aug. 18, 2025, I filed a service claim with First Premier Home Warranty. A technician was assigned but failed to respond. I contacted FP and was assigned a 2nd company, who stated they do not work with FP due to non-payment issues. After contacting FP again, I was told to find my own contractor, obtain a diagnosis, and submit it for approval. I did so promptly, and the company confirmed that reimbursement would be issued once approved. Despite this, weeks passed without payment. On 9/3/25, I was told I needed to sign a “Cash in Lieu” form before reimbursement could be processed. I completed and submitted the same day. Once again I called on 9/30/25, and spoke with an individual named Todd, who claimed to be the owner. The call lasted nearly two hours, during which he was extremely unprofessional. I was told reimbursements take 45 days. 11/6/25, 45 days had passed and no payment had been received. Upon calling again, a rep stated the reimbursement had been processed and that my credit card would be credited within a few days. The approved reimbursement amount was $115, as stated in writing on the Cash in Lieu form, which also specifies that payment would be issued to my original form of payment or via check. However, on 11/7/25, I received a credit of only $51, and it was applied to not my original payment method, nor by check as agreed. I am still owed $64. At the time of writing this complaint, I have been on hold for 55 minutes, and over the course of this process, I have spent more than 16 hours attempting to resolve this issue. Well at 59 min the call was disconnected. I am not surprised! I am requesting that First Premier Home Warranty immediately issue the remaining $64 reimbursement as promised, using the correct payment method as specified in their own documentation within 5 days of receipt of complaint.

Absolutely atrocious experience with…

Absolutely atrocious experience with this company. From the beginning, I dealt with rude and uncaring agents who lied to me incessantly. My claim check for my first and only claim was three months late. I had to fight tooth and nail to finally get it. As soon as it arrived, I immediately cancelled my policy because I could not stand this company any longer. Once again, my refund check was a month late and I doubt I would have received it at all if I didn’t call constantly and remain on their case. One particular agent, Teffma, was exceptionally rude and condescending. He flat out told me during one of our phone calls that he would make sure I didn’t get my refund check. I hope I can convince at least one person to not buy a policy with this company. It disappoints when a company takes advantage of its customers the way this company did. I tried to complain numerous times but no one returned my calls or emails.

If I were to give them a negative…

If I were to give them a negative score, I would give them -100. As soon as they took the premium, they vanished. Now, I need to repair my cooktop, which requires $400. They are saying, 'Take this $172, we can support this much and get it done.' How rude that is!

Poor service after sale

I paid for 6 year plan in 2024. My first claim on 03/07/26 was for an internal leak in my tankless hot water heater. I received an email with the contractor’s information, but after calling him he stated that he ceased doing business with them because of below market payments. I called again and the next contractor said that he wasn’t contacted by FPHW. I’ve made numerous calls and was promised a contractor would definitely contact me; no contact or hot water in six days. I’m beginning to believe that I was scammed. I wouldn’t advise any one to use their services, just read the service reviews!

First Premier is hard to reach for a…

First Premier is hard to reach for a claim. I spent hours holding over a two day period and never talked to anyone, My call was automatically disconnected. Previously set up an appointment for another poroblem and service person never showed up and does not answer my calls. This outfit is a complete bust.
