Elle Melbourne 

Don’t trust this scamming company. It markets itself as a Melbourne company but it is really a Chinese shop selling inferior quality clothes. My dress arrived but it was the wrong size and, instead of cotton, was a kind of plastic material . They tell you to send it back but that the buyer has to package it up and send it back to China which costs $ 40 and another $15 for customs and handling. Otherwise, they kindly suggest, you give the item away as a gift .. what the? Fraudulent scam artists turning people away from buying on-line. I’m reporting them to the ACCC.

What a scam. I wish I'd looked at reviews before I ever bought from this company. Hard to believe they are operating in Australia without legal action from ADSIC.
Sweat shop low level tat is what their stuff looks like...appalling quality and sizing...nothing like description.
I ordered "Cashmere" jackets and received Polyester.
When I complained they told me to send items back to China for $40 PLUS they wanted $15 for "administrative" charges i.e. sending me return label.
No wonder they're going out of business. They're obviously buying in bulk from China, then hiking the prices once in Australia. BUYER BEWARE. Shockingly dishonest.

Just like some customers here, wish I had read the review before purchasing. Pictures they use to sell the items are very different to the item received. I do online shopping and am very aware of the colour differences but, the actual material don't look anything like it, style is completely off and sizing does not make any sense. Crappy tricky scaming system.. if you buy it, don't bother trying to return, not worth it. There's a $15 processing fee for EACH item. I don't see how that's different to you processing items people purchase. Then there's a return postage which is $40+ so they have their way to rip you off, which you won't experience if you buy it from Quality Australian stores online/ in store. I'm sharing my experience. I hope it's differently a positive one for most. But all in all just don't waste time and money getting caught in the images, which is what I did..

I wish i had read these reviews before I purchased multiple items from this site. My only advice is forget about these offers regardless of how good a deal you think you are getting. Save you money and stress. I stupidly have paid for three items and nothing has arrived. What you expect from China. Dumb dumb me,

Ordered two cardigans, a dress and some shoes from the site. By law, clothing must have labelling but both cardigans have neither and they are way too small for the ‘large’ that was ordered. Dress has not arrived yet and the shoes are of inferior quality.

Complete scam of a company. The products are from China, the store has nothing to do with Melbourne. The quality is worse than rubbish and any emails for a refund are completely ignored. I wish I had of thought to check this site before ordering. I'm convinced the 5 star reviews aren't legit. As for it going out of business - good - it deserves to.

Ordered using their size chart which turned out very inaccurate. The return costs are very high $40AUD plus $15, so buyer beware. The dress I received was nice and seemed good quality although the colour was totally different. Described by them as green and looked green in the pictures but definitely a steel blue!

Cheap Chinese quality and forget about returning wrong size etc , it will cost you $65 to return it to China!! They should have called it Elle China!!

Complete waste of money. Shoe repairer I went to stated 'these are the flimsiest worst pair of sandals I've ever seen'. Even when I paid $25 to repair, the strap still would not stay on my heel.

The most false advertising company ever!!! when i received my package, it was completely different to the website. The look of the items were flimsy cheap shit from China. Which I never knew they were being shipped from China. Shein is 100% better and cheaper. I demanded a refund and got only 40% back after numerous emails. The hyde of them not even accepting the blame. After sending images showing the difference in their products form the website to the physical item. They should be ashamed of themselves! to say the least. No wonder the pricks have to close. And they have not been operation for 20 years. more like 2

I also think it’s worth less than 1 star!!!!! The shoes I ordered are absolutely terrible. A complete cheap replica of the picture shown online. The colour isn’t even close to what I chose. The material is really cheap and the finishes are all terribly put together.
DO NOT MAKE A PURCHASE.
Only wish I thought to look up Elle Melbourne before purchasing!

So well-designed! Everything fits flawlessly, clearly made with care.

I ordered a linen mustard yellow short sleeve top. I waited 2 months for it to arrive. Well!! What a disappointment. The top arrived with no label, no washing instructions and the fabric was cheap polyester. And bright yellow!! So badly finished that the turn over collar had the seams showing. I complained and I was told to send it back to china for refund and I would have to pay the postage. Eventually they offered me a $25 refund. The top was $75. This company needs to be reported to the consumer protection authority. I will do this. 0 out of 5.

I have also been caught out with this 'business'. I wrongly assumed I was buying from a shop in Melbourne not overseas. Hindsight wonderful things. Address had no building number in prime retail street and no details of fabric of item. Website looked good. Ages to get here. One item absolutely awful and other not too bad but not worth the money. Will cost me almost as much to send back than I paid but to quote "you can give to friend or relatives and receive 20% of the price of the item". I would not insult anyone by giving them this blouse. The jumper I will use - I've complained and told them it is only good enough for gardening. Never buy anything that alleges it is closing down. Rubbish! Expensive lesson learnt. The plastic bag they came in was the only thing that was good quality!

Bought their Serafina dress and received a ridiculous thing that's not even comparable to what was advertised! To return, they said I was required to pay for the international tracked shipping to China, plus the tax and tariffs, plus the handling fee for the company. They claimed this is because they're operating through one warehouse that's in China because they value the environment!!! If they valued the environment they'd manufacture locally, rather than shipping individual items internationally. I won't accept this or let this go. They list a Melbourne business address - called the Customer Affairs Victoria and made sure the Department knows everything.

I feel like it is important for me to share feedback on a clothing product I purchased from Elle Melbourne, as I believe a consumer should feel assured about the purchase they make online. Similarly, to other peoples feedback, (I came across this after my purchase), the tracksuit I received came with no label, no clothing tags and the material was not what was detailed in the description.
The size was not correct. The website focuses on a family business, where quality is uncompromised. This is misleading, as the quality of material and stitch is poor. Given I spent $80 on this item, the item was not even comparable to what I would purchase at Big W or Kmart, for a quarter of the price. I encourage future consumers to err with caution.

Scam. Advertises as Australian family business which must close giving great deals. Rubbish! All goods come out of china, ordered 3 pairs of shoes, came wrapped in plastic, all smelt of glue, which was still wet, the leather had been cut with pinking sheers and not trimmed, the sizing was wrong, would not have cost 10 dllrs. They do have a return policy - you pay postage back, they charge 50 dllrs per item for return! My original invoice was 169 dllrs PLUS import tax, goods were half price. After a debate, they offered me 30pct refund on my credit card and told me to give the shoes away.
They also tried to claim the cost twice causing my credit card to be cancelled due to suspected fraud

This is a scam shop. I order two 'quality wool blazers', 6 weeks later received a package from china with two crappy synthetic/cotton cardigans that are unwearable. I emailed them to demand a refund and never received a reply. This is robbery. These people are criminals and deserve to be jailed. I have just submitted a report to the Australian government via scamwatch.gov.au
