Elle Melbourne 

Elle Melbourne is practicing FALSE ADVERTISING! It is a Belgian company with a central warehouse in Mainland China. The garments I, unfortunately, purchased from these scammers were not at all made of the material advertised on their website (100% polyester instead of cashmere; 65% polyester/35% cotton instead of wool). There was never an acknowledgment by these scammers that they practiced false advertising. If I wished to return the garments to their warehouse in China, I had to cover the cost myself, which was up to A$ 40.00 shipping cost per piece of clothing and $15.00 handling cost per piece. I refused to give in, contacted the ACCC and asked my credit card company to reverse the payment. Elle Melbourne Customer Service tried to negotiate a deal, but I refused. After a few weeks I received a refund of all the cost.
Don't give in or up!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Their products are bad copies of originals. The fabric is not at all like the photos used in their adverts. The fabric is thick and coarse. You will have to pay $25.00 to return your product from Australia to China if you are dissatisfied with the product. I have still not received my refund even though my product was returned and received by them over a month ago. This is not an Australian company and their advertising is dishonest. I would give a zero star if I could!

The entity is claiming they can not locate the returned clothing item despite Australia Post tracking confirming delivery on 8 May 2025. Returned due to item not actually being knitwear but a photographic copy of a knitted cardigan digitally printed onto a synthetic plastic surface. Truly horrible and 4 times too large so they must not have been able to adjust the photographic printing technique. No intention despite polite requests of refunding the money. Do not waste your time of money on these ripoff merchants.

Received 2 items of women's clothes, both of which very poor materials, did not fit!!
After purchase researched web site, not located in Melbourne they are in Brussels, made in China very very poor materials, both manufacturing & No quality control.
SCAM Web site, using the ELLE name & Melbourne location to decive Australians.

Do not order from this company. Their returns is a lie! 6months later the return I sent to the address they supplied has been returned to me. They will not give the refund until they receive the return. The clothes are terrible quality for the price. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I don’t understand how anyone can have a positive experience with this business. It is based in China and returns are not possible.

This company is based in China, and sells Chinese goods. I made one order of about 20 items supposedly 'on sale'. Delivery was very slow (more than two months) with many excuses about 'checking quality'. The quality was wide ranging - some items were excellent and others dismal. Sizing was inconsistent and some tailoring was appalling eg body of garment was size 20 with sleeves in a size 10. About 2/3 did not match the description or pictures on the website. I needed to return about 1/3 of the order (some I gave away) and was told it would cost me $15 per item 're-warehousing fee' plus up to $40 per item for return shipping. The customs fees are also at my expense.
The few items that were lovely were really lovely, but it is 'pot luck'. Recommend you choose wisely if you shop here.

For a company that calls itself Elle Melbourne, their online store has NO Australian connection. It is based in China. The orders go to China and they are shipped from China. That is all okay if the goods ordered are the correct size and specification. If not, the return shipping is at the purchasers expense, meaning that the postage can be as much as the value of the product or certainly a good proportion of the value. This is what I call a Pseudo No Returns Policy. Who would return a A$50 garment if the postage is going to cost A$40? So, I purchased two lightweight cotton shirts, in my size medium. I checked the size guide on the Elle Melbourne website and ordered the shirts. What arrived, several week later were two child sized shirts. I would not have fitted in a large shirt with that sizing. When I contacted Elle Melbourne to organise a return, I discovered their Pseudo No Return Policy. I complained, was offered a 20% refund and I have donated the shirts to charity. Buyer beware.

If I could rate it as zero I would. The most horrible online shopping experience I've had in my life. The quality of the items is cheap and ill-fitting, the sizes are not matching, the delivery service is terrible- it took them 2 months to deliver my order, ridiculous!
Never again, don't recommend to anyone.

As per all the other reviews, do not buy from this store. Even if you go through the hassle of trying to send your order back to China they won’t accept the package and it’ll end up being returned to you

Worst quality and delivery. Ordered 9th of April arrived 23rd of May after Multiple false emails advising shipping information that was fabricated con note numbers. Garments supplied, straight out of china, were cheap attempted knock offs of the advertised items. Buyer beware of any "of Melbourne sellers" Chinese rip offs cashing in on our hope to support local businesses. Lesson learnt always check reviews before check out.

Further to my review of May 9th, after having returned the goods to China (which were rejected and returned to me) I finally got a reply for Elle. I have been told that it was rejected by Chinese customs because of lack of duty and documentation. At no point was I made aware of that requirement. Their advice, return it again! So, my advice, don't buy from Elle (Melbourne?)

This company is a SCAM.. spent over $550 for absolute rubbish and now lucky to get one cent back. Don’t believe good ratings, they must have been paid to write. BUYERS BEWARE NOT AN AUSTRALIAN COMPANY- OVERSEAS COMPANY SELLING CHEAP ASIAN RUBBISH!

Shoppers, please stay away from Elle Melbourne, they are a scam. I purchased over $1K of clothing, I received it and it was honestly the worst quality garments I have ever seen. I e-mailed asking for refund and [Name Removed] from Elle Melbourne responded saying "If that is not an option for you, we also offer the following: Since we prefer to avoid returns given the ecological process (CO2) emissions, you can then just keep your items and do not have to return anything. (For every 3 orders we plant a tree in the world). Here we can then take (10%) of your total order value and credit it to your payment method. (Klarna, Paypal or CreditCard) Then you can for example give the item to friends or family. We hope you can understand and I hope to resolve this soon together with you, " The CO2 is a whole lot of [Content Removed], I ended up mailing the entire package to China where their factory is via Aus Post. I sent it back in January this year, the tracking shows that the package was received by postal carrier in Shanghai China. Elle Melbourne says they did not receive the package and since than I have found out by Australia Post that they are a SCAM and they would have received the package and on sold it but will find a excuse that they did not receive it. This company should be closed down. I URGE others not to buy any products from this company please, they are a SCAM.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS WEBSITE! All the bad reviews are thoroughly deserved. Basically all the same issues- very poor quality, small sizes, the cost to return is about the same as the cost of the item & they purport to be Elle Melbourne but are based in China. Do not make the mistake of buying anything from them. Don’t deserve even 1 star!!!

As others have posted. Buyer beware. Advertised cashmere and wool came as poly cotton. Do not answer the question just say we sorry you are not happy with purchase. Fraudulent behaviour.

Only way to get refund is to post back to China at buyers expense even though they are trying to save on carbon emissions!

he worst website I could have ever purchased from in my life. Will never ever go again to buy anything even if it means I have to go and buy from Salvos or Vinnies store. Theire customer service is pathetic as it can be.
My wife's dress was incorrect size and the material itself was cheap quality. I asked for the return and I am getting the email saying that for returns I need to ship the dress back to China where it was dispatched from. I need to bare the cost of shipping as well as they charge 15% for restocking. No where in their website all this is mentioned and they're saying in the email that they abide by the Australian Consumer Law. I would give them -100 star if that was available for experience rating.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY FROM THEIR WEBSITE. I WISH I COULD BLOCK THEM FROM GOOGLE AS WELL.

Product that you receive is completely different from the image they show very poor qualities see-through not worth a quarter of what they are seeking for and then refunds you have to pay a stocking fee plus overseas postage and then they’ll only give you back 20% refund. do not ever buy from this website it’s full on advertising for what they’re selling
